1Optical meta-waveguides for integrated photonics and beyond显示文摘The growing maturity of nanofabrication has ushered massive sophisticated optical structures available on a photonic chip.The integration of subwavelength-structured metasurfaces and metamaterials on the canonical building block of optical waveguides is gradually reshaping the landscape of photonic integrated circuits,giving rise to numerous metawaveguides with unprecedented strength in controlling guided electromagnetic waves.Here,we review recent advances in meta-structured waveguides that synergize various functional subwavelength photonic architectures with diverse waveguide platforms,such as dielectric or plasmonic waveguides and optical fibers.Foundational results and representative applications are comprehensively summarized.Brief physical models with explicit design tutorials,either physical intuition-based design methods or computer algorithms-based inverse designs,are cataloged as well.We highlight how meta-optics can infuse new degrees of freedom to waveguide-based devices and systems,by enhancing light-matter interaction strength to drastically boost device performance,or offering a versatile designer media for manipulating light in nanoscale to enable novel functionalities.We further discuss current challenges and outline emerging opportunities of this vibrant field for various applications in photonic integrated circuits,biomedical sensing,artificial intelligence and beyond.Yuan Meng Yizhen Chen Longhui Lu Yimin Ding Andrea Cusano Jonathan A.Fan Qiaomu Hu Kaiyuan Wang Zhenwei Xie Zhoutian Liu Yuanmu Yang Qiang Liu Mali Gong Qirong Xiao Shulin Sun Minming Zhang Xiaocong Yuan Xingjie Ni 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,12:6

3Strength and deformation behaviors of veined marble specimens after vacuum heat treatment under conventional triaxial compression显示文摘The mechanical behaviors of rocks affected by high temperature and stress are generally believed to be significant for the stability of certain projects involving rocks, such as nuclear waste storage and geothermal resource exploitation. In this paper, veined marble specimens were treated to high temperature treatment and then used in conventional triaxial compression tests to investigate the effect of temperature, confining pressure, and vein angle on strength and deformation behaviors. The results show that the strength and deformation parameters of the veined marble specimens changed with the temperature, presenting a critical temperature of 600℃. The triaxial compression strength of a horizontal vein(β = 90°) is obviously larger than that of a vertical vein(β = 0°). The triaxial compression strength,elasticity modulus, and secant modulus have an approximately linear relation to the confining pressure. 5Camptothecin-based nanodrug delivery systems显示文摘The drug camptothecin has a wide range of antitumor effects in cancers including gastric cancer,rectal and colon cancer,liver cancer,and lung cancer.Camptothecin-based drugs inhibit topoisomerase 1(Topo 1),leading to destruction of DNA,and are currently being used as important chemotherapeutic agents in clinical antitumor treatment.However,the main obstacle associated with cancer therapy is represented by systemic toxicity of conventional anticancer drugs and their low accumulation at the tumor site.In addition,low bioavailability,poor water solubility,and other shortcomings hinder their anticancer activity.Different from traditional pharmaceutical preparations,nanotechnology-dependent nanopharmaceutical preparations have become one of the main strategies for different countries worldwide to overcome drug development problems.In this review,we summarized the current hotspots and discussed a variety of camptothecin-based nanodrugs for cancer therapy.We hope that through this review,more efficient drug delivery systems could be designed with potential applications in clinical cancer therapy.Yan Wen Yingze Wang Xiaoli Liu Wei Zhang Xinhe Xiong Zhongxiao Han Xingjie Liang 2017Cancer Biology & Medicine2017,14,4:3
6Individual-tree diameter growth model for Korean pine plantations based on optimized interpolation of meteorological variables显示文摘To explore the influence of meteorological variables on the growth of Korean pine(Pinus koraiensis Sieb.et Zucc.) plantations and provide a scientific reference for the production and management of Korean pine,three approaches to interpolate meteorological variables during the growing season(i.e.,May-September) were compared in Heilongjiang Province,China.Optimized meteorological variable interpolation results were then combined with stand and individual tree variables,based on data from 56 sample plots and 2886 sample trees from Korean pine plantations in two regions of the province to develop an individualtree diameter growth model(Model I) and an individualtree diameter growth model with meteorological variables(Model Ⅱ) using a stepwise regression method.Moreover,an individual-tree diameter growth model with regional effects(Model Ⅲ) was developed using dummy variables in the regression,and the significance of introducing these dummy variables was verified with an F-test statistical analysis.The models were validated using an independent data set,and the predictive performance of the three models was assessed via the adjusted coefficient of determination(R_(a)^(2)) and root mean square error(RMSE).The results suggest that the growth increment in tree diameter of Korean pine plantations was significantly correlated with the natural logarithm of initial diameter(ln D),stand basal area(BAS),logarithmic deformation of the stand density index(ln SDI),ratio of basal area of trees larger than the subject tree to their initial diameter at breast height(DBH)(BAL/D),and the maximum growingseason precipitation(Pgmax).The individual-tree diameter growth models of Korean pine plantations developed in this study will provide a good basis for estimating and predicting growth increments of Korean pine forests over larger areas.Man Wang Yinghui Zhao Zhen Zhen Xingji Jin 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,4:3

9Examination of Resource Curse Hypothesis: Mineral Resources Exploitation and Economic Growth in Xinjiang Autonomous Region显示文摘The mineral resources exploitation stage and the economic growth rate are various in different regions of Xinjiang Autonomous region. Using the method of location quotient, this paper identifies and classifies the intensive regions of three types of mineral resources, known as coal, oil and natural gas, respectively. The intensive regions of economic growth were also identified, according to the rate of per capita GDP growth at prefecture, autonomous prefecture and city. The relationships between different mineral resources and economic growth are different, for example, the relationship between economic growth and coal resource is positive, while the relationship between economic growth and oil resource, or natural gas resource is negative. This study empirically examines the effects of natural resources on economic growth of Xinjiang. The results show that whilst natural resources have a positive impact on growth, and can make a negative impact on growth through the transmission channels, such as investment, manufacture, human capital, and scientific and technologic innovation. Moreover, it studies the transmission channels, that is, the effect of natural resources on the other explanatory variables, and calculates the indirect effect of natural resources on growth for each transmission channel, and comprehensive effects of natural resources on growth. 17Force modeling for needle insertion into soft tissue based on mechanical properties and geometric parameters显示文摘The force model during needle insertion into soft tissue is important for accurate percutaneous intervention.In this paper,a force model for needle insertion into a tissue- equivalent material is presented and a series of experiments are conducted to acquire data from needle soft- tissue interaction process.In order to build a more accurate insertion force model,the interaction force between a surgical needle and soft tissue is divided into three parts:stiffness force,friction force,and cutting force.The stiffness force is modeled on the basis of contact mechanics model.The friction force model is presented using a modified Winkler' s foundation model.The cutting force is viewed as a constant depending on a given tissue.The proposed models in the paper are established on the basis of the mechanical properties and geometric parameters of the needle and soft tissue.The experimental results illustrate that the force models are capable of predicting the needle-tissue interaction force.The force models of needle insertion can provide real-time haptic feedback for robot-assisted procedures,thereby improving the accuracy and safety of surgery.宿志亮 Jiang Shan Wang Xingji Yan Yu 2014High Technology Letters2014,20,3:1

19Moxibustion modulates working memory in patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment:a functional magnetic resonance imaging study显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the correlation between changes in brain activity associated with working memory and assessment scales of memory scores in amnestic mild cognitive impairment(aMCI)before and after moxibustion therapy.METHODS:aMCI patients were randomized into the moxibustion treatment(MT)group and the placebo moxibustion(PM)group.Each group received either moxibustion therapy or a placebo moxibustion for eight weeks.Neuropsychological performance and functional brain responses to a working memory task were assessed at baseline and at the end of treatment.Memory function was evaluated individually by the Rivermead behavioral memory test(RBMT),and working memory was assessed by the N-back task.RESULTS:Compared with the PM group,RBMT score changes were significant(P<0.05).In the MT group,the accuracy of the N-back texts increased compared with those before the intervention.After moxibustion intervention,the right insula,postcentral gyrus,precentral gyrus,superior temporal gyrus,thalamus,lingual gyrus,calcarine sulcus,posterior cingulate gyrus,middle frontal gyrus and anterior frontal gyrus were significantly activated(P=0.01,Cluster-level Family-Wise Error=0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the insula,lingual gyrus and posterior cingulate gyrus were associated with changes in N-back score.Spearman correlation analysis showed that the postcentral gyrus,superior temporal gyrus,thalamus,lingual gyrus,and posterior cingulate gyrus were correlated with RBMT score changes.CONCLUSION:Moxibustion treatment improved memory in aMCI patients and was associated with the activation of the brain region of the insula,lingual gyrus,posterior cingulate gyrus,postcentral gyrus,superior temporal gyrus,and thalamus,which may be an important mechanism by which moxibustion improves the memory function.LI Xingjie LIU Qiqi XIA Rui LIU Jun WANG Dan SHI Jiao KUANG Yuxing DAI Yalan HUANG Haoyu TANG Wei CHEN Shangjie 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,4:1
20Preparation and characterization of doxorubicin functionalized tiopronin-capped gold nanorods for cancer therapy显示文摘Gold nanomaterials are immerging candidates in medical diagnosis and treatment.Among them,gold nanorods(Au NRs)are widely used for cancer treatment.Tiopronin as a novel thiol drug was used to stabilize Au NRs in this work.Doxorubicin(DOX),a chemotherapeutic drug which works by interacting with DNA to arrest the cell cycle and induce apoptosis,was linked to Au NRs through electrostatic reaction with tiopronin,to obtain Au-TIOP-DOX NRs.Au NRs are also regarded as hyperthermia agents for photothermal cancer treatment.This delivery system(Au-TIOP-DOX NRs)was designed for passively targeting tumor cells in cancer therapy.More importantly,the carboxyl groups of tiopronin can be modified with some biological molecules(DNA/RNA,peptides,or drugs)to make Au NRs as a novel drug-delivery system for cancer treatment.HUO ShuaiDong JIN ShuBin ZHENG KaiYuan HE ShengTai WANG DongLiang LIANG XingJie 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,33:1
