1The crustal structures of the central Longmenshan along and its margins as related to the seismotectonics of the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake显示文摘In 2010,a 500-km-long wide-angle reflection/refraction seismic profile was completed,running northwest from the central Sichuan Basin.This profile orthogonally crosses the meizoseismal area of great Wenchuan earthquake of 12 May 2008,which occurred in the central part of the Longmenshan.The profile also passes through the northwestern Sichuan Plateau,along which a new deep seismic sounding observation system was set up that was much improved over previous datasets and enabled abundant observations to be recorded.Seismic wave phase records that reflect the structural characteristics of different tectonic blocks,especially the complicated phase features associated with the Wenchuan earthquake,were calculated and analyzed in detail.A 2D crustal P-wave velocity model for the orogenic belt in the central Longmenshan and its margins was determined,and crustal structure differences between the stable Sichuan Basin and the thickened northwestern Sichuan Plateau were characterized.Lithological variations within the upper and lower crust in the interior of the plateau,especially a great velocity decrease and plastic rheological properties associated with strong lithologic weakening in lower crust,were detected.From west to east in the lower crust beneath the orogenic belt lying between the Sichuan Basin and the northwestern Sichuan Plateau,a giant shovel-like upwelling is observed that dips gently in the lower part and at higher angles in the upper part;this is inferred to be related to the fault systems in the central Longmenshan.An upwelling in the upper-middle crust along the eastern margin of the orogenic belt is associated with steeply dipping thrusts that strongly uplift the upper crust and crystalline basement beneath a central fault system in the Longmenshan.The data,combined with an understanding of the regional tectonic stress field and previous geological results,enable a discussion of basin-and-range coupling,orogenic tectonics,the crustal fault system,and the seismogenic tectonic environment of the central Longmenshan along the eastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.JIA ShiXu LIU BaoJin XU ZhaoFan LIU Zhi FENG ShaoYing ZHANG JianShi LIN JieYan TIAN XiaoFeng LIU QiaoXia GUO WenBin 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,4:26

4Ar-Ar geochronology of Late Mesozoic volcanic rocks from the Yanji area, NE China and tectonic implications显示文摘Ar-Ar dating results of late Mesozoic-Cenozoic volcanic rocks from the Yanji area, NE China provide a new volcano-sedimentary stratigraphic framework. The previously defined “Triassic-Jurassic” volcanic rocks (including those from Sanxianling, Tuntianying, Tianqiaoling and Jingouling Fms.) were erupted during 118―106 Ma, corresponding to Early Cretaceous. The new eruption age span is slightly younger than the main stage (130―120 Ma) of the extensive magmatism in the eastern Central Asian Orogenic Belt and its adjacent regions. Subduction-related adakites occurring in the previously defined Quanshuicun Fm. were extruded at ca. 55 Ma. Based on these new Ar-Ar ages, the late Mesozoic to Palaeocene volcano-sedimentary sequences is rebuilt as: Tuopangou Fm., Sanxianling/Tuntianying Fm. (118―115 Ma), Malugou/Tianqiaoling Fm. (K1), Huoshanyan/Jingouling Fm. (108―106 Ma), Changcai Fm. (K2), Quanshuicun Fm. (~55 Ma) and Dalazi Fm. 7Inulin Can Alleviate Metabolism Disorders in ob/ob Mice by Partially Restoring Leptinrelated Pathways Mediated by Gut Microbiota显示文摘Inulin has been used as a prebiotic to alleviate glucose and lipid metabolism disorders in mice and humans by modulating the gut microbiota. However, the mechanism underlying the alleviation of metabolic disorders by inulin through interactions between the gut microbiota and host cells is unclear. We use ob/ob mice as a model to study the effect of inulin on the cecal microbiota by16 S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and its interaction with host cells by transcriptomics. The inulin-supplemented diet improved glucose and lipid metabolism disorder parameters in ob/ob mice,alleviating fat accumulation and glucose intolerance. The a diversity of gut microbial community of ob/ob mice was reduced after inulin treatment, while the b diversity tended to return to the level of wild type mice. Interestingly, Prevotellaceae UCG 001(family Prevotellaceae) was obviously enriched after inulin treatment. A comparative analysis of the gene expression profile showed that the cecal transcriptome was changed in leptin gene deficiency mice, whereas the inulin-supplemented diet partially reversed the changes in leptin gene-related signaling pathways, especially AMPK signaling pathway, where the levels of gene expression became comparable to those in wild type mice.Further analysis indicated that Prevotellaceae UCG 001 was positively correlated with the AMPK signaling pathway, which was negatively correlated with markers of glycolipid metabolism disorders. 8Humoral immune response to circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants elicited by inactivated and RBD-subunit vaccines显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 variants could induce immune escape by mutations on the receptor-binding domain(RBD)and N-terminal domain(NTD).Here we report the humoral immune response to circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants,such as 501Y.V2(B.1.351),of the plasma and neutralizing antibodies(NAbs)elicited by CoronaVac(inactivated vaccine),ZF2001(RBD-subunit vaccine)and natural infection.Among 86 potent NAbs identified by high-throughput single-cell VDJ sequencing of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from vaccinees and convalescents,near half anti-RBD NAbs showed major neutralization reductions against the K417N/E484K/N501Y mutation combination,with E484K being the dominant cause.VH3-53/VH3-66 recurrent antibodies respond differently to RBD variants,and K417N compromises the majority of neutralizing activity through reduced polar contacts with complementarity determining regions.In contrast,the 242–244 deletion(242–244Δ)would abolish most neutralization activity of anti-NTD NAbs by interrupting the conformation of NTD antigenic supersite,indicating a much less diversity of anti-NTD NAbs than anti-RBD NAbs.Plasma of convalescents and CoronaVac vaccinees displayed comparable neutralization reductions against pseudo-and authentic 501Y.V2 variants,mainly caused by E484K/N501Y and 242–244Δ,with the effects being additive.Importantly,RBD-subunit vaccinees exhibit markedly higher tolerance to 501Y.V2 than convalescents,since the elicited anti-RBD NAbs display a high diversity and are unaffected by NTD mutations.Moreover,an extended gap between the third and second doses of ZF2001 leads to better neutralizing activity and tolerance to 501Y.V2 than the standard three-dose administration.Together,these results suggest that the deployment of RBD-vaccines,through a third-dose boost,may be ideal for combating SARS-CoV-2 variants when necessary,especially for those carrying mutations that disrupt the NTD supersite.Yunlong Cao Ayijiang Yisimayi Yali Bai Weijin Huang Xiaofeng Li Zhiying Zhang Tianjiao Yuan Ran An Jing Wang Tianhe Xiao Shuo Du Wenping Ma Liyang Song Yongzheng Li Xiang Li Weiliang Song Jiajing Wu Shuo Liu Xuemei Li Yonghong Zhang Bin Su Xianghua Guo Yangyang Wei Chuanping Gao Nana Zhang Yifei Zhang Yang Dou Xiaoyu Xu Rui Shi Bai Lu Ronghua Jin Yingmin Ma Chengfeng Qin Youchun Wang Yingmei Feng Junyu Xiao Xiaoliang Sunney Xie 2021Cell Research2021,31,7:12
9Arabidopsis co-chaperonin CPN20 antagonizes Mg-chelatase H subunit to derepress ABA-responsive WRKY40 transcription repressor显示文摘Our previous study demonstrated that a chloroplast co-chaperonin 20(CPN20),one of the interaction partners of the magnesium-protoporphyrin IX chelatase H subunit(CHLH/ABAR),negatively regulates ABA signaling at the same node with ABAR but upstream of WRKY40 transcription repressor in Arabidopsis thaliana.In the present experiment,we showed that ABA directly inhibits the ABAR-CPN20 interaction,and also represses expression of CPN20,which depends on ABAR.CPN20 inhibits ABAR-WRKY40 interaction by competitively binding to ABAR.ABAR downregulates,but CPN20 upregulates,WRKY40 expression.The cpn20-1 mutation induces downregulation of WRKY40,and suppresses the upregulated level of WRKY40 due to the cch mutation in the ABAR gene.ABA-induced repressive effect of the WRKY40 gene is strengthened by downregulation of CPN20 but reduced by upregulation of CPN20.Together with our previously reported genetic data,we provide evidence that CPN20 functions through antagonizing the ABAR-WRKY40 coupled pathway,and ABA relieves this pathway of repression by inhibiting the ABAR-CPN20 interaction to activate ABAR-WRKY40 interaction.ZHANG XiaoFeng JIANG Tao YU YongTao WU Zhen JIANG ShangChuan LU Kai FENG XiuJing LIANG Shan LU YanFen WANG XiaoFang ZHANG DaPeng 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,1:11

11Transcriptional landscape of rice roots at the single-cell resolution显示文摘There are two main types of root systems in flowering plants,namely taproot systems of dicots and fibrous root systems found in monocots.Despite this fundamental split,our current knowledge of cellular and molecular mechanism driving root development is mainly based on studies of the dicot model Arabidopsis.However,the world major crops are monocots and little is known about the transcriptional programs underlying cell-type specification in this clade.Here,we report the transcriptomes of more than 20000 single cells derived from root tips of two agronomically important rice cultivars.Using combined computational and experimental analyses we were able to robustly identify most of the major cell types and define novel cell-type-specific marker genes for both cultivars.Importantly,we found divergent cell types associated with specific regulatory programs,including phytohormone biosynthesis,signaling,and response,which were well conserved between the two rice cultivars.In addition,we detected substantial differences between the cell-type transcript profiles of Arabidopsis and rice.These species-specific features emphasize the importance of analyzing tissues across diverse model species,including rice.Taken together,our study provides insight into the transcriptomic landscape of major cell types of rice root tip at single-cell resolution and opens new avenues to study cell-type specification,function,and evolution in plants.Qing Liu Zhe Liang Dan Feng Sanjie Jiang Yifan Wang Zhuoying Du Ruoxi Li Guihua Hu Pingxian Zhang Yanfei Ma Jan ULohmann Xiaofeng Gu 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,3:9
12Microstructure evolution of ZA72 magnesium alloy during partial remelting显示文摘The application of some semi-solid forming magnesium alloys is restricted due to their weak mechanical properties. To improve the mechanical properties, it is necessary to research the regularity and theory of semi-solid microstructure evolution of the alloy. In this study, microstructure evolution of ZA72 alloy during the partial remelting, and the effect of holding temperature and holding time on the semi-solid microstructure evolution of ZA72 magnesium alloy were investigated by means of OM, SEM and EDS analysis. The results indicate that the microstructure with small and spheroidal semi-solid particles which are available for thixo-forming can be obtained using proper heating parameters. After being isothermally treated at between 580 and 610 ℃ for 30 min, the equivalent size and shape factor of primary solid phase of ZA72 alloy decrease gradually, while the liquid volume fraction increases. When isothermally treated at 600 ℃ and held for different times from 15 to 60 min, with the increase of holding time, the equivalent size of primary particles decreases at first and then increases gradually; while the shape factor decreases gradually. The best heat treatment parameters in this experiment are to hold at 610 ℃ for 30 min. Compared with as-cast ZA72 alloy, the sizes of the eutectic phase and second α-Mg phase obtained in semi-solid state are smaller due to the higher solidification rate and the higher under-cooling degree than as-cast state. 13Trade-offs and Synergies of Ecosystem Services in Karst Area of China Driven by Grain-for-Green Program显示文摘As an important means regulating the relationship between human and natural ecosystem,ecological restoration program plays a key role in restoring ecosystem functions.The Grain-for-Green Program(GFGP,One of the world’s most ambitious ecosystem conservation set-aside programs aims to transfer farmland on steep slopes to forestland or grassland to increase vegetation coverage)has been widely implemented from 1999 to 2015 and exerted significant influence on land use and ecosystem services(ESs).In this study,three ecological models(In VEST,RUSLE,and CASA)were used to accurately calculate the three key types of ESs,water yield(WY),soil conservation(SC),and net primary production(NPP)in Karst area of southwestern China from 1982 to 2015.The impact of GFGP on ESs and trade-offs was analyzed.It provides practical guidance in carrying out ecological regulation in Karst area of China under global climate change.Results showed that ESs and trade-offs had changed dramatically driven by GFGP.In detail,temporally,SC and NPP exhibited an increasing trend,while WY exhibited a decreasing trend.Spatially,SC basically decreased from west to east;NPP basically increased from north to south;WY basically increased from west to east;NPP and SC,SC and WY developed in the direction of trade-offs driven by the GFGP,while NPP and WY developed in the direction of synergy.Therefore,future ecosystem management and restoration policy-making should consider trade-offs of ESs so as to achieve sustainable provision of ESs.WANG Xiaofeng ZHANG Xinrong FENG Xiaoming LIU Shirong YIN Lichang CHEN Yongzhe 2020Chinese Geographical Science2020,30,1:8

16Microstructural evolution of Au-Sn solder prepared by laminate rolling during annealing process显示文摘The microstructural evolution and interfacial reaction of the Au/Sn/Au/Sn/Au/Sn/Au couples were investigated during annealing at 453,523,and 543 K for up to 240 h.The Au/Sn combination formed a rapid diffusion system.Even in rolled Au-Sn solder,three phases,such as AuSn,AuSn2,and AuSn4,were formed.After initial annealing at 453 K,the diffusion layers of AuSn,AuSn2,and AuSn4,which were formed after rolling,expanded gradually and then fully transformed into ζ phase(containing Sn from 10% to 18.5%,mole fraction) and δ(AuSn) phase.As a whole,the microstructure of the couple was stable during annealing at 453 K.The solid-state interfacial reaction was much faster at 523 K than at 453 K.After annealing at 523 K for 6 h,the AuSn,AuSn2,and AuSn4 were fully transformed into the ζ phase and δ phase(AuSn) .In spite of the prolonged annealing time for up to 240 h,no significant change of the interfacial microstructure occurred,and the microstructure of the couple was stable during annealing at 523 K.When annealing at 543 K,however,the interfacial of Au/Sn was transformed into solid-liquid state,and the whole couple formed a eutectic structure rapidly,causing the solder to be brittle.The study results clearly demonstrate that the service temperature of the Au-Sn solder should be lower than 543 K.WEI Xiaofeng WANG Richu FENG Yan ZHU Xuewei PENG Chaoqun 2011Rare Metals2011,30,6:5

19Loading and wrinkling analysis of membrane structures显示文摘Loading analysis,as one of the most crucial procedures in the assessment of safety of the membrane structures,is to check the adequacy of structural stiffness and the extent of membrane stress and deformation,thus ensuring the structural stability and avoiding the wrinkling of membrane structures.In this paper,the analysis procedures are presented and the wrinkling of membrane structure,representing a major behavioral performance of the structure,is included with the modified constitutive relationship method.As for the judgment of the membrane wrinkling,the principal stress-strain criteria are incorporated.Thereafter,an integrated algorithm is developed,in which the Newton-Raphson method and updated Lagrange formulation are adopted.With the proposed algorithm,two fabric roof structures are analyzed.Results show that the presented method is feasible and reliable.YANG QingShan TAN Feng WANG XiaoFeng 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,10:3
20Preparation, microstructure and degradation performance of biomedical magnesium alloy fine wires显示文摘With the development of new biodegradable Mg alloy implant devices, the potential applications of biomedical Mg alloy fine wires are realized and explored gradually. In this study, we prepared three kinds of Mg alloy fine wires containing 4 wt% RE(Gd/Y/Nd) and 0.4 wt% Zn with the diameter less than 0.4 μm through casting, hot extruding and multi-pass cold drawing combined with intermediated annealing process. Their microstructures, mechanical and degradation properties were investigated. In comparison with the corresponding as-extruded alloy, the final fine wire has significantly refined grain with an average size of 3–4 μm, and meanwhile shows higher yield strength but lower ductility at room temperature. The degradation tests results and surface morphologies observations indicate that Mg–4Gd–0.4Zn and Mg–4Nd–0.4Zn fine wires have similar good corrosion resistance and the uniform corrosion behavior in SBF solution.
