| 1 | Correlation of CD105 and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Laser-induced Choroidal Neovascularization in Rats显示文摘Purpose: Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) plays an important role in pathogenesis of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), ocular histoplasmosis syndrome (OHS) and so on. However, mechanisms of CNV formation are not fully understood. The aim of this study is to investigate the correlation between expressions of CD105 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in experimental laser-induced CNV in rats. Methods: CNV model was established by 532 nm laser photocoagulation in Brown-Norway rats. The expression of CD105 and VEGF in CNV was observed by immunohistochemistry at 3, 7, 14, 21, 28 and 56 days after laser photocoagulation. The image analysis was performed with the professional software of Image-Pro Plus. Results: Fluorescein angiography showed fluorescein leakage in CNV from days 7 to 56 after photocoagulation. VEGF expression was mainly observed in vascular endothelial cells, ganglion cells, inner nuclear layers and retinal pigment epithelial cells in normal retina and vascular endothelial cells in normal choroid of the rats. On day 3 after photocoagulation, VEGF began to express in laser-induced lesions. VEGF was strongly expressed in CNV after 7 days (P<0.05) and decreased after 14 days (P>0.05). CD105 was initially presented in CNV at 7 days and obviously expressed at 14 days after photocoagulation (P<0.05). Four weeks later, when angiogenesis tended toward inactive status, expression of CD105 was markedly decreased (P>0.05). There was notablely direct correlation between CD105-positive-microvessel density and positively semiquantitative scoring of VEGF in the CNV(r=0.989, P<0.01). Conclusions: There is direct correlation between the expression of CD105 and VEGF in the laser-induced CNV in rat. | 4 | Start-up of the anammox process from the conventional activated sludge in a hybrid bioreactor显示文摘The anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) process was successfully started up from conventional activated sludge using a hybrid bioreactor within 2 months.The average removal efficiencies of ammonia and nitrite were both over 80%,and the maximum total nitrogen removal rate of 1.85 kg N/(m 3 ·day) was obtained on day 362 with the initial sludge concentration of 0.7 g mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS)/L.Scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation of the granular sludge in the hybrid reactor clearly showed a high degree of compactness and cell sphericity,and the cell size was quite uniform.Transmission electron microscope photos showed that cells were round or oval,the cellular diameter was 0.6-1.0 μm,and the percentage of the anammoxosome compartment was 51%-85% of the whole cell volume.Fluorescence in situ hybridization analysis (FISH) indicated that anammox bacteria became the dominant population in the community (accounting for more than 51% of total bacteria on day 250).Seven planctomycete 16S rRNA gene sequences were present in the 16S rRNA gene clone library generated from the biomass and affiliated to Candidatus Kuenenia stuttgartiensis and Candidatus Brocadia sp.,a new anammox species.In addition,the average effluent suspended solid (MLSS) concentrations of outlets I (above the non-woven carrier) and II (below the non-woven carrier) were 0.0009 and 0.0035 g/L,respectively.This showed that the non-woven carrier could catch the biomass effectively,which increased biomass and improved the nitrogen removal rate in the reactor. | Xiumei Duan Jiti Zhou Sen Qiao Xin Yin Tian Tian Fangdi Xu | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,6: | 3 |

| 6 | Antibacterial and biocompatible properties of vancomycin-loaded nano-hydroxyapatite/collagen/poly(lactic acid) bone substitute显示文摘Infected bone defects are normally regarded as contraindications for bone grafting.In the present study,an antibacterial bone graft substitute was synthesized by loading vancomycin(VCM) in our previously developed mineralized collagen based composite,nano-hydroxyapatite/collagen/poly(lactic acid)(nHAC/PLA),aiming to repair large size bone defects and inhibit related infections simultaneously.The VCM/nHAC/PLA showed typical porous structure with a porosity of(80.7± 6.7)%and compressive strength of 1.52 MPa.The delivery of VCM from VCM/nHAC/PLA was detected in vitro for up to 4weeks.And their antibacterial properties were determined using inhibition ratio assay and inhibition zone assay.Pretty high level of inhibition ratio(more than 99%) was obtained in VCM/nHAC/PLA group.Additionally,a distinct inhibition zone was clearly formed in Staphylococcus aureus bacterium incubation dish with VCM/nHAC/PLA disc for up to 18 days of incubation.Moreover,both of the nHAC/PLA composites with or without VCM exhibited favorable in vitro and in vivo biocompatibilities for rabbit marrow stromal cells(MSCs) adhesion,spreading,proliferation,and triggering no obvious inflammation responses in subcutaneous implantation.Our results suggested that the VCM/nHAC/PLA performed ideal antibacterial property and biocompatibility and has great promise for the treatment of bone defect-related infections in orthopedic surgeries. | Xiaojie Lian Huanye Liu Xiumei Wang Suju Xu Fuzhai Cui Xizhuang Bai | 2013 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2013,23,6: | 2 |

| 10 | Isolation and Neuroprotective Activity of Phenolic Derivatives from the Marine-Derived Fungus Penicillium janthinellum显示文摘A new phenolic compound, 6-(2-acetyl-3,5-dihydroxybenzyl)-4-hydroxy-3-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one(1), along with other six known phenolic derivatives(2-7), were isolated from the mangrove rhizosphere fungus Penicillium janthinellum HK1-6 cultured in potato dextrose broth medium containing 30 g L^(-1) of natural sea salt. The structure of the new compound(1) was elucidated by comprehensive analysis of spectroscopic data including 1D and 2D NMR spectra. The proposed biosynthetic pathway of compound 1 was also studied in this research. Interestingly, a brominated phenolic derivative, aryl bromide(compound 8), was obtained from this fungal strain cultured in medium containing 30 g L^-1 of NaBr instead of natural sea salt. Compound 8 is proposed as a new natural product and formed through bromination of compound 7 when the fungus was cultured with NaBr. The neuroprotective effect of compound 1 on oxygen-glucose deprivation(OGD)-induced injury was investigated in rat spinal cord astrocytes. | 12 | Preparation and Characterization of Poly Lactic Acid/Graphene Oxide/Nerve Growth Factor Scaffold with Electrical Stimulation for Peripheral Nerve Regeneration in vitro显示文摘A novel conductive drug-loading system was prepared by using an improved emulsion electrostatic spinning method which contained polylactic acid (PLA),graphene oxide (GO),and nerve growth factor (NGF) coated with bovine serum albumin (BSA) nanoparticles.Firstly,the structure,mechanical properties,morphology and electrical conductivity of PLA/GO electro spun fiber membranes with different GO ratios were characterized.PLA/GO scaffolds can exhibit superior porosity,hydrophilic and biomechanical properties when the GO incorporation rate is 0.5%.The addition of GO in the PLA/GO electro spun fiber membranes can also create appropriate pH environment for the repair of injured nerve when the GO incorporation rate is above 0.5%.Secondly,PLA/GO/BSA/Genipin/NGF particles (with a ratio of BSA/NGF=3:1) prepared by modified emulsion electro spinning method will release more NGF than PLA/GO/NGF particles.In addition,PLA/0.5%GO/NGF scaffold can maintain its structure stability for at least 8 weeks observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM).Moreover,the degradation of PLA/0.5%GO/NGF scaffold is consistent with its weight loss.Finally,in vitro assay confirmes that PLA/GO composite scaffold exhibits low cytotoxicity to RSC96 cells.Cellular results have demonstrated that PLA/0.5%GO/NGF sustained-release drug sustained-release system with appropriate electrical stimulation (ES) can promote PC12 cell proliferation,and it can maintain its differentiation capability for at least 3 weeks.In conclusion,PLA/0.5%GO/NGF sustained-release drug sustained-release system can maintain its biological activity for at least 3 weeks and promote cell proliferation with appropriate ES. | 徐海星 LI Rui LI Yiping HE Qundi YAN Xiumei SHU Tao YANG Haixia LÜ Yifei LI Zheng XU Runtian 熊承杰 许沛虎 | 2020 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2020,35,6: | 2 |

| 20 | Plasma SCF/c-kit Levels in Patients with Dipper and Non-Dipper Hypertension显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between peripheral plasma stem cell factor (SCF)/c-kit levels and the types of dipper and non-dipper hypertension in hypertensive patients.Methods This cross-sectional study included newly diagnosed hypertensive patients who underwent 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM) between January 2009 and 2012 in Jiangning city. Patients were divided into the dipper group and the non-dipper group according to ABPM measurements. The levels of SCF and its receptor c-kit, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) in peripheral blood were measured via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. The serum levels of glucose and lipid were examined as well. The levels of SCF/c-kit were compared between the dippers and the non-dippers; and their correlation with 24-hour mean systolic blood pressure (MSBP), 24-hour mean diastolic blood pressure (MDBP), TNF-αand IL-6 were investigated using linear regression analyses statistically.Results A total of 247 patients with newly diagnosed hypertension were recruited into the study, including 116 non-dippers and 131 dippers. The levels of peripheral plasma SCF were higher in non-dipper group (907.1±52.7 ng/L vs. 778.7±44.6 ng/L; t=2.837, P<0.01), and the levels of c-kit were higher in non-dipper group too (13.2±1.7 μg/L vs 9.57±1.4 μg/L; t=2.831, P<0.01).
