1Mapping wetland changes in China between 1978 and 2008显示文摘Four wetland maps for all China have been produced,based on Landsat and CBERS-02B remote sensing data between 1978 and 2008 (1978,1990,2000 and 2008).These maps were mainly developed by manual interpretation and validated by substantial field investigation in 2009.Based on these maps,we analyzed the 2008 wetland distribution in China and discussed wetland changes and their drivers over the past 30 years.(i) There were about 324097 km 2 of wetlands in 2008,for which inland marshes or swamps were the most common wetland type (35%),with lakes (26%) second.Most of the wetlands were in Heilongjiang,Inner Mongolia,Qinghai and Tibet,occupying about 55% of the national wetland area.(ii) From 1978 to 2008,China's wetland area continually and significantly decreased,by about 33% based on changes in the wetland map.This was in sharp contrast to the increase in artificial wetlands,which increased by about 122%.Inland marshes accounted for the main loss of total wetlands from 1978 to 2000.From 2000 through 2008,riverine and lacustrine wetlands constituted the main wetland loss.Fortunately however,the rate of wetland loss decreased from 5523 to 831 km 2 /a.(iii) The change ratio of lost natural wetlands (including inland and coastal wetlands) to non-wetlands has decreased slightly over the past 30 years.From 1978 to 1990,nearly all natural wetlands (98%) lost were transformed into non-wetlands.However,the ratio declined to 86% from 1990 to 2000,and to 77% from 2000 to 2008.(iv) All Chinese provinces were divided into three groups according to patterns of wetland changes,which could relate to the driving forces of such changes.Tibet was completely different from other provinces,as it was one representative example in which there was a net wetland increase,because of global warming and decreased human activity since 1990.Increased economic development caused considerable wetland loss in most eastern provinces,and artificial wetlands increased.NIU ZhenGuo ZHANG HaiYing WANG XianWei YAO WenBo ZHOU DeMin ZHAO KuiYi ZHAO Hui LI NaNa HUANG HuaBing LI CongCong YANG Jun LIU CaiXia LIU Shuang WANG Lin LI Zhan YANG ZhenZhong QIAO Fei ZHENG YaoMin CHEN YanLei SHENG YongWei GAO XiaoHong ZHU WeiHong WANG WenQing WANG Hong WENG YongLing ZHUANG DaFang LIU JiYuan LUO ZhiCai CHENG Xiao GUO ZiQi GONG Peng 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,22:51
2Mercury removal from coal combustion flue gas by modified fly ash显示文摘Fly ash is a potential alternative to activated carbon for mercury adsorption. The effects of physicochemical properties on the mercury adsorption performance of three fly ash samples were investigated. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and other methods were used to characterize the samples. Results indicate that mercury adsorption on fly ash is primarily physisorption and chemisorption. High specific surface areas and small pore diameters are beneficial to efficient mercury removal. Incompletely burned carbon is also an important factor for the improvement of mercury removal efficiency, in particular. The C-M bond, which is formed by the reaction of C and Ti, Si and other elements, may improve mercury oxidation. The samples modified with CuBr2 , CuCl 2 and FeCl3 showed excellent performance for Hg removal, because the chlorine in metal chlorides acts as an oxidant that promotes the conversion of elemental mercury (Hg0) into its oxidized form (Hg2+). Cu2+ and Fe3+ can also promote Hg 0 oxidation as catalysts. HCl and O2 promote the adsorption of Hg by modified fly ash, whereas SO2 inhibits the Hg adsorption because of competitive adsorption for active sites. 4Mechanism of Hg^0 oxidation in the presence of HCl over a commercial V_2O_5–WO_3/TiO_2 SCR catalyst显示文摘Experiments were conducted in a fixed-bed reactor containing a commercial V2O5/WO3/TiO2 catalyst to investigate mercury oxidation in the presence of HCl and O2. Mercury oxidation was improved significantly in the presence of HCl and O2, and the Hg0 oxidation efficiencies decreased slowly as the temperature increased from 200 to 400°C. Upon pretreatment with HCl and O2 at 350°C, the catalyst demonstrated higher catalytic activity for Hg0 oxidation. Notably,the effect of pretreatment with HCl alone was not obvious. For the catalyst treated with HCl and O2, better performance was observed with lower reaction temperatures. The results showed that both HCl and Hg0 were first adsorbed onto the catalyst and then reacted with O2 following its adsorption, which indicates that the oxidation of Hg0 over the commercial catalyst followed the Langmuir–Hinshelwood mechanism. Several characterization techniques, including Hg0temperature-programmed desorption(Hg-TPD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), were employed in this work. Hg-TPD profiles showed that weakly adsorbed mercury species were converted to strongly bound species in the presence of HCl and O2. 5Role of NO in Hg^0 oxidation over a commercial selective catalytic reduction catalyst V_2O_5–WO_3/TiO_2显示文摘Experiments were conducted in a fixed-bed reactor that contained a commercial catalyst,V_2O_5–WO_3/TiO_2,to investigate mercury oxidation in the presence of NO and O_2.Mercury oxidation was improved by NO,and the efficiency was increased by simultaneously adding NO and O_2.With NO and O_2 pretreatment at 350°C,the catalyst exhibited higher catalytic activity for Hg^0 oxidation,whereas NO pretreatment did not exert a noticeable effect.Decreasing the reaction temperature boosted the performance of the catalyst treated with NO and O_2.Although NO promoted Hg^0 oxidation at the very beginning,excessive NO counteracted this effect.The results show that NO plays different roles in Hg^0oxidation; NO in the gaseous phase may directly react with the adsorbed Hg^0,but excessive NO hinders Hg^0 adsorption.The adsorbed NO was converted into active nitrogen species(e.g.,NO_2) with oxygen,which facilitated the adsorption and oxidation of Hg^0.Hg^0 was oxidized by NO mainly by the Eley–Rideal mechanism.The Hg^0 temperature-programmed desorption experiment showed that weakly adsorbed mercury species were converted to strongly bound ones in the presence of NO and O_2.Ruihui Liu Wenqing Xu Li Tong Tingyu Zhu 2015Journal of Environmental Sciences2015,27,12:4
6High-throughput screening identifies established drugs as SARS-CoV-2 PLpro inhibitors显示文摘A new coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)has been identified as the etiologic agent for the COVID-19 outbreak.Currently,effective treatment options remain very limited for this disease;therefore,there is an urgent need to identify new anti-COVID-19 agents.In this study,we screened over 6,000 compounds that included approved drugs,drug candidates in clinical trials,and pharmacologically active compounds to identify leads that target the SARS-CoV-2 papain-like protease(PLpro).Together with main protease(Mpro),PLpro is responsible for processing the viral replicase polyprotein into functional units.There-fore,it is an attractive target for antiviral drug develop-ment.Here we discovered four compounds,YM155,cryptotanshinone,tanshinone I and GRL0617 that inhibit SARS-CoV-2 PLpro with IC50 values ranging from 1.39 to 5.63 pmol/L.These compounds also exhibit strong antiviral activities in cell-based assays.YM155,an anti-cancer drug candidate in clinical trials,has the most potent antiviral activity with an EC50 value of 170 nmol/L.In addition,we have determined the crystal structures of this enzyme and its complex with YM155,revealing a unique binding mode.YM155 simultaneously targets three'hot'spots on PLpro,including the substrate-binding pocket,the interferon stimulating gene product 15(ISG15)binding site and zinc finger motif.Our results demonstrate the efficacy of this screening and repur-posing strategy,which has led to the discovery of new drug leads with clinical potential for COVID-19 treatments.Yao Zhao Xiaoyu Du Yinkai Duan Xiaoyan Pan Yifang Sun Tian You Lin Han Zhenming Jin Weijuan Shang Jing Yu Hangtian Guo Qianying Liu Yan Wu Chao Peng Jun Wang Chenghao Zhu Xiuna Yang Kailin Yang Ying Lei Luke W.Guddat Wenqing Xu Gengfu Xiao Lei Sun Leike Zhang Zihe Rao Haitao Yang 2021Protein & Cell2021,12,11:4
7Gut Microbiota Dysbiosis Strengthens Kupffer Cell-mediated Hepatitis B Virus Persistence through Inducing Endotoxemia in Mice显示文摘Background and Aims:Change of gut microbiota com-position is associated with the outcome of hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection,yet the related mechanisms are not fully characterized.The objective of this study was to investigate the immune mechanism associated with HBV persistence induced by gut microbiota dysbiosis.Methods:C57BL/6 mice were sterilized for gut-microbiota by using an antibi-otic(ABX)mixture protocol,and were monitored for their serum endotoxin(lipopolysaccharide[LPS])levels.An HBV-replicating mouse model was established by performing HBV-expressing plasmid pAAV/HBV1.2 hydrodynamic injec-tion(HDI)with or without LPS,and was monitored for se-rum hepatitis B surface antigen,hepatitis B e antigen,HBV DNA,and cytokine levels.Kupffer cells(KCs)were purified from antibiotic-treated mice and HBV-replicating mice and analyzed for IL-10 production and T cell suppression ability.Results:ABX treatment resulted in increased serum LPS levels in mice.The KCs separated from both ABX-treated and LPS-treated HBV-replicating mice showed significantly increased IL-10 production and enhanced ability to suppress IFN-γproduction of TCR-activated T cells than the KCs sep-arated from their counterpart controls.HDI of pAAV/HBV1.2 in combination with LPS in mice led to a delayed HBV clear-ance and early elevation of serum IL-10 levels compared to pAAV/HBV1.2 HDI alone.Moreover,IL-10 function blockade or KC depletion led to accelerated HBV clearance in LPS-treated HBV-replicating mice.Conclusions:Our results suggest that dysbiosis of the gut microbiota in mice leads to endotoxemia,which induces KC IL-10 production and strengthens KC-mediated T cell suppression,and thus fa-cilitates HBV persistence.Wenqing Zhou Jinzhuo Luo Xiaohong Xie Shangqing Yang Dan Zhu Hongming Huang Dongliang Yang Jia Liu 2022Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,1:4
8Combined detection and subclass characteristics analysis of CTCs and CTECs by SE-iFISH in ovarian cancer显示文摘Objective:Hematogenous metastasis is essential for the progression of ovarian cancer(OC),and circulating tumor cells(CTCs)are part of the metastatic cascade.However,the detection rate of CTC is low due to the use of less sensitive detection methods.Therefore,this study aimed to detect CTCs and circulating tumorigenic endothelial cells(CTECs)in patients with OC using subtraction enrichment and immunostaining and fluorescence in situ hybridization(SE-iFISH).Methods:We enrolled a total of 56 subjects,including 20 OC patients and 36 ovarian benign tumor patients.CTCs and CTECs were captured by subtraction enrichment(SE)and counted and classified according to immunofluorescence staining of tumor markers(TMs)carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125)and human epididymis protein 4(HE4)combined with fluorescence in situ hybridization(iFISH)of chromosome 8(Chr8)aneuploidy.The diagnostic value and subtype characteristics of CTCs and CTECs were investigated.Results:The detection rate of CTCs by SE-iFISH was high.Compared with CA125 and HE4,Chr8 aneuploidy was the major identification feature of CTC.CTC counts in OC were statistically higher than those in benign groups.CTC and CTEC with≥pentaploidy were detected in both groups,illustrating the poor diagnostic value of CTC or CTEC.Distributions of triploid and tetraploid CTC subtypes were significantly different,and combined detection of triploid and tetraploid CTCs showed the best diagnostic value.In contrast,the distribution of CTECs in the OC and benign groups had no statistically significant difference.Small CTCs accounted for over 1/3 of the total CTC count.We also found that small CTCs and CTECs primarily comprised triploid cells,while large CTCs and CTECs mainly comprised pentaploidy and beyond.Conclusions:The application of SE-iFISH offered a more comprehensive understanding of heterogeneous CTCs and CTECs in OC.Analysis of subclass characteristics of the CTCs and CTECs according to Chr8 aneuploidy and cell size may broaden their potential clinical utility and deepen mechanistic studies in OC.Hongyan Cheng Shang Wang Wenqing Luan Xue Ye Sha Dou Zhijian Tang Honglan Zhu Peter Ping Lin Yi Li Heng Cui Xiaohong Chang 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,2:3
9Correlation Between Dynamic Compressive Strength and Fracture Behaviors of Bulk Metallic Glasses显示文摘The mechanical behaviors of Zr43.5Cu43.5Ni4Al8Nb1,Zr55.4Cu31.6Ni4Al8Nb1,Ti32.8Zr30.2Ni5.3Cu9Be22.7(at.%)metallic glass at different strain rates were studied.For all the present alloys,the dispersion over 700 MPa was observed on the strength in the repeated dynamic compressions,which was much stronger than that of the quasi-static compressive strength.Such the dispersion of the dynamic compressive strength was well correlated with the corresponding fracture behaviors.The area of fracture surface was calculated and also showed a strong dispersion for all the fractured specimens tested at the strain rate of 500 s^-1 and 1000 s^-1.All the specimens showed a linear relationship between the square of dynamic compressive strength and the area of fracture surface in the dynamic compression tests.This phenomenon was mainly thought to be related to the difference of mean initial free volume concentration of different samples,stress concentration caused by the split Hopkinson pressure bar experimental setup and high sensitivity of defects under dynamic deformation.These findings were beneficial to deeply understand the effect of strain rate on the mechanical properties of the metallic glass.Wenqing Li Zhengwang Zhu Guojie Li Long Zhang Zhengkun Li Huameng Fu Hongwei Zhang Hong Li Aimin Wang Haifeng Zhang 2020Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2020,33,10:2

11Hg^0 removal from flue gas over different zeolites modified by Fe Cl_3显示文摘The elemental mercury removal abilities of three different zeolites(Na A, Na X, HZSM-5)impregnated with iron(Ⅲ) chloride were studied on a lab-scale fixed-bed reactor. X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption porosimetry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and temperature programmed desorption(TPD) analyses were used to investigate the physicochemical properties. Results indicated that the pore structure and active chloride species on the surface of the samples are the key factors for physisorption and oxidation of Hg0, respectively. Relatively high surface area and micropore volume are beneficial to efficient mercury adsorption. The active Cl species generated on the surface of the samples were effective oxidants able to convert elemental mercury(Hg0)into oxidized mercury(Hg2+). The crystallization of Na Cl due to the ion exchange effect during the impregnation of Na A and Na X reduced the number of active Cl species on the surface, and restricted the physisorption of Hg0. Therefore, the Hg0 removal efficiencies of the samples were inhibited. 14Modeling of Nucleation and Growth of M_(23)C_6 Carbide in Multi-component Fe-based Alloy显示文摘Three-dimensional atom probe (3DAP) technique has been used to study the nucleation and growth of M23C6 carbide in a supersaturated multi-component Fe-based alloy aged at 800°C. 3D images indicate that the radius of M23C6 carbide after ageing for 10 min is about 9 nm. Concentration profiles of alloy elements in the carbide are also obtained. Combined with PANDAT and Thermo-Calc software, attempts to model the early stages of precipitation are present.
