Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event.TiPei Li ShaoLin Xiong ShuangNan Zhang FangJun Lu LiMing Song XueLei Cao Zhi Chang Gang Chen Li Chen TianXiang Chen Yong Chen YiBao Chen YuPeng Chen Wei Cui WeiWei Cui JingKang Deng YongWei Dong YuanYuan Du MinXue Fu GuanHua Gao He Gao Min Gao MingYu Ge YuDong Gu Ju Guan ChengCheng Guo DaWei Han Wei Hu Yue Huang Jia Huo ShuMei Jia LuHua Jiang WeiChun Jiang Jing Jin YongJie Jin Bing Li ChengKui Li Gang Li MaoShun Li Wei Li Xian Li XiaoBo Li XuFang Li YanGuo Li ZiJian Li ZhengWei Li XiaoHua Liang JinYuan Liao CongZhan Liu GuoQing Liu HongWei Liu ShaoZhen Liu XiaoJing Liu Yuan Liu YiNong Liu Bo Lu XueFeng Lu Tao Luo Xiang Ma Bin Meng Yi Nang JianYin Nie Ge OU JinLu Qu Na Sai Liang Sun Yin Tan Lian Tao WenHui Tao YouLi Tuo GuoFeng Wang HuanYu Wang Juan Wang WenShuai Wang YuSa Wang XiangYang Wen BoBing WU Mei Wu GuangCheng Xiao He Xu YuPeng Xu LinLi Yan JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang AiMei Zhang ChunLei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang HongMei Zhang Juan Zhang Qiang Zhang Shu Zhang Tong Zhang Wei Zhang WanChang Zhang WenZhao Zhang Yi Zhang Yue Zhang YiFei Zhang YongJie Zhang Zhao Zhang ZiLiang Zhang HaiSheng Zhao JianLing Zhao XiaoFan Zhao ShiJie Zheng Yue Zhu YuXuan Zhu ChangLin Zou 2018Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,3:12

The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. In particular, its wide field monitoring capabilities will be highly instrumental to detect the electro-magnetic counterparts of gravitational wave sources. The paper provides a detailed description of:(1) the technological and technical aspects, and the expected performance of the instruments of the scientific payload;(2) the elements and functions of the mission, from the spacecraft to the ground segment.ShuangNan Zhang Andrea Santangelo Marco Feroci YuPeng Xu FangJun Lu Yong Chen Hua Feng Shu Zhang Sφren Brandt Margarita Hernanz Luca Baldini Enrico Bozzo Riccardo Campana Alessandra De Rosa YongWei Dong Yuri Evangelista Vladimir Karas Norbert Meidinger Aline Meuris Kirpal Nandra Teng Pan Giovanni Pareschi Piotr Orleanski QiuShi Huang Stephane Schanne Giorgia Sironi Daniele Spiga Jiri Svoboda Gianpiero Tagliaferri Christoph Tenzer Andrea Vacchi Silvia Zane Dave Walton ZhanShan Wang Berend Winter Xin Wu Jean J.M.in't Zand Mahdi Ahangarianabhari Giovanni Ambrosi Filippo Ambrosino Marco Barbera Stefano Basso Jörg Bayer Ronaldo Bellazzini Pierluigi Bellutti Bruna Bertucci Giuseppe Bertuccio Giacomo Borghi XueLei Cao Franck Cadoux Francesco Ceraudo TianXiang Chen Yu Peng Chen Jerome Chevenez Marta Civitani Wei Cui WeiWei Cui Thomas Dauser Ettore Del Monte Sergio Di Cosimo Sebastian Diebold Victor Doroshenko Michal Dovciak YuanYuan Du Lorenzo Ducci QingMei Fan Yannick Favre Fabio Fuschino JoséLuis Ga'lvez Min Gao MingYu Ge Olivier Gevin Marco Grassi QuanYing Gu YuDong Gu DaWei Han Bin Hong Wei Hu Long Ji ShuMei Jia WeiChun Jiang Thomas Kennedy Ingo Kreykenbohm Irfan Kuvvetli Claudio Labanti Luca Latronico Gang Li MaoShun Li Xian Li Wei Li ZhengWei Li Olivier Limousin HongWei Liu XiaoJing Liu Bo Lu Tao Luo Daniele Macera Piero Malcovati Adrian Martindale Malgorzata Michalska Bin Meng Massimo Minuti Alfredo Morbidini Fabio Muleri Stephane Paltani Emanuele Perinati Antonino Picciotto Claudio Piemonte JinLu Qu Alexandre Rachevski Irina Rashevskaya Jerome Rodriguez Thomas Schanz ZhengXiang Shen LiZhi Sheng JiangBo Song LiMing Song Carmelo Sgro Liang Sun Ying Tan Phil Uttley Bo Wang DianLong Wang GuoFeng Wang Juan Wang LangPing Wang YuSa Wang Anna L.Watts XiangYang Wen Jörn Wilms ShaoLin Xiong JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang Nian Yu WenDa Zhang Gianluigi Zampa Nicola Zampa Andrzej A.Zdziarski AiMei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang Long Zhang Tong Zhang Yi Zhang XiaoLi Zhang ZiLiang Zhang BaoSheng Zhao ShiJie Zheng Yu Peng Zhou Nicola Zorzi J.Frans Zwart 2019Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,2:11
An overview of design for CSNS/RCS and beam transport显示文摘The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) is the first accelerator-based pulsed neutron source in China. Its accelerators are made up of an 80 MeV H- linac, a Rapid Cycling Synchrotron (RCS) and two beam transport lines. RCS accumulates and accelerates protons to the design energy of 1.6 GeV, and extracts high energy beam to strike the target. The overview of RCS is presented, and the key problems of the physics design are discussed. The two beam transport lines, from linac to RCS and from RCS to the target, are also introduced.WANG Sheng AN YuWen FANG ShouXian HUANG Nan LIU WeiBin LIU YuDong QIN Qing QIU Jing WANG Na XU Gang XU ShouYan YU ChengHui 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,S2:11
Bruceine D inhibits HIF-1α-mediated glucose metabolism in hepatocellular carcinoma by blocking ICAT/β-catenin interaction显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths, characterized by highly hypoxic tumor microenvironment.Hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α)is a major regulator involved in cellular response to changes of oxygen levels, supporting the adaptation of tumor cells to hypoxia.Bruceine D(BD)is an isolated natural quassinoid with multiple anti-cancer effects. Here,we identified BD could significantly inhibit the HIF-1α expression and its subsequently mediated HCC cell metabolism.Using biophysical proteomics approaches,we identified inhibitor of β-catenin and T-cell factor(ICAT)as the functional target of BD.By targeting ICAT,BD disrupted the interaction of bcatenin and ICAT,and promoted β-catenin degradation, which in turn induced the decrease of HIF-1α expression.Furthermore,BD could inhibit HCC cells proliferation and tumor growth in vivo, and knockdown of ICAT substantially increased resistance to BD treatment in vitro. Our data highlight the potential of BD as a modulator of β-catenin/HIF-1α axis mediated HCC metabolism.Rui Huang Lijun Zhang Jinmei Jin Yudong Zhou Hongwei Zhang Chao Lv Dong Lu Ye Wu Hong Zhang Sanhong Liu Hongzhuan Chen Xin Luan Weidong Zhang 2021Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,11:4
Solar heating assisted rapid cleanup of viscous crude oil spills using reduced graphene oxide-coated sponges显示文摘The rapid cleanup of heavy crude oil spills is challenging due to the poor mobility of highly viscous oil.Traditional absorption strategies involve heating oils to a relatively high temperature to reduce their viscosity, but this method is expensive.Herein,a solar-heated reduced graphene oxide(rGO)-wrapped melamine sponge(MS)was proposed to rapidly absorb oil.The prepared rGO-MS exhibited good hydrophobicity and oleophilicity and could be used for the rapid cleanup of oil spills from water. In addition, the excellent photothermal conversion effect of rGO enabled the rGO-MS composite to achieve a solar energy absorption efficiency of 91%.Due to the localized solar energy collection and wetting properties of rGO-MS,viscous oil near the contact region was effectively heated, enabling rapid heavy oil recovery under solar light illumination. This proposed solar heating-assisted viscous oil sorbent has great promise for use in heavy oil spill cleanups in the future.WANG XinZhi LIU Dan CHENG Gong HUANG YuDong HE YuRong 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,8:4
Experimental studies on interaction of water mist with class K fires显示文摘Interaction of water mist with cooking oil fires is studied experimentally and theoretically. A LDV/APV system is used to measure the velocity and diameter of water mist at different pressures in the experiments, and the effect of water mist velocity and diameter on fire extinguishment efficiency is investi-gated. The experimental results show that water mist has excellent surface cooling effect; it can control and extinguish cooking oil fires quickly without re-ignition. The critical temperature (Tfo) is calculated by energy balance equation, and the fire plume momentum is calculated and compared with that of water mist in order to determine the critical velocity (νwy) of fire extinguishment. This paper provides references for cooking oil fires extinguishment with water mist.FANG Yudong ZHANG Yongfeng LIN Lin LIAO Guangxuan HUANG Xin CONG Beihua 2006Chinese Science Bulletin2006,51,24:4
Strontium modulates osteogenic activity of bone cement composed of bioactive borosilicate glass particles by activating Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway显示文摘There is a need for synthetic grafts to reconstruct large bone defects using minimal invasive surgery. Our previous study showed that incorporation of Sr into bioactive borate glass cement enhanced the osteogenic capacity in vivo. However, the amount of Sr in the cement to provide an optimal combination of physicochemical properties and capacity to stimulate bone regeneration and the underlying molecular mechanism of this stimulation is yet to be determined. In this study, bone cements composed of bioactive borosilicate glass particles substituted with varying amounts of Sr(0 mol%to 12 mol%SrO)were created and evaluated in vitro and in vivo. The setting time of the cement increased with Sr substitution of the glass.Upon immersion in PBS,the cement degraded and converted more slowly to HA(hydroxyapatite)with increasing Sr substitution. The released Sr2+modulated the proliferation, differentiation, and mineralization of hBMSCs(human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells)in vitro.Osteogenic characteristics were optimally enhanced with cement(designated BG6Sr)composed of particles substituted with 6mol%SrO.When implanted in rabbit femoral condyle defects,BG6Sr cement supported better peri-implant bone formation and bone-implant contact, comparing to cements substituted with 0mol%or 9mol%SrO.The underlying mechanism is involved in the activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in osteogenic differentiation of hBMSCs.These results indicate that BG6Sr cement has a promising combination of physicochemical properties and biological performance for minimally invasive healing of bone defects.Xu Cui Yadong Zhang Jianyun Wang Chengcheng Huang Yudong Wang Hongsheng Yang Wenlong Liu Ting Wang Deping Wang Guocheng Wang Changshun Ruan Dafu Chen William W.Lu Wenhai Huang Mohamed N.Rahaman Haobo Pan 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,2:3
Modes of genetic adaptations underlying functional innovations in the rumen显示文摘The rumen is the hallmark organ of ruminants and hosts a diverse ecosystem of microorganisms that facilitates efficient digestion of plant fibers. We analyzed 897 transcriptomes from three Cetartiodactyla lineages:ruminants, camels and cetaceans,as well as data from ruminant comparative genomics and functional assays to explore the genetic basis of rumen functional innovations. We identified genes with relatively high expression in the rumen,of which many appeared to be recruited from other tissues. These genes show functional enrichment in ketone body metabolism, regulation of microbial community, and epithelium absorption, which are the most prominent biological processes involved in rumen innovations.Several modes of genetic change underlying rumen functional innovations were uncovered, including coding mutations, genes newly evolved, and changes of regulatory elements. We validated that the key ketogenesis rate-limiting gene(HMGCS2)with five ruminant-specific mutations was under positive selection and exhibits higher synthesis activity than those of other mammals. Two newly evolved genes(LYZ1 and DEFB1)are resistant to Gram-positive bacteria and thereby may regulate microbial community equilibrium.Furthermore,we confirmed that the changes of regulatory elements accounted for the majority of rumen gene recruitment. These results greatly improve our understanding of rumen evolution and organ evo-devo in general.Xiangyu Pan Yudong Cai Zongjun Li Xianqing Chen Rasmus Heller Nini Wang Yu Wang Chen Zhao Yong Wang Han Xu Songhai Li Ming Li Cunyuan Li Shengwei Hu Hui Li Kun Wang Lei Chen Bin Wei Zhuqing Zheng Weiwei Fu Yue Yang Tingting Zhang Zhuoting Hou Yueyang Yan Xiaoyang Lv Wei Sun Xinyu Li Shisheng Huang Lixiang Liu Shengyong Mao Wenqing Liu Jinlian Hua Zhipeng Li Guojie Zhang Yulin Chen Xihong Wang Qiang Qiu Brian PDalrymple Wen Wang Yu Jiang 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,1:3

Highly active and sintering-resistant heteroepitaxy of Au nanoparticles on ZnO nanowires for CO oxidation显示文摘Gold was supported on commercial ZnO powders(P) and homemade ZnO nanowires(NWs) by a modified deposition–precipitation method. X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy investigation indicated that the size of the Au nanoparticles(NPs) depended strongly on the calcination temperature. The Au NPs were highly dispersed(< 5 nm) on both supports with calcination temperatures < 400 °C.However, after calcination at 600 °C the Au NPs aggregated much more severely on ZnO P than on ZnO NWs. Gold NPs epitaxially grew into the {10–10} facets of the ZnO NWs after calcination at temperatures > 400 °C. Such unique anchoring mechanism accounts for the much better experimentally observed sintering resistance. X-ray photoelectron spectra showed that Au existed as both metallic Au0 and Auδ+species in all the synthesized catalysts with or without calcination treatment; the ratios of Auδ+/Au0,however, varied, depending on the treatment conditions. Catalytic tests showed that the activity for CO oxidation strongly depended on the size of the Au NPs. After calcination at 600 °C, the specific rate for CO oxidation at room temperature decreased about 30 times on Au/ZnO P but only about 4 times on Au/ZnO NW. Stability tests demonstrated that the Au/ZnO NW catalysts had better stability for CO oxidation.Jiaxin Liu Botao Qiao Yian Song Hailian Tang Yudong Huang Jingyue(Jimmy) Liu 2016Journal of Energy Chemistry2016,25,3:2

Rapid and user-friendly open-source CRISPR/Cas9 system for single-or multi-site editing of tomato genome显示文摘CRISPR/Cas9-induced genome editing is a powerful tool for studying gene function in a variety of organisms, including plants.Using multi-sgRNAs to target one or more genes is helpful to improve the efficacy of gene editing and facilitate multi-gene editing. Here,we describe a CRISPR/Cas9 system which can be conveniently developed as a CRISPR kit.SgRNA expression cassettes can be rapidly generated by one-step PCR using our CRISPR kit.In our kit, there are two binary vectors pHNCas9 and pHNCas9HT.The binary vector pHNCas9 was constructed to allow to assemble up to eight sgRNA expression cassettes by one-step Golden Gate cloning.Another binary vector pHNCas9HT can be used to generate a large number of single target constructs by directly transforming ligation reactions products into A.tumefaciens without several procedures, such as PCR and plasmid extraction. The two binary vectors are designed according to the principles of standard BioBrick assembly to be used as an open-source tool. For example,we used BioBrick as a visual T-DNA tag.We also developed a primer design aid to complement the system. With this primer design aid, researchers can rapidly obtain primers and GC content, and sgRNA sequence of target site. Our CRISPR/Cas9 system can perform single-and multi-site editing and multiple gene editing to produce various types of mutations in tomato. This rapid and user-friendly CRISPR/Cas9 system for tomato can be potentially used for mutagenesis of important crop species for genetic improvement and is suitable for research into the function of genes.Nan Hu Zhiqiang Xian Ning Li Yudong Liu Wei Huang Fang Yan Deding Su Jingxuan Chen Zhengguo Li 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:2
An atlas of CNV maps in cattle, goat and sheep显示文摘Copy number variation(CNV)is the most prevalent type of genetic structural variation that has been recognized as an important source of phenotypic variation in humans, animals and plants. However, the mechanisms underlying the evolution of CNVs and their function in natural or artificial selection remain unknown. Here,we generated CNV region(CNVR)datasets which were diverged or shared among cattle, goat, and sheep, including 886 individuals from 171 diverse populations.Using 9 environmental factors for genome-wide association study(GWAS),we identified a series of candidate CNVRs,including genes relating to immunity, tick resistance,multi-drug resistance, and muscle development. The number of CNVRs shared between species is significantly higher than expected(P<0.00001),and these CNVRs may be more persist than the single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)shared between species. We also identified genomic regions under long-term balancing selection and uncovered the potential diversity of the selected CNVRs close to the important functional genes. This study provides the evidence that balancing selection might be more common in mammals than previously considered, and might play an important role in the daily activities of these ruminant species.Yongzhen Huang Yunjia Li Xihong Wang Jiantao Yu Yudong Cai Zhuqing Zheng Ran Li Shunjin Zhang Ningbo Chen Hojjat Asadollahpour Nanaei Quratulain Hanif Qiuming Chen Weiwei Fu Chao Li Xiukai Cao Guangxian Zhou Shudong Liu Sangang He Wenrong Li Yulin Chen Hong Chen Chuzhao Lei Mingjun Liu Yu Jiang 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,10:2
