12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 2基于逻辑回归模型的泥石流易发性评价与检验:以金沙江上游奔子栏—昌波河段为例显示文摘基于地理信息系统(Arc GIS10.0)平台和小流域单元,采用逻辑回归(LR)模型对金沙江上游(奔子栏—昌波河段)干热河谷区进行泥石流易发性评价,并对预测结果进行总体检验与随机个案检验。评价与检验结果表明,得到的最优指标组合下LR评价模型的AUC值为82.7%;预测的极高易发区、高易发区面积合占全区面积的35.98%,实发泥石流面积占泥石流总面积的65.03%;在个案检验中,位于各等级分区的检验组样本实发泥石流比例随着分区易发性等级降低,依次为91.7%(极高)、75.0%(高)、36.4%(中等)、16.7%(低)、0(极低),表明评价效果良好。研究区泥石流集中发育于金沙江沿岸的东北部、中部和西南部,主导性的评价指标依次为距主干道路距离、岩性、距断裂带距离、雨季月平均降雨量。人类活动与季节性降雨为研究区干热河谷泥石流的主要诱发条件。基于逻辑回归模型的泥石流易发性评价方法提高了泥石流发生可能性的预测精度,可为干热河谷区泥石流预测预警和防治提供参考依据。吴赛儿 陈剑 ZHOU Wendy 高玉欣 徐能雄 2018现代地质2018,32,3:14
3Effectiveness of predicting tunneling-induced ground settlements using machine learning methods with small datasets显示文摘Prediction of tunneling-induced ground settlements is an essential task,particularly for tunneling in urban settings.Ground settlements should be limited within a tolerable threshold to avoid damages to aboveground structures.Machine learning(ML)methods are becoming popular in many fields,including tunneling and underground excavations,as a powerful learning and predicting technique.However,the available datasets collected from a tunneling project are usually small from the perspective of applying ML methods.Can ML algorithms effectively predict tunneling-induced ground settlements when the available datasets are small?In this study,seven ML methods are utilized to predict tunneling-induced ground settlement using 14 contributing factors measured before or during tunnel excavation.These methods include multiple linear regression(MLR),decision tree(DT),random forest(RF),gradient boosting(GB),support vector regression(SVR),back-propagation neural network(BPNN),and permutation importancebased BPNN(PI-BPNN)models.All methods except BPNN and PI-BPNN are shallow-structure ML methods.The effectiveness of these seven ML approaches on small datasets is evaluated using model accuracy and stability.The model accuracy is measured by the coefficient of determination(R2)of training and testing datasets,and the stability of a learning algorithm indicates robust predictive performance.Also,the quantile error(QE)criterion is introduced to assess model predictive performance considering underpredictions and overpredictions.Our study reveals that the RF algorithm outperforms all the other models with the highest model prediction accuracy(0.9)and stability(3.0210^(-27)).Deep-structure ML models do not perform well for small datasets with relatively low model accuracy(0.59)and stability(5.76).The PI-BPNN architecture is proposed and designed for small datasets,showing better performance than typical BPNN.Six important contributing factors of ground settlements are identified,including tunnel depth,the distance between tunnel face and surface monitoring points(DTM),weighted average soil compressibility modulus(ACM),grouting pressure,penetrating rate and thrust force.Linan Liu Wendy Zhou Marte Gutierrez 2022Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2022,14,4:5
4Self-management interventions for adults with stroke:A scoping review显示文摘Background:Stroke is a principal cause of mortality and disability globally.Numerous studies have contributed to the knowledge base regarding self-management interventions among chronic disease patients,but there are few such studies for patients with stroke.Therefore,it is necessary to analyze self-management interventions among stroke patients.This scoping review aimed to systematically identify and describe randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of self-management interventions for adults with stroke.Methods:A review team carried out a scoping review on stroke and self-management interventions based on the methodology of Arksey and O’Malley,following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews(PRISMA-ScR).PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,CINAHL Plus Full Text,Medline Plus Full Text,and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched from inception to July 2020.Results:Fifty-four RCTs were included.The most popular study design is comparing a self-management intervention to usual care or waitlist control condition.Physical activity is the most common intervention topic,and interventions were mainly delivered face to face.The majority of interventions were located in inpatient and multiple settings.Interventions were conducted by various providers,with nurses the most common provider group.Symptom management was the most frequently reported outcome domain that improved.Conclusions:Self-management interventions benefit the symptom management of stroke patients a lot.The reasonable time for intervention is at least 6-12 months.Multifarious intervention topics,delivery formats,and providers are adopted mostly to meet the multiple needs of this population.Physical activity was the most popular topic currently.Studies comparing the effect of different types of self-management interventions are required in the future.Suebsarn Ruksakulpiwat Wendie Zhou 2021Chronic Diseases and Translational Medicine2021,7,3:2

7Brain-targeting,acid-responsive antioxidant nanoparticles for stroke treatment and drug delivery显示文摘Stroke is the leading cause of death and disability.Currently,there is no effective pharmacological treatment for this disease,which can be partially attributed to the inability to efficiently deliver therapeutics to the brain.Here we report the development of natural compound-derived nanoparticles(NPs),which function both as a potent therapeutic agent for stroke treatment and as an efficient carrier for drug delivery to the ischemic brain.First,we screened a collection of natural nanomaterials and identified betulinic acid(BA)as one of the most potent antioxidants for stroke treatment.Next,we engineered BA NPs for preferential drug release in acidic ischemic tissue through chemically converting BA to betulinic amine(BAM)and for targeted drug delivery through surface conjugation of AMD3100,a CXCR4 antagonist.The resulting AMD3100-conjugated BAM NPs,or A-BAM NPs,were then assessed as a therapeutic agent for stroke treatment and as a carrier for delivery of NA1,a neuroprotective peptide.We show that intravenous administration of A-BAM NPs effectively improved recovery from stroke and its efficacy was further enhanced when NA1 was encapsulated.Due to their multifunctionality and significant efficacy,we anticipate that A-BAM NPs have the potential to be translated both as a therapeutic agent and as a drug carrier to improve the treatment of stroke.Shenqi Zhang Bin Peng Zeming Chen Jiang Yu Gang Deng Youmei Bao Chao Ma Fengyi Du Wendy C.Sheu W.Taylor Kimberly J.Marc Simard Daniel Coman Qianxue Chen Fahmeed Hyder Jiangbing Zhou Kevin N.Sheth 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,10:1

14Therapeutic effect of Qinghuayin(清化饮)against chronic atrophic gastritis through the inhibition of toll or interleukin-1 receptor domain-containing adaptor inducing interferon-β signaling pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To examine the efficacy of Qinghuayin(清化饮,QHY)in rat chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG)models and explored the molecular mechanism of QHY in treating CAG.METHODS:In total,65 Wistar rats were randomly divided into the control(n=10)and CAG groups(n=55).CAG model rats were further divided into five groups:model(n=10),vitacoenzyme(n=10),low-dose QHY(n=10),medium-dose QHY(n=10),and high-dose QHY groups(n=10).We analyzed histopathological changes using hematoxylin and eosin staining and measured interleukin(IL)-6 and IL-8 levels in serum using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)(Boster Bio,Pleasanton,USA).In addition,gastrin(GAS),pepsinogen I(PGI),and PGII expressions were evaluated using ELISA.The protein and m RNA expression of toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)and toll or interleukin-1 receptor domaincontaining adaptor inducing interferon-β(TRIF)was detected by Western blotting and quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction,respectively.RESULTS:Our results revealed that histopathological changes in CAG model rates could be restored by low-,medium-,and high-dose QHY.The changes in GAS and PGI/II expression demonstrated that QHY improved CAG.Serum IL-6 and IL-levels were decreased by QHY administration.TLR4 and TRIF were upregulated at the m RNA and protein levels in the model group but downregulated by QHY administration.CONCLUSION:We concluded that QHY could effectively improve the histopathological changes of the gastric mucosa induced by CAG in rats.The therapeutic mechanism of QHY may be related to inhibition of the inflammatory factors IL-6 and IL-8 and suppression of TLR4/TRIF m RNA and protein expression.HE Youcheng YAO Xiaoling LI Sihan ZHOU Hongjian XU Ruoying ZHENG Rong XIAO Wendi SU Ning LIN Ping HUANG Minghan 2022Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2022,42,2:1

16Whole-genome methylation analysis reveals epigenetic variation between wild-type and nontransgenic cloned,ASMT transgenic cloned dairy goats generated by the somatic cell nuclear transfer显示文摘Background:SCNT(somatic cell nuclear transfer)is of great significance to biological research and also to the livestock breeding.However,the survival rate of the SCNT cloned animals is relatively low compared to other transgenic methods.This indicates the potential epigenetic variations between them.DNA methylation is a key marker of mammalian epigenetics and its alterations will lead to phenotypic differences.In this study,ASMT(acetylserotonin-Omethyltransferase)ovarian overexpression transgenic goat was produced by using SCNT.To investigate whether there are epigenetic differences between cloned and WT(wild type)goats,WGBS(whole-genome bisulfite sequencing)was used to measure the whole-genome methylation of these animals.Results:It is observed that the different m Cp G sites are mainly present in the intergenic and intronic regions between cloned and WT animals,and their CG-type methylation sites are strongly correlated.DMR(differentially methylated region)lengths are located around 1000 bp,mainly distributed in the exonic,intergenic and intronic functional domains.A total of 56 and 36 DMGs(differentially methylated genes)were identified by GO and KEGG databases,respectively.Functional annotation showed that DMGs were enriched in biological-process,cellularcomponent,molecular-function and other signaling pathways.A total of 10 identical genes related to growth and development were identified in GO and KEGG databases.Conclusion:The differences in methylation genes among the tested animals have been identified.A total of 10 DMGs associated with growth and development were identified between cloned and WT animals.The results indicate that the differential patterns of DNA methylation between the cloned and WT goats are probably caused by the SCNT.These novel observations will help us to further identify the unveiled mechanisms of somatic cell cloning technology,particularly in goats.Hao Wu Wendi Zhou Haijun Liu Xudai Cui Wenkui Ma Haixin Wu Guangdong Li Likai Wang Jinlong Zhang Xiaosheng Zhang Pengyun Ji Zhengxing Lian Guoshi Liu 2023Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,1:0
