Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 4 | Enrichment, expansion, and identification of stem-like cells from hepatic carcinoma HepG2 cells显示文摘Objective:To establish a method for enriching, culturing and identifying stem-like subpopulation from human hepatic carcinoma cells, and to explore its biological properties.Methods:HepG2cells were cultured in cancer stem cell(CSC)medium to form spheroids. The stem-like HepG2cells obtained from tumor spheroids were then expanded.Flow cytometry was used to detect the expression of CD90 and CD133on the surface of stem-like HepG2 cells. The in vitro colony forming ability and in vivo tumorigenicity were detected by clone formation assay and tumorigenesis assay.Results:HepG2cells could grow in suspension and form spheroids in CSC medium. The stem-like cells had the ability of self-renewal and proliferation. The expression of CD90and CD133on the surface of these stem-like cells were higher than those of parental HepG2cells(P<0.01).The colony formation ability of stem-like cells was higher than that of parental HepG2cells.When injected with 1×106 cells, stemlike cells could form tumors earlier than parental cells in nude mice. The stem-like cells’tumorigenesis rate was higher and the tumor size was larger than those of parental HepG2cells(P<0.01).Conclusion:The suspension sphere culture method could enrich stem-like cells from HepG2cells.The obtained stem-like cells possessed the properties of self-renewal in vitro and tumorigenicity in vivo. | Biyu Cui Yebing Pang Xuehui Zhang Jing Lan Xilei Li Manya Wu Xing Guo Rong Liang Yan Feng Xiaoling Luo | 2017 | 广西医科大学学报2017,34,1: | 0
The paleoclimate environment and recent sea level change on the seashores of Thailand Gulf in Southeast Asia显示文摘This paper analyzed and researched on several significant natural geological sections from the views of stratum-sequence stratigraphy, climate stratigraphy, event stratigraphy and regional stratigraphy by the investigation of Thailand,Malaysia and Singapore. In combination with the coupling relationship between the life-temperature of regional life zone and the evolution of geological environment, this paper exactly made out the geological sediment records of paleoclimate times in different time scales of 3 kaBP,1 kaBP and 0.5 kaBP since the past glacier age of Quaternary period, and it is consecutive and authentic for the material medium and time joint. These studies definitely reflected that the sea level of Thailand Gulf area is in tendency of continually dropping in recent years. They also provided important and new information for the global change analysis. | Hu Dongsheng Li Xiaoyu Pang Xilei Tian Xinhong Zhang Guowei | 2014 | Engineering Sciences2014,12,1: | 0
Novel liquid scintillator radon detector显示文摘Purpose Radon is a noble gas, which endangers our health. The liquid scintillator is one of the detector materials used to measure radon in the environment. But there are challenges in measuring radon using a liquid scintillator, such as independent manual operation and long measurement periods. Methods and Results We propose a liquid scintillator detector for the rapid measurement of radon, which is composed of a breathable liquid scintillator probe and photomultiplier tube.Cascade decay recognition and pulse shape discrimination(PSD)were used to select radon events.241 Am4(α)and 90Sr(β)source calibration was used to optimize the PSDfigure of merit of the liquid scintillator, and a 232Th(220Rn)diffusion source was used to verify the function of this novel detector for measuring radon. Conclusion The detector had an integrated design for sampling and measurement, which simplified the measurement steps. Thus, this novel liquid scintillator detector demonstrated promise for use in radon-detection systems. | Junjie Li Xilei Sun Jiaxuan Ye Baohua Qi Xin Ling Yong Deng Dejing Du Xiaoxue Fan Fengbo Gu Xiaohui Qi Huan Jiang Chenger Wang Zhihang Zhu Guopu Qu | 2022 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2022,6,3: | 0
Prediction of high-density polyethylene pyrolysis using kinetic parameters based on thermogravimetric and artificial neural networks显示文摘Pyrolysis is considered an attractive option and a promising way to dispose waste plastics. The thermogravimetric experiments of high-density polyethylene(HDPE)were conducted from 105℃ to 900℃ at different heating rates(10℃/min,20℃/min,and 30℃/min)to investigate their thermal pyrolysis behavior. We investigated four methods including three model-free methods and one modelfitting method to estimate dynamic parameters.Additionally,an artificial neural network model was developed by providing the heating rates and temperatures to predict the weight loss(wt.%)of HDPE,and optimized via assessing mean squared error and determination coefficient on the test set.The optimal MSE(2.6297×10^(−2))and R^(2) value(R^(2)>0.999)were obtained.Activation energy and preexponential factor obtained from four different models achieves the acceptable value between experimental and predicted results. The relative error of the model increased from 2.4%to 6.8%when the sampling frequency changed from 50 s to 60 s,but showed no significant difference when the sampling frequency was below 50 s.This result provides a promising approach to simplify the further modelling work and to reduce the required data storage space. This study revealed the possibility of simulating the HDPE pyrolysis process via machine learning with no significant accuracy loss of the kinetic parameters. It is hoped that this work could potentially benefit to the development of pyrolysis process modelling of HDPE and the other plastics. | Xiaoxiao Yin Junyu Tao Guanyi Chen Xilei Yao Pengpeng Luan Zhanjun Cheng Ning Li Zhongyue Zhou Beibei Yan | 2023 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,1: | 0
Ultra-fast phosphating synthesis of metastable crystalline phase-controllable ultra-small MPX/CNT(M = Pd, Pt, Ru) for polyalcohol electrooxidation显示文摘A general approach is reported for ultra-fast phosphating synthesis of a series of ultra-small(<5 nm)noble metal phosphides(MPX/CNT,M=Pd,Pt,Ru)which are successfully produced in just 75 s for the first time. The catalytic performance of the catalysts can be optimized by controlling the nanomaterials as the metastable crystalline phases.By altering the phosphorus source under the same conditions, the hexagonal structured Pd_(7)P_(3)(NaH_(2)PO_(2).H_(2)O as P source)and monoclinic structured Pd_(6)P(Na_(4)P_(2)O_(7) as P source)can be prepared successfully. Both of them exhibit excellent polyol oxidation performance in alkaline media.Monoclinic Pd_(6)P/CNT and hexagonal Pd_(7)P_(3)/CNT have large ECSA which are confirmed as 82.1 m2 g^(-1)and 86.2 m2 g^(-1),respectively.Hexagonal Pd_(7)P_(3)/CNT has the highest mass activity of 6.14 A mgPd^(-1)(3.21 A mgPd^(-1)for Pd_(6)P/CNT)for GOR,which far exceeded Pt/C(2.81 A mgPt^(-1)).Meanwhile,the mass activity of monoclinic Pt_(5)P_(2)/CNT for EGOR achieved 12.4 A mg_(Pt)^(-1),which far exceeded Pt/C(6.8 A mg_(Pt)^(-1)).The stability test proved that the activity decay of these catalysts was negligible after the 12-hour durability test.Meanwhile, they have excellent CO anti-poisoning abilities. | Yan Zhang Dan Zhang Yingnan Qin Juan Xiong Jiao Liu Wenhao Yu Xilei Chen Suping Li Jianping Lai Lei Wang | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,9: | 0
