1Chemotherapy and target therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma:New advances and challenges显示文摘Primary liver cancer is one of the commonest causes of death.Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) accounts for 90% of primary liver cancers.For patients with unresectable or metastatic HCC,conventional chemotherapy is of limited or no benefit.Sorafenib is the only systemic treatment to demonstrate a statistically significant but modest overall survival benefit,leading to an era of targeted agents.Many clinical trials of targeted drugs have been carried out with many more in progress.Some drugs like PTK787 showed potential benefits in the treatment of HCC.Despite these promising breakthroughs,patients with HCC still have a dismal prognosis.Recently,both a phase Ⅲ trial of everolimus and a phase Ⅱ clinical trial of trebananib failed to demonstrate effective antitumor activity in advanced HCC.Sorafenib still plays a pivotal role in advanced HCC,leading to further explorations to exert its maximum efficacy.Combinations targeted with chemotherapy or transarterial chemoembolization is now being tested and might bring about advances.New targeted agents such as mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitors are under investigation,as well as further exploration of the mechanism of hepatocarcinogenesis.Gan-Lu Deng Shan Zeng Hong Shen 2015World Journal of Hepatology2015,7,5:30
2Gender and metabolic differences of gallstone diseases显示文摘AIM:To investigate the risk factors for gallstone disease in the general population of Chengdu,China. METHODS:This study was conducted at the West China Hospital.Subjects who received a physical examination at this hospital between January and December 2007 were included.Body mass index,blood pressure,fasting plasma glucose,serum lipid and lipoproteins concentrations were analyzed.Gallstone disease was diagnosed by ultrasound or on the basis of a history of cholecystectomy because of gallstone disease.Unconditional logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the risk factors for gallstone disease,and the Chi-square test was used to analyze differences in the incidence of metabolic disorders between subjects with and without gallstone disease. RESULTS:A total of 3573 people were included, 10.7%(384/3573)of whom had gallstone diseases. Multiple logistic regression analysis indicated that the incidence of gallstone disease in subjects aged 40-64 or≥65 years was significantly different from that in those aged 18-39 years(P<0.05);the incidence was higher in women than in men(P<0.05).In men,a high level of fasting plasma glucose was obvious in gallstone disease(P<0.05),and in women, hypertriglyceridemia or obesity were significant in gallstone disease(P<0.05).Hui Sun Hong Tang Shan Jiang Li Zeng En-Qiang Chen Tao-You Zhou You-Juan Wang 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,15:25

5Identification of coastal wetlands of international importance for waterbirds:a review of China Coastal Waterbird Surveys 2005–2013显示文摘Background:China's coastal wetlands belong to some of the most threatened ecosystems worldwide.The loss and degradation of these wetlands seriously threaten waterbirds that depend on wetlands.Methods:The China Coastal Waterbird Census was organized by volunteer birdwatchers in China's coastal region.Waterbirds were surveyed synchronously once every month at 14 sites,as well as irregularly at a further 18 sites,between September 2005 and December 2013.Results:A total of 75 species of waterbirds met the 1 % population level Ramsar listing criterion at least once at one site.The number of birds of the following species accounted for over 20 % of the total flyway populations at a single site:Mute Swan(Cygnus olor),Siberia Crane(Grus leucogeranus),Far Eastern Oystercatcher(Haematopus osculans),Bar-tailed Godwit(Limosa lapponica),Spotted Greenshank(Tringa guttifer),Great Knot(Calidris tenuirostris),Spoon-billed Sandpiper(Calidris pygmeus),Saunders' s Gull(Larus saundersi),Relict Gull(Larus relictus),Great Cormorant(Phalacrocorax carbo),Eurasian Spoonbill(Platalea leucorodia),Black-faced Spoonbill(Platalea minor) and Dalmatian Pelican(Pelecanus crispus).A total of 26 sites supported at least one species of which their number met the1 % criterion.Forty-two species met the 1 % criterion in the Yellow River Delta,Shandong;29 at the Cangzhou coast,Hebei and 26 species at the Lianyungang coast,Jiangsu.Conclusions:The results highlight the international importance of China's coastal wetlands for waterbirds.This study also demonstrates that participation of local birdwatchers in waterbird surveys results in data that are invaluable not only for understanding the current status of waterbirds in China's coastal regions but also for waterbird conservation and management.Qingquan Bai Jianzhong Chen Zhihong Chen Guotai Dong Jiangtian Dong Wenxiao Dong Vivian Wing Kan Fu Yongxiang Han Gang Lu Jing Li Yang Liu Zhi Lin Derong Meng Jonathan Martinez Guanghui Ni Kai Shan Renjie Sun Suixing Tian Fengqin Wang Zhiwei Xu Yat-tung Yu Jin Yang Zhidong Yang Lin Zhang Ming Zhang Xiangwu Zeng 2015Chinese Birds2015,,3:20

10Design and test of operation parameters for rice air broadcasting by unmanned aerial vehicle显示文摘Considering the difficulty of broadcasting in the small plots and complex terrain in South China,this research aimed to explore a new efficient broadcasting way and figure out advisable operation parameters by using a hollow 12-axis,rotor-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)which is typically made up of four groups of solid support structure,with each consisting of three axes and two rotor wings.A 3.7 L reverse pyramid-shape seed hopper with a 60 mm×13 mm rectangular outlet at the bottom was designed to realize self-gravity seeding.Rice seed firstly directly falls on the rotating disc driven by direct-current dynamo before being sown.The disc was located 120 mm above the ground,with a diameter of 350 mm.Under constant flight conditions,parameters of the on-board broadcasting devices(dropping speed referring to speed for the outlet and the broadcasting speed for the disc’s rotation speed)determine the uniformity of air broadcasting.The FUTABA T8FG transmitter and receiver system were employed as the remote control device.When the UAV flies at 3 m/s and 2 m above the ground with an expected seeding of 180 grain/m^(2),the RD(Right Down)knob marked 29 and LD(Left Down)knob marked-24 with a disc rotation speed of 900 r/min,the broadcasting lasts for 15 seconds with a 25%opening(1.95 cm^(2))of rectangular outlet.In order to verify the feasibility of air broadcasting parameters,the project team carried out a field broadcasting test by using a hollow multi-rotor UAV at Zhongluotan Test Base in Guangzhou in July,2014.In the square field plots of 0.09 hm^(2),flying path of air broadcasting operation was designed.The collected sampling data of broadcasting quantity per unit area after the test showed that there were,on average,187.4 grains/m^(2)of the five sampling points with a standard deviation of 22.77,and a coefficient of variation of 12.15%which was far smaller than that of artificial broadcasting.The average yield of field broadcasted by UAV is 7705.5 kg/hm^(2)in 2014,implying that rice air broadcasting by UAV is feasible.Li Jiyu Lan Yubin Zhou Zhiyan Zeng Shan Huang Cong Yao Weixiang Zhang Yang Zhu Qiuyang 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,5:10

12Lotus seed skin proanthocyanidin extract exhibits potent antioxidant property via activation of the Nrf2-ARE pathway显示文摘Lotus seed is well known as traditional food and medicine,but its skin is usually discarded.Recent studies have shown that lotus seed skin contains a high concentration of proanthocyanidins that have multi-functions,such as antioxidation,anti-inflammation,and anti-cancer effects.In the present study,we aimed to isolate and purify the proanthocyanidins from lotus seed skin by acetone extraction and rotary evaporation,identify their chemical structures by HPLC-MS-MS and NMR,and further investigate the antioxidant properties of the extract purified by macroporous resin (PMR) from lotus seed skin both in vitro and in vivo.The results showed that PMR mainly contained oligomeric proanthocyanidins,especially dimeric procyanidin B1 (PB1),procyanidin B2 and procyanidin B4.Although it had limited ability to directly scavenge radicals in vitro,PMR could significantly enhance the expressions of antioxidant proteins via activation of nuclear factory-related factor 2 (Nrf2)-antioxidant response element (ARE) pathway in HepG2 cells.Molecular data revealed that PB1,a major component in PMR,stabilized Nrf2 by inhibiting the ubiquitination of Nrf2,which led to subsequent activation of the Nrf2-ARE pathway,including the enhancements of Nrf2 nuclear translocation,Nrf2-ARE binding and ARE transcriptional activity.Moreover,the in vivo results in high fat diet-induced mice further verified the powerful antioxidant property of PMR.These results revealed that lotus seed skin is a promising resource for functional food development.Tao Li Qili Li Weiguo Wu Yong Li De-xing Hou Hua Xu Baodong Zheng Shaoxiao Zeng Yang Shan Xiangyang Lu Fangming Deng Si Qin 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,1:8
13Integrin-linked kinase overexpression promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition via nuclear factor-κB signaling in colorectal cancer cells显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of integrin-linked kinase(ILK) on proliferation, metastasis, and invasion of the colorectal cancer cell line SW480. METHODS: In this study, the colorectal cancer cell line SW480 was stably transfected with ILK plasmids, and small interfering RNA(si RNA) was used to knockdown expression of nuclear factor(NF)-κB/p65. Methylthiazole tetrazolium(MTT) assay was performed to measure proliferation, and the wound healing migration assay and matrigel invasion assay were used to test the metastasis and invasion ability of SW480 cells. To explore the epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT) process, embryonic development, and the invasion and metastasis of tumors, the protein level of E-cadherin, vimentin, snail, and slug was detected by western blot. Immunofluorescence was also used to detect E-cadherin expression. Western blot was used to determine the level of phosphorylated-inhibitor of kappa B(IκB)a, inhibitor of gamma B(IγB)a, and nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB) expressions and toexplore the ILK signaling pathway. RESULTS: Western blot results revealed that ILK expression significantly increased when ILK was overexpressed in SW480 cells(P < 0.05). Proliferation, metastasis, and invasion ability were improved in the vector-ILK group compared to the vector group(P < 0.05). Immunofluorescence results revealed that E-cadherin fluorescence intensity decreased after ILK was overexpressed(P < 0.05). Western blot results revealed that the protein expression of E-cadherin was reduced, while vimentin, snail, and slug were upregulated when ILK was overexpressed in SW480 cells(P < 0.05). In order to determine the role of the NF-κB signaling pathway in ILK overexpression promoted EMT occurrence, we overexpressed ILK in SW480 cells and found that levels of NF-κB/p65 and cytoplasmic phosphorylated-IκBa were increased and that cytoplasmic IкBa levels were decreased compared to the control group(P < 0.05). Furthermore, NF-κB/p65 knockout revealed that E-cadherin was increased in the overexpressed ILK group. Besides the fever of research in solar cells, these materials show great promise on light emitting diodes(LEDs), photodetectors and lasers as well. Perovskite nanocrystals have been synthesized based on solution process and exhibited high luminescence quantum yield, sharp emission peak, and emission color tunability. 17Development and experiment of rice hill-drop drilling machine for dry land based on proportional speed regulation显示文摘Rice precision hill-drop drilling technique in dry land uses fixed hill spacing to achieve orderly planting of crops and to attain good ventilating and day-lighting effects in rice fields.The technique is also beneficial in improving root growth and root structure and in increasing lodging resistance.The high-yield record of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp’s first division for three consecutive years shows that rice precision hill-drop drilling technique in dry land is one of the important directions to developed rice cultivating mechanization technology.To further improve the quality of rice precision hill-drop drilling machine for dry land,a single profiling,electro-hydraulic proportional real-time adjustment of system was developed according to the agronomic requirements.This machine can simultaneously finish various kinds of seedbed leveling,furrowing and seeding operations,as well as soil covering and pressing.Electro-hydraulic proportional speed regulation makes an AMESim simulation test and analyzes the stability and error of hydraulic adjusting planting distance.Bench testing was carried out on the metering device by simultaneously employing high speed photography technology and analyzing the relationship of the high speed of hill distance and seed charge height.Finally,machine trial was completed.The two-year field experiments of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp showed that when the machine operation speed is 2.8-3.2 km/h,the sowing depth percent of pass is 75%or higher,the qualified rate of row spacing is 80%or more,the pass rate of row spacing is 90%or higher,and the quantity per hill is 75%or higher.This machine met the various indicators of hill sowing quality requirements.Fu Wei Zhang Zhiyuan Zang Ying Luo Xiwen Zeng Shan Wang Zaiman 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,4:5
18In-situ Synthesis of ZSM-5 with Different Si/AlRatios on Honeycomb-shaped Cordierite and their Behavior on NO Decomposition显示文摘Zeolites ZSM-5 with different Si/Al ratios were in-situ synthesized on the surface ofhoneycomb-shaped cordierite support for the first time. Characterizations of XRD and SEM wereperformed and it has been proved that the zeolite ZSM-5 was grown on the surface of the cordieritehomogeneously. NO decomposition on the Cu exchanged ZSM-5/cordierite monolith catalysts wasalso studied. It was found that the monolith catalysts have a fine initial activity at 673K and GHSVof 10,000h-1. 19Efficient lung cancer-targeted drug delivery via a nanoparticle/MSC system显示文摘Low targeting efficiency limits the applications of nanoparticles in cancer therapy. The fact that mesenchymal stem cells(MSC) trapped in the lung after systemic infusion is a disadvantage for cell therapy purposes. Here, we utilized MSC as lung cancer-targeted drug delivery vehicles by loading nanoparticles(NP)with anti-cancer drug. MSC showed a higher drug intake capacity than fibroblasts. In addition, MSC showed predominant lung trapping in both rabbit and monkey. IR-780 dye, a fluorescent probe used to represent docetaxel(DTX) in NP, delivered via MSC accumulated in the lung. Both in vitro MSC/A549 cell experiments and in vivo MSC/lung cancer experiments validated the intercellular transportation of NP between MSC and cancer cells. In vivo assays showed that the MSC/NP/DTX drug delivery system exerted primary tumor inhibition efficiency similar to that of a NP/DTX drug system. 20Combined amendment reduces soil Cd availability and rice Cd accumulation in three consecutive rice planting seasons显示文摘The scientific application of stabilized materials has been considered an effective method for the in situ remediation of Cd-contaminated soil.This study aimed to investigate the persistence of the effect of a combined amendment of limestone and sepiolite(LS)on soil Cd availability and accumulation in rice grown in a mildly Cd-contaminated paddy field(0.45 mg/kg of Cd)over three consecutive rice seasons.1125–4500 kg/ha of LS was applied to the soil before the first rice planting season and 562.5–2250 kg/ha of LS was supplemented before the third rice planting season.The application of LS(1125–4500 kg/ha)increased the soil p H by 0.44–1.09,0.18–0.53,and 0.42–0.68 in the first,second,and third season,respectively,and decreased the soil acid-extractable Cd content by 18.2–36.4%,17.7–33.5%,and9.6–17.6%.LS application significantly decreased the Cd contents in the rice tissues.The application of 4500 kg/ha of LS decreased the Cd content in brown rice to below the National Food Limit Standard of 0.2 mg/kg(GB 2762-2017)in the three consecutive rice seasons.However,the effect of LS on the soil-rice system was significantly weakened in the third season.The supplementary application of 562.5–2250 kg/ha of LS further decreased the Cd content in brown rice by 26.1–56.5%and decreased the health risk index by 23.7–43.8%.Therefore,it was recommended to apply 4500 kg/ha of LS in the first season and to supplement2250 kg/ha of LS in the third season to effectively guarantee the clean production of rice in three consecutive rice seasons.Wenjun Yang Shilong Wang Hang Zhou Min Zeng Jingyi Zhang Fang Huang Shiping Shan Zhaohui Guo Hongwei Yi Zhiguang Sun Jiaofeng Gu Bohan Liao 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,1:4
