6Surface modification of mesoporous silica nanoparticle with 4-triethoxysilylaniline to enhance seawater desalination properties of thin-film nanocomposite reverse osmosis membranes显示文摘Mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSN),with higher water permeability than NaA zeolite,were used to fabricate thin-film nanocomposite(TFN)reverse osmosis(RO)membranes.However,only aminoalkyl-modified MSN and low-pressure(less than 2.1 MPa)RO membrane were investigated.In this study,aminophenyl-modified MSN(AMSN)were synthesized and used to fabricate high-pressure(5.52 MPa)RO membranes.With the increasing of AMSN dosage,the crosslinking degree of the aromatic polyamide decreased,while the hydrophilicity of the membranes increased.The membrane morphology was maintained to show a ridge-and-valley structure,with only a slight increase in membrane surface roughness.At the optimum conditions(AMSN dosage of 0.25 g/L),when compared with the pure polyamide RO membrane,the water flux of the TFN RO membrane(55.67 L/m^2/h)was increased by about 21.6%,while NaCl rejection(98.97%)was slightly decreased by only 0.29%.However,the water flux of the membranes was much lower than expected.We considered that the enhancement of RO membrane permeability is attributed to the reduction of the effective thickness of the PA layer.Jian Wang Qun Wang Xueli Gao Xinxia Tian Yangyang Wei Zhen Cao Chungang Guo Huifeng Zhang Zhun Ma Yushan Zhang 2020Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,1:1

9Removal of Mercury(Hg(Ⅱ)) from Seaweed Extracts by Electrodialysis and Process Optimization Using Response Surface Methodology显示文摘In this work,response surface methodology(RSM)was employed to model and optimize electrodialysis process for mercury(Hg(II))removal from seaweed extracts.Box-Behnken design(BBD)was utilized to evaluate the effects and the interaction of influential variables such as operating voltage,influent flow rate,initial concentration of Hg(II)on the removal rate of Hg(II).The developed regression model for removal rate response was validated by analysis of variance,and presented a good agreement of the experimental data with the quadratic equation with high value coefficient of determination value(R2=0.9913,RAdj 2=0.9678).The optimum operating parameters were determined as 7.17V operating voltage,72.54L h−1 influent flow rate and 5.04mgL−1 initial concentration of mercury.Hg(II)removal rate of 76.45%was acquired under the optimum conditions,which showed good agreement with model-predicted(75.81%)result.The results revealed that electrodialysis can be considered as a promising strategy for removal of Hg(II)from seaweed extracts.SUN Jiuyi SU Xin LIU Zhen LIU Junlan MA Zhun SUN Yongchao GAO Xueli GAO Jun 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,1:0
10Enhanced separation of tetrafluoropropanol from water via carbon nanotubes membranes:insights from molecular dynamics simulations显示文摘Fluorinated alcohols exhibit promising prospects in chemical industry because of their special structure and many exciting properties,in which tetrafluoropropanol(TFP)is extensive applied in synthesis of pesticides,dyestuffs,variety of solvents and detergents.However,the presence of TFP in water garners increasing attention globally because of their intrinsic potential to threat ecosystems and human health.Carbon nanotubes(CNTs)membranes are burgeoning candidates for TFP-water separation owing to well-endowed extraordinary structural and transport properties.However,a grand challenge lies in the rational design of CNTs for improving separation performance.Herein,molecular dynamics(MD)simulations were performed to investigate the effects of various parameters on the separation of TFP-water mixtures including feed temperature,CNTs pore diameters,and fluorine functionalization position.It was found that TFP was pre-selected in CNTs ranging from 9.48 to 18.98Ådue to preferential adsorption and diffusion mechanism.Excellent separation factor of 16 was achieved by(7,7)CNTs and the mass fraction of TFP was purified from 75%to 97.51%.Fluorine modified CNTs separated TFP and water by preferentially permeating water due to hydrogen bonding interaction.Simulation results showed that CNTs modified at both the entrance and interior had better separation performance than CNT modified only at one of these positions.The 100wt%water content in permeate was achieved by(11,11)CNTs modified with fluorine at the entrance and interior.These findings provide valuable insights for designing potential candidates for fluorinated alcohol-water azeotropic mixtures membrane separation,and promise extensive application aspects for the reclamation of fluorinated alcohol.Qing Li Xiaomeng Wang Ying Liu Zhun Ma Qun Wang Dongmei Xu Jun Gao Ruirui Wu Hui Sun Xueli Gao 2023Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,11:0
11Fluoride removal from secondary effluent of the graphite industry using electrodialysis:Optimization with response surface methodology显示文摘Response surface methodology was utilized to model and optimize the operational variables for defluoridation using an electrodialysis process as the treatment of secondary effluent of the graphite industry. Experiments were conducted using a Box-Behnken surface statistical design in order to evaluate the effects and the interaction of the influential variables including the operational voltage, initial fluoride concentration and flow rate. The regression models for defluoridation and energy consumption responses were statistically validated using analysis of variance (ANOVA);high coefficient of determination values (R^2 = 0.9772 and R^2 = 0.9814;respectively) were obtained. The quadratic model exhibited high reproducibility and a good fit of the experimental data. The optimum values of the initial fluoride concentration, voltage and flow rate were found to be 13.9 mg/L, 13.4 V, 102.5 L/h, respectively. 12SUNDER:Self-organized grouping and entrapping method for swarms in multitarget environments显示文摘For swarm robots moving in a harsh or uncharted outdoor environment without GPS guidance and global communication,algorithms that rely on global-based information are infeasible.Typically,traditional gene regulatory networks(GRNs)that achieve superior performance in forming trapping pattern towards targets require accurate global positional information to guide swarm robots.This article presents a gene regulatory network with Self-organized grouping and entrapping method for swarms(SUNDER-GRN)to achieve adequate trapping performance with a large-scale swarm in a confined multitarget environment with access to only local information.A hierarchical self-organized grouping method(HSG)is proposed to structure subswarms in a distributed way.In addition,a modified distributed controller,with a relative coordinate system that is established to relieve the need for global information,is leveraged to facilitate subswarms entrapment toward different targets,thus improving the global multi-target entrapping performance.The results demonstrate the superiority of SUNDERGRN in the performance of structuring subswarms and entrapping 10 targets with 200 robots in an environment confined by obstacles and with only local information accessible.Yutong Yuan Zhun Fan Xiaomin Zhu Li Ma Ji Ouyang Weidong Bao Ji Wang Zhaojun Wang 2023Defence Technology(防务技术)2023,26,8:0
13Preparation of reverse osmosis membrane with high permselectivity and anti-biofouling properties for desalination显示文摘High performance is essential for the polyamide(PA)reverse osmosis(RO)membranes during the desalination process.Herein,RO membranes with high permselectivity and anti-biofouling properties were fabricated by nanoparticles incorporation and anti-biofouling grafting.Hydrotalcite(HT)incorporation was performed with a dual role,enhancing water flux and acting as grafting sites.The HT incorporation increased the water flux without sacrificing the salt rejection,compensating for the loss caused by the following grafting reaction.The exposed surface of HT acted as grafting sites for anti-biofouling agent dimethyloctadecyl[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ammonium chloride(DMOTPAC).The combination of HT incorporation and DMOTPAC grafting endowed RO membranes with high permselectivity and anti-biofouling properties.The water flux of the modified membrane PA-HT-0.06 was 49.8 L/m^(2)·h,which was 16.4%higher than that of the pristine membrane.The salt rejection of PA-HT-0.06 was 99.1%,which was comparable to that of the pristine membrane.As to the fouling of negatively charged lysozyme,the modified membrane’s water flux recovery was superior to that of the pristine membrane(e.g.86.8%of PA-HT-0.06 compared to 78.2%of PA-pristine).The sterilization rates of PA-HT-0.06 for E.coli and B.subtilis were 97.3%and 98.7%,much higher than those of the pristine membrane(24.0%for E.coli and 26.7%for B.subtilis).Xinxia Tian Hui Yu Jun Yang Xiaotai Zhang Man Zhao Yang Yang Wei Sun Yangyang Wei Yin Zhang Jian Wang Zhun Ma 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,7:0
