| 1 | Unexpected guests in the tumor microenvironment:microbiome in cancer显示文摘Although intestinal microbiome have been established as an important biomarker and regulator of cancer development and therapeutic response, less is known about the role of microbiome at other body sites in cancer. Emerging evidence has revealed that the local microbiota make up an important part of the tumor microenvironment across many types of cancer, especially in cancers arising from mucosal sites, including the lung, skin and gastrointestinal tract. The populations of bacteria that reside specifically within tumors have been found to be tumor-type specific, and mechanistic studies have demonstrated that tumor-associated microbiota may directly regulate cancer initiation, progression and responses to chemo- or immuno-therapies. | 2 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 3 | Formation of active oxygen species on single-atom Pt catalyst and promoted catalytic oxidation of toluene显示文摘Catalytic oxidation of toluene over noble metal catalysts is a representative reaction for elimination of volatile organic compounds(VOCs).However,to fully understand the activation of molecular oxygen and the role of active oxygen species generated in this reaction is still a challenging target.Herein,MgO nanosheets and single-atom Pt loaded MgO(Pt SA/MgO)nanosheets were synthesized and used as catalysts in toluene oxidation.The activation process of molecular oxygen and oxidation performance on the two catalysts were contrastively investigated.The Pt SA/MgO exhibited significantly enhanced catalytic activity compared to MgO.The oxygen vacancies can be easily generated on the Pt SA/MgO surface,which facilitate the activation of molecular oxygen and the formation of active oxygen species.Based on the experimental data and theoretical calculations,an active oxygen species promoted oxidation mechanism for toluene was proposed.In the presence of H2O,the molecular oxygen is more favorable to be dissociated to generate•OH on the oxygen vacancies of the Pt SA/MgO surface,which is the dominant active oxygen species.We anticipate that this work may shed light on further investigation of t10.1007/s12274-020-2765-1he oxidation mechanism of toluene and other VOCs over noble metal catalysts. | Shunzheng Zhao Yanfeng Wen Xijun Liu Xianyun Pen Fang Lü Fengyu Gao Xizhou Xie Chengcheng Du Honghong Yi Dongjuan Kang Xiaolong Tang | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,6: | 12 |

| 5 | Peripheral CD4^(+) T cell signatures in predicting the responses to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 monotherapy for Chinese advanced non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Limited benefit population of immune checkpoint inhibitors makes it urgent to screen predictive biomarkers for stratifying the patients.Herein,we have investigated peripheral CD4^(+) T cell signatures in advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients receiving anti-PD-1/PD-L1 treatments.It was found that the percentages of IFN-γand IL-17A secreting naïve CD4^(+) T cells(Tn),and memory CD4^(+) T cells(Tm)expressing PD-1,PD-L1 and CTLA-4 were significantly higher in responder(R)than non-responder(NonR)NSCLC patients associated with a longer progression free survival(PFS).Logistic regression analysis revealed that the baseline IFN-γ-producing CD4^(+) Tn cells and PD-1^(+)CD4^(+) Tm cells were the most significant signatures with the area under curve(AUC)value reaching 0.849.This was further validated in another anti-PD-1 monotherapy cohort.Conversely,high percentage of CTLA-4^(+)CD4^(+) Tm cells was associated with a shorter PFS in patients receiving anti-PD-L1 monotherapy.Our study therefore elucidates the significance of functional CD4^(+) Tn and Tm subpopulations before the treatment in predicting the responses to anti-PD-1 treatment in Chinese NSCLC patients.The fact that there display distinct CD4^(+) T cell signatures in the prediction to anti-PD-1 and anti-PD-L1 monotherapy from our study provides preliminary evidence on the feasibility of anti-PD-1 and anti-PD-L1 combination therapy for advanced NSCLC patients. | Liliang Xia Hui Wang Mingjiao Sun Yi Yang Chengcheng Yao Sheng He Huangqi Duan Weimin Xia Ruiming Sun Yaxian Yao Zhiwei Chen Qiong Zhao Hong Li Shun Lu Ying Wang | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,10: | 7 |
| 6 | Paleogene Tectonic Evolution Controls on Sequence Stratigraphic Patterns in the Fushan Sag, Northern South China Sea显示文摘Tectonism is of extreme importance to sequence stratigraphic patterns in continental sedimentary basins, affecting both the architectures and internal makeup of sequences. Sequence stratigraphic framework of the Paleogene system in the Fushan sag, northern South China Sea, was built using 3D and 2D seismic data, complemented by drilling cores and well logs data. One first-order, three second-order and seven third-order sequences were identified. Analysis of paleotectonic stress field, unconformities and subsidence history showed that the Paleogene tectonic evolution presented significant characteristics of multistage and episode, and can be divided into three stages: rifting stage I(initial rifting period), rifting stage II(rapid subsidence period), rifting stage III(fault-depressed diversionary period). Partition of the west and east in tectonic activity was obvious. The west area showed relatively stronger tectonic activity than the east area, especially during the rifting stage II. Episodic rifting and lateral variations in tectonic activity resulted in a wide variety of structural slope break belts, which controlled both the sequence architectures and interval makeup, and strongly constrained the development of special facies zones or sand bodies that tended to form hydrocarbon accumulation. | 7 | Metformin inhibits pancreatic cancer metastasis caused by SMAD4 deficiency and consequent HNF4G upregulation显示文摘Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)has poor prognosis due to limited therapeutic options.This study examines the roles of genome-wide association study identified PDAC-associated genes as therapeutic targets.We have identified HNF4G gene whose silencing most effectively repressed PDAC cell invasiveness.HNF4G overexpression is induced by the deficiency of transcriptional factor and tumor suppressor SMAD4.Increased HNF4G are correlated with SMAD4 deficiency in PDAC tumor samples and associated with metastasis and poor survival time in xenograft animal model and in patients with PDAC(log-rank P=0.036;HR=1.60,95%CI=1.03–2.47).We have found that Metformin suppresses HNF4G activity via AMPK-mediated phosphorylation-coupled ubiquitination degradation and inhibits in vitro invasion and in vivo metastasis of PDAC cells with SMAD4 deficiency.Furthermore,Metformin treatment significantly improve clinical outcomes and survival in patients with SMAD4-deficient PDAC(log-rank P=0.022;HR=0.31,95%CI=0.14–0.68)but not in patients with SMAD4-normal PDAC.Pathway analysis shows that HNF4G may act in PDAC through the cell-cell junction pathway.These results indicate that SMAD4 deficiency-induced overexpression of HNF4G plays a critical oncogenic role in PDAC progression and metastasis but may form a druggable target for Metformin treatment. | Chengcheng Wang Taiping Zhang Quan Liao Menghua Dai Junchao Guo Xinyu Yang Wen Tan Dongxin Lin Chen Wu Yupei Zhao | 2021 | Protein & Cell2021,12,2: | 5 |

| 9 | Genome-wide transcriptome analysis reveals molecular pathways involved in leafy head formation of Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa)显示文摘Chinese cabbage plants go through seedling and rosette stages before forming their leafy head.Chinese cabbage plants resemble pak-choi plants at their seedling stage,but in their rosette stage the leaves of Chinese cabbage differentiate,as they increase in size with shorter petioles.In order to understand the molecular pathways that play a role in leafy head formation,transcript abundance of young emerging leaves was profiled during development of two Chinese cabbage genotypes and a single pak-choi genotype.The two Chinese cabbages differed in many aspects,among others earliness,leaf size and shape,leaf numbers,and leafy head shape.Genome-wide transcriptome analysis clearly separated the seedling stages of all three genotypes together with the later stages from pak-choi,from the later developmental stages of both Chinese cabbages(rosette,folding,and heading).Weighted correlation network analysis and hierarchical clustering using Euclidean distances resulted in gene clusters with transcript abundance patterns distinguishing the two Chinese cabbages from pak-choi.Three clusters included genes with transcript abundance affected by both genotype and developmental stage,whereas two clusters showed only genotype effects.This included a genotype by developmental stage cluster highly enriched with the MapMan category photosynthesis,with high expression during rosette and folding in Chinese cabbages and low expression in the heading inner leaves that are not exposed to light.The other clusters contained many genes in the MapMan categories Cell,showing again differences between pak-choi and both Chinese cabbages.We discuss how this relates to the differences in leaf blade growth between Chinese cabbage and pak-choi,especially at the rosette stage.Overall,comparison of the transcriptome between leaves of two very different Chinese cabbages with pak-choi during plant development allowed the identification of specific gene categories associated with leafy head formation. | XiaoXue Sun Ram Kumar Basnet Zhichun Yan Johan Bucher Chengcheng Cai Jianjun Zhao Guusje Bonnema | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 4 |

| 13 | Intestinal dysbiosis exacerbates the pathogenesis of psoriasis-like phenotype through changes in fatty acid metabolism显示文摘The intestinal microbiota has been associated with host immunity as well as psoriasis;however,the mechanism of intestinal microbiota regulating psoriasis needs to be demonstrated systematically.Here,we sought to examine its role and mechanism of action in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.We found that the severity of psoriasis-like skin phenotype was accompanied by changes in the composition of the intestinal microbiota.We performed co-housing and fecal microbial transplantation(FMT)experiments using the K14-VEGF transgenic mouse model of psoriasis and demonstrated that the transfer of intestinal microbiota from mice with severe psoriasis-like skin phenotype exacerbated psoriasiform skin inflammation in mice with mild symptoms,including increasing the infiltration and differentiation of Th17,and increased the abundance of Prevotella,while decreasing that of Parabacteroides distasonis,in the colon.These alterations affected fatty acid metabolism,increasing the abundance of oleic and stearic acids.Meanwhile,gentamicin treatment significantly reduced the abundance of Prevotella and alleviated the psoriasis-like symptoms in both K14-VEGF mice and imiquimod(IMQ)-induced psoriasis-like mice.Indeed,administration of oleic and stearic acids exacerbated psoriasis-like symptoms and increased Th17 and monocyte-derived dendritic cell infiltration in the skin lesion areas in vivo,as well as increased the secretion of IL-23 by stimulating DCs in vitro.At last,we found that,treatment of PDE-4 inhibitor alleviated psoriasis-like phenotype of K14-VEGF mice accompanied by the recovery of intestinal microbiota,including the decrease of Prevotella and increase of Parabacteroides distasonis.Overall,our findings reveal that the intestinal microbiota modulates host metabolism and psoriasis-like skin inflammation in mice,suggesting a new target for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis. | Qixiang Zhao Jiadong Yu Hong Zhou Xiaoyan Wang Chen Zhang Jing Hu Yawen Hu Huaping Zheng Fanlian Zeng Chengcheng Yue Linna Gu Zhen Wang Fulei Zhao Pei Zhou Haozhou Zhang Nongyu Huang Wenling Wu Yifan Zhou Jiong Li | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,2: | 2 |
| 14 | Study on mechanism of low-temperature oxidation of n-hexanal catalysed by 2D ultrathin Co_(3)O_(4) nanosheets显示文摘Achieving high catalytic performance with lower possible cost and higher energetic efficiency is critical for catalytic oxidation of volatile organic compounds(VOCs).However,traditional thermocatalysts generally undergo low catalytic activity and fewer active sites.Herein,this paper synthesizes nearly all-surface-atomic,ultrathin two-dimensional(2D)Co_(3)O_(4) nanosheets to address these problems through offering a numerous active sites and high electron mobility.The 2D Co_(3)O_(4) nanosheets(1.70 nm)exhibit catalyzation to the total oxidation of n-hexanal at the lower temperature of r90%=202℃,and at the space velocity of 5.0×10^(4) h^(-1).It is over 1.2 and 6 times higher catalytic activity than that of 2D CoO nanosheets(1.71 nm)and bulk Co_(3)O_(4) counterpart,respectively.Transient absorption spectroscopy analysis shows that the oxygen vacancy defect traps electrons,thereby preventing the recombination with holes,increasing the lifetime of electrons,and making electron-holes reach a nondynamic equilibrium.The longer the electron lifetime is,the easier the oxygen vacancy defects capture electrons.Furthermore,the defects combine with oxygen to form active oxygen components.Compared with the lattice oxygen involved in the reaction of bulk Co_(3)O_(4),the nanosheets change the catalytic reaction path,which effectively reduces the activation energy barrier from 34.07 to 27.15 kJ/mol.The changed surface disorder,the numerous coordinatively-unsaturated Co atoms and the high ratio of O_(ads)/O_(lat) on the surface of 2D Co_(3)O_(4) nanosheets are responsible for the catalytic performance. | Leilei Miao Xiaolong Tang Shunzheng Zhao Xizhou Xie Chengcheng Du Tian Tang Honghong Yi | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,2: | 2 |
| 15 | Reconstruction of Surface Porous PEEK Decorated with Strontium-doped Calcium Phosphate Coatings for Enhancing Osteogenic Activity显示文摘The aim of this study was to reconstruct surface porous structure with hundreds of micrometers and then bio-mineralize Sr-doped Calcium Phosphate(Sr-doped CaP)on Polyetheretherketone(PEEK)profile to enhance its bioactivity.A surface porous structure was prepared on PEEK profile by embedding and acid-etching of SiO2 particles as porogen(SP-PEEK).Then the Sr-doped CaP was further decorated on the porous surface after sulfonation,introduction of Sr-doped CaP crystal seeds and bio-mineralization in 1.5 times simulated body fluid(BSSP-PEEK-CaP/Sr).It was feasible to reconstruct the surface porous structure with hundreds of micrometers on PEEK profile by the present method without damaging its mechanical properties.The Sr-doped CaP crystal seeds effectively promoted the bio-mineralization of bio-inertness PEEK.All as-prepared PEEK did not inhibit the proliferation of cells.ALP of bio-mineralized groups was significantly increased than that of the other groups.The BSSP-PEEK-CaP/Sr obviously affected the morphology and promoted the adhesion and spreading of cells.As a result,the cyto-biocompatibity and bioactivity of PEEK were improved after bio-mineralization.Sr-doped CaP on PEEK most likely was beneficial for cells,which was associated with the increasing of the hydrophilicity on PEEK.This study provided a candidate method to improve the osteogenesis of PEEK implants. | Chengcheng Liang Xiong Xiong Rongwei Cui Yuanxiao Hong Xin Liu Guoru Zhao Lizi Ye Shuxin Qu | 2021 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,4: | 2 |
