Anti-inflammatory activity of curcumin-loaded tetrahedral framework nucleic acids on acute gouty arthritis显示文摘Gouty arthritis is a very familiar inflammatory arthritis.Controlling inflammation is the key to preventing gouty arthritis. However, colchicine, the most highly represented drug used in clinical practice, has strict contraindications owing to some severe side effects.Curcumin(Cur),a natural anti-inflammatory drug, has demonstrated good safety and efficacy. However, the rapid degradation, poor aqueous solubility, and low bioavailability of Cur limit its therapeutic effect. To strengthen the effectiveness and bioavailability of Cur.Cur loaded tetrahedral framework nucleic acids(Cur-TFNAs)were synthesized to deliver Cur.Compared with free Cur,Cur-TFNAs exhibit a preferable drug stability, good biocompatibility(CCK-8 assay),ease of uptake(immunofluorescence),and higher tissue utilization(in vivo biodistribution). Most importantly,Cur-TFNAs present better anti-inflammatory effect than free Cur both in vivo and in vitro experiments through the determination of inflammation-related cytokines expression. Therefore,we believe that Cur-TFNAs have great prospects for the prevention of gout and similar inflammatory diseases. | Mei Zhang Xiaolin Zhang Taoran Tian Qi Zhang Yuting Wen Junyao Zhu Dexuan Xiao Weitong Cui Yunfeng Lin | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,2: | 10
Synergistic effect of MXene on the flame retardancy and thermal degradation of intumescent flame retardant biodegradable poly(lactic acid)composites显示文摘The effect of Ti3C2 MXene nanosheets on the intumescent flame retardant(IFR)poly(lactic acid)(PLA)composites was investigated among a series of PLA/IFR/MXene,which were prepared by melt blending 0-2.0 wt%MXene,10.0 wt%-12.0 wt%IFR and PLA together. The results of limiting oxygen index(LOI)and vertical burning(UL-94)discover that the combination of 0.5 wt%MXene and 11.5 wt%IFR synergistically improves the fire safety of PLA to reach UL-94 V-0 rating with LOI value of 33.0%.The PLA/IFR/MXene composites perform an obvious reduction in peak of heat release rate(HRR)in cone calorimeter tests(CCTs).Furthermore, the carbon residues after CCTs were characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM),laser Raman spectroscopy(LRS),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).It is demonstrated that both the titanium composition of the MXene structure and the characteristics of the two-dimensional material enhance the PLA/IFR/MXene composite materials’ability to produce a dense barrier layer to resist burnout during thermal degradation. | Haowei Huang Dexuan Dong Weijie Li Xinya Zhang Li Zhang Ying Chen Xinxin Sheng Xiang Lu | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,7: | 7
Comparison of nonhuman primates identified the suitable model for COVID-19显示文摘Identification of a suitable nonhuman primate(NHP)model of COVID-19 remains challenging. Here,we characterized severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection in three NHP species:Old World monkeys Macaca mulatta(M.mulatta)and Macaca fascicularis(M.fascicularis)and New World monkey Callithrix jacchus(C.jacchus).Infected M.mulatta and M.fascicularis showed abnormal chest radiographs,an increased body temperature and a decreased body weight.Viral genomes were detected in swab and blood samples from all animals.Viral load was detected in the pulmonary tissues of M.mulatta and M.fascicularis but not C.jacchus.Furthermore,among the three animal species,M.mulatta showed the strongest response to SARS-CoV-2,including increased inflammatory cytokine expression and pathological changes in the pulmonary tissues.Collectively, these data revealed the different susceptibilities of Old World and New World monkeys to SARS-CoV-2 and identified M.mulatta as the most suitable for modeling COVID-19. | Shuaiyao Lu Yuan Zhao Wenhai Yu Yun Yang Jiahong Gao Junbin Wang Dexuan Kuang Mengli Yang Jing Yang Chunxia Ma Jingwen Xu Xingli Qian Haiyan Li Siwen Zhao Jingmei Li Haixuan Wang Haiting Long Jingxian Zhou Fangyu Luo Kaiyun Ding Daoju Wu Yong Zhang Yinliang Dong Yuqin Liu Yinqiu Zheng Xiaochen Lin Li Jiao Huanying Zheng Qing Dai Qiangming Sun Yunzhang Hu Changwen Ke Hongqi Liu Xiaozhong Peng | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 5
Highly conductive wear resistant Cu/Ti3SiC2(TiC/SiC) co-continuous composites via vacuum infiltration process显示文摘The MAX phase Ti3SiC2 has broad application prospects in the field of rail transit, nuclear protective materials and electrode materials due to its excellent electrical conductivity, selflubricating properties and wear resistance.Cu–Ti3SiC2 co-continuous composites have superior performance due to the continuous distribution of 3 D network structures. In this paper, the Cu/Ti3SiC2(Ti C/Si C)co-continuous composites are formed via vacuum infiltration process from Cu and Ti3SiC2 porous ceramics. The co-continuous composites have significantly improved the flexural strength and conductivity of Ti3SiC2 due to the addition of Cu,with the conductivity up to 5.73×10^5 S/m,twice as high as the Ti3SiC2 porous ceramics and five times higher than graphite. The reaction between ingredients leads to an increase in the friction coefficient, while the hard reaction products(Ti Cx,Si C)lower the overall wear rate(1×10^–3 mm^3/(N·m)).Excellent electrical conductivity and wear resistance make co-continuous composites more advantageous in areas such as rail transit. | Dexuan YANG Yu ZHOU Xingheng YAN Honglei WANG Xingui ZHOU | 2020 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,1: | 4
Tetrahedral Framework Nucleic Acid-Based Delivery of Resveratrol Alleviates Insulin Resistance:From Innate to Adaptive Immunity显示文摘Obesity-induced insulin resistance is the hallmark of metabolic syndrome, and chronic,low-grade tissue inflammation links obesity to insulin resistance through the activation of tissue-infiltrating immune cells.Current therapeutic approaches lack efficacy and immunomodulatory capacity. Thus,a new therapeutic approach is needed to prevent chronic inflammation and alleviate insulin resistance. Here,we synthesized a tetrahedral framework nucleic acid(tFNA)nanoparticle that carried resveratrol(RSV)to inhibit tissue inflammation and improve insulin sensitivity in obese mice. The prepared nanoparticles, namely tFNAs-RSV,possessed the characteristics of simple synthesis, stable properties, good water solubility, and superior biocompatibility. The tFNA-based delivery ameliorated the lability of RSV and enhanced its therapeutic efficacy. In high-fat diet(HFD)-fed mice, the administration of tFNAs-RSV ameliorated insulin resistance by alleviating inflammation status.tFNAs-RSV could reverse M1 phenotype macrophages in tissues to M2 phenotype macrophages. As for adaptive immunity, the prepared nanoparticles could repress the activation of Th1 and Th17 and promote Th2 and Treg, leading to the alleviation of insulin resistance.Furthermore, this study is the first to demonstrate that tFNAs,a nucleic acid material, possess immunomodulatory capacity.Collectively, our findings demonstrate that tFNAs-RSV alleviate insulin resistance and ameliorate inflammation in HFD mice, suggesting that nucleic acid materials or nucleic acid-based delivery systems may be a potential agent for the treatment of insulin resistance and obesity-related metabolic diseases. | Yanjing Li Shaojingya Gao Sirong Shi Dexuan Xiao Shuanglin Peng Yang Gao Ying Zhu Yunfeng Lin | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,6: | 4

Synthesis of Ag-SiO_2 composite nanospheres and their catalytic activity显示文摘A simple, mild, and time-saving method is employed to synthesize Ag-SiO2 composite nanospheres with Ag nanoparticles uniformly distributed on the surface of SiO2 nanoparticles. The chemical elements and the morphology of Ag-SiO2 composite nanospheres were analyzed with transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray power diffraction(XRD),and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).On the surface of Ag-SiO2 composite nanospheres, silane coupling agent(KH-550)is introduced as an intermediary to connect the surfaces of SiO2 nanospheres and Ag nanoparticles, which is also helpful for avoiding the aggregation of Ag nanoparticles. It is found that Ag-SiO2 composite nanospheres have very good catalytic properties for the reduction of organic dyes, which may have potential application in wastewater treatment. | HAN QingYan LI GuiAn WANG DeXuan HE EnJie DONG Jun GAO Wei LI JunNa LIU TingZhuo ZHANG ZhongYue ZHENG HaiRong | 2014 | Science China Chemistry2014,57,6: | 2
A spatiotemporal data collection of viral cases for COVID-19 rapid response显示文摘Under the global health crisis of COVID-19,timely,and accurate epi-demic data are important for observation, monitoring, analyzing, modeling, predicting, and mitigating impacts.Viral case data can be jointly analyzed with relevant factors for various applications in the context of the pandemic.Current COVID-19 case data are scattered across a variety of data sources which may consist of low data quality accompanied by inconsistent data structures. To address this short-coming,a multi-scale spatiotemporal data product is proposed as a public repository platform, based on a spatiotemporal cube, and allows the integration of different data sources by adopting various data standards.Within the spatiotemporal cube,a comprehensive data processing workflow gathers disparate COVID-19 epidemic data-sets at the global,national,provincial/state,county,and city levels. This proposed framework is supported by an automatic update with a 2-h frequency and the crowdsourcing validation team to produce and update data on a daily time step. This rapid-response dataset allows the integration of other relevant socio-economic and environ-mental factors for spatiotemporal analysis. The data is available in Harvard Dataverse platform(http://gffzz9c54d31c51204187sfqvbw9u5xo556kpk.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/dataset.xhtml?persistentId=doi:10.7910/DVN/8HGECN)and GitHub open source repository(http://gffzz188fe103f8f1460asfqvbw9u5xo556kpk.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/stccenter/COVID-19-Data). | Dexuan Sha Yi Liu Qian Liu Yun Li Yifei Tian Fayez Beaini Cheng Zhong Tao Hu Zifu Wang Hai Lan You Zhou Zhiran Zhang Chaowei Yang | 2021 | Big Earth Data2021,5,1: | 2
Histones released by NETosis enhance the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2 by bridging the spike protein subunit 2 and sialic acid on host cells显示文摘Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)can capture and kill viruses, such as influenza viruses, human immunodeficiency virus(HIV),and respiratory syncytial virus(RSV),thus contributing to host defense.Contrary to our expectation,we show here that the histones released by NETosis enhance the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2,as found by using live SARS-CoV-2 and two pseudovirus systems as well as a mouse model. The histone H3 or H4 selectively binds to subunit 2 of the spike(S)protein,as shown by a biochemical binding assay, surface plasmon resonance and binding energy calculation as well as the construction of a mutant S protein by replacing four acidic amino acids.Sialic acid on the host cell surface is the key molecule to which histones bridge subunit 2 of the S protein. Moreover, histones enhance cell-cell fusion. Finally, treatment with an inhibitor of NETosis, histone H3 or H4,or sialic acid notably affected the levels of sgRNA copies and the number of apoptotic cells in a mouse model. These findings suggest that SARS-CoV-2 could hijack histones from neutrophil NETosis to promote its host cell attachment and entry process and may be important in exploring pathogenesis and possible strategies to develop new effective therapies for COVID-19. | Weiqi Hong Jingyun Yang Jun Zou Zhenfei Bi Cai He Hong Lei Xuemei He Xue Li Aqu Alu Wenyan Ren Zeng Wang Xiaohua Jiang Kunhong Zhong Guowen Jia Yun Yang Wenhai Yu Qing Huang Mengli Yang Yanan Zhou Yuan Zhao Dexuan Kuang Junbin Wang Haixuan Wang Siyuan Chen Min Luo Ziqi Zhang Tiangi Lu Li Chen Haiying Que Zhiyao He Qiu Sun Wei Wang Guobo Shen Guangwen Lu Zhiwei Zhao Li Yang Jinliang Yang Zhenling Wang Jiong Li Xiangrong Song Lunzhi Dai Chong Chen Jia Geng Maling Gou Lu Chen Haohao Dong Yong Peng Canhua Huang Zhiyong Qian Wei Cheng Changfa Fan Yuquan Wei Zhaoming Su Aiping Tong Shuaiyao Lu Xiaozhong Peng Xiawei Wei | 2022 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2022,19,5: | 2
