| 2 | Hydrochemical Dynamic Characteristics and Evolution of Underground Brine in the Mahai Salt Lake of the Qaidam Basin Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘The mineral rock salts present in the Mahai Salt Lake of the Qaidam basin exhibit high solubilities in water. In addition, the multicomponent underground brine exhibits a high salinity and is easily precipitated. In the natural state, brine transport in the brine layer is extremely slow, and the brine is in a relatively stable chemical equilibrium state with the rock salt media. However, during mining, both the seepage and the chemical fields fluctuate significantly, thereby disrupting the equilibrium and leading to variations in the chemical composition and dynamic characteristics of the brine. Therefore, we selected underground brine from the Mahai Salt Lake, collecting a total of 183 brine samples over three stages of mining(i.e., the early stage of underground brine extraction, the initial stage of mining, and the later stage of mining). Using a range of analytical techniques, the chemical dynamics of the underground brine water and its evolution were systematically studied. | 3 | Porosity Distribution Characteristics and Geological Analysis of Brine Storage Medium in the Qaidam Basin, Western China显示文摘Underground brine is an unusual water resource that contains abundant mineral resources. It is distributed widely in the Qaidam Basin, western China, a hyperarid inland basin located in the northern Tibetan Plateau. Pores in the brine storage medium act as storage space and transmission channels of underground brine. Therefore, the porosity of brine storage medium determines its ability to store brine. In this study, Mahai Salt Lake was used as the research area as a modern saline lake located in the north area of the Qaidam Basin. A total of 100 porosity samples were collected from eight sampling points in two profiles of the research area at sampling depths of 1.30–314.78 m. The porosity distribution characteristics and influencing factors in brine storage medium were analysed according to the measured porosity data. Based on analysis of the pore structure characteristics, the brine storage medium contains intercrystalline pores, unlike conventional freshwater storage mediums. Moreover, the primary salt rock is susceptible to dissolution by lighter brine, facilitating the formation of secondary porosity. Due to the formation of secondary pores, a porosity greater than 20% remains even at buried depths greater than 100 m. Based on the geological statistical analysis, due to the geographic location, salt formation time, and depositional environment, the porosity values of Mahai Salt Lake do not exhibit a wider distribution, but also show more extreme values than a nearby salt lake. | 4 | Effects of spring fire and slope on the aboveground biomass, and organic C and N dynamics in a semi-arid grassland of northern China显示文摘The aboveground primary production is a major source of carbon(C) and nitrogen(N) pool and plays an important role in regulating the response of ecosystem and nutrient cycling to natural and anthropogenic disturbances. To explore the mechanisms underlying the effect of spring fire and topography on the aboveground biomass(AGB) and the soil C and N pool, we conducted a field experiment between April 2014 and August 2016 in a semi-arid grassland of northern China to examine the effects of slope and spring fire, and their potential interactions on the AGB and organic C and total N contents in different plant functional groups(C_3 grasses, C_4 grasses, forbs, Artemisia frigida plants, total grasses and total plants).The dynamics of AGB and the contents of organic C and N in the plants were examined in the burned and unburned plots on different slope positions(upper and lower). There were differences in the total AGB of all plants between the two slope positions. The AGB of grasses was higher on the lower slope than on the upper slope in July. On the lower slope, spring fire marginally or significantly increased the AGB of C_3 grasses, forbs, total grasses and total plants in June and August, but decreased the AGB of C_4 grasses and A.frigida plants from June to August. On the upper slope, however, spring fire significantly increased the AGB of forbs in June, the AGB of C_3 grasses and total grasses in July, and the AGB of forbs and C_4 grasses in August. Spring fire exhibited no significant effect on the total AGB of all plants on the lower and upper slopes in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, the total AGB in the burned plots showed a decreasing trend after fire burning compared with the unburned plots. The different plant functional groups had different responses to slope positions in terms of organic C and N contents in the plants. The lower and upper slopes differed with respect to the organic C and N contents of C_3 grasses, C_4 grasses, total grasses, forbs, A. frigida plants and total plants in different growing months. Slope position and spring fire significantly interacted to affect the AGB and organic C and N contents of C_4 grasses and A. frigida plants. We observed the AGB and organic C and N contents in the plants in a temporal synchronized pattern. Spring fire affected the functional AGB on different slope positions, likely by altering the organic C and N contents and, therefore,it is an important process for C and N cycling in the semi-arid natural grasslands. | 5 | 不同形态氮化合物添加对中国北方盐渍化草地土壤呼吸的影响显示文摘持续增加的氮沉降在提高陆地生态系统生产力的同时也会对土壤微生物产生显著影响:土壤呼吸由植物根系呼吸和土壤微生物呼吸组成,因此影响植物生产力和微生物的因子都会影响到土壤呼吸。以往氮富集对土壤呼吸的研究主要在土壤中性的草地生态系统开展,而对于盐渍化草地土壤呼吸是如何响应氮沉降的研究尚不多见,这限制了全球变化陆地生态系统土壤呼吸模型预测的准确性和完整性。本研究以中国北方农牧交错带盐渍化草地为研究对象,通过3年(2017-2019年)野外监测土壤呼吸及相关生物和非生物因子的变化,探讨了不同形态氮化合物添加(NH_(4)NO_(30、(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)和NH_(4)HCO_(3))对盐渍化草地土壤呼吸的影响及其调控机制。结果表明:(ⅰ)土壤呼吸受大气温度、土壤温度及降水的调控,呈现双峰的季节动态变化趋势和显著的年际差异。(ⅱ)与对照相比,经过3年的处理,土壤呼吸在NH_(4)NO_(3)、(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)和NH_(4)HCO_(3)添加处理下分别提高了19.9%、13.0%和16.6%。(ⅲ)NH_(4)NO_(3)添加对土壤呼吸较高的促进作用与较高的地上生物量、地下生物量以及土壤NO-含量有关。(ⅳ)在NH_(4)HCO_(3)添加处理下,土壤碳排放(土壤呼吸)显著增加而碳输入(净生产力)无显著改变,表明NHHCO,添加会降低土壤碳的固持。(ⅴ)净地下生产力(BNPP)是盐渍化草地土壤呼吸的最主要调控因子,并且土壤阳离子浓度和pH值通过影响土壤微生物间接影响土壤呼吸。上述研究结果表明,草地添加NHNO,的研究高估了氮沉降对土壤呼吸的影响,并且在碳循环预测模型中应充分考虑盐渍化草地土壤碳动态。 | Huajie Diao Xiaopeng Chen Ge Wang Qiushi Ning Shuya Hu Wei Sun Kuanhu Dong Changhui Wang | 2022 | Journal of Plant Ecology2022,15,5: | 1 |
| 6 | Step distribution of Yb filling fraction during microstructural evolution in skutterudites显示文摘To achieve a better material for thermoelectric power generation device, filled skutterudite Yb0.3 Co_4 Sb_(12) samples were fabricated by melting-quenching-annealing-spark plasma sintering(SPS)method. Two sets of samples, before and after SPS, were investigated. In both the two sets of samples,the average grain size of the samples increases monotonously with the increase of annealing time,while Yb filling fraction firstly increases and then decreases. Yb not filling into the skutterudite remains at the grain boundaries in the form of Yb_2 O_3 after SPS, which could be quantified by the spatially difference method of energy dispersive spectra. Step distribution of Yb filling fraction was observed in the samples annealed for 1 h, which was caused by the microstructural evolution from the peritectic phases to the skutterudite phase. The sample annealed for 3 days and SPS sintered possesses the maximum value of Yb filling fraction 0.249 and the maximum ZT value of 1.24 at 850 K. | 8 | High-timing-precision detection of single X-ray photons by superconducting nanowires显示文摘Precisely acquiring the timing information of individual X-ray photons is important in both fundamental research and practical applications. The timing precision of commonly used X-ray single-photon detectors remains in the range of one hundred picoseconds to microseconds. In this work, we report on high-timing-precision detection of single X-ray photons through the fast transition to the normal state from the superconductive state of superconducting nanowires. We successfully demonstrate a free-running X-ray single-photon detector with a timing resolution of 20.1 ps made of 100-nm-thick niobium nitride film with an active area of 50 μm by 50 μm. By using a repeated differential timing measurement on two adjacent X-ray single-photon detectors, we demonstrate a precision of 0.87 ps in the arrival-time difference of X-ray photon measurements. | 10 | Canopy structure:An intermediate factor regulating grassland diversity-function relationships under human disturbances显示文摘Grasslands are one of the largest coupled human-nature terrestrial ecosystems on Earth,and severe anthropogenic-induced grassland ecosystem function declines have been reported recently.Understanding factors influencing grassland ecosystem functions is critical for making sustainable management policies.Canopy structure is an important factor influencing plant growth through mediating within-canopy microclimate(e.g.,light,water,and wind),and it is found coordinating tightly with plant species diversity to influence forest ecosystem functions.However,the role of canopy structure in regulating grassland ecosystem functions along with plant species diversity has been rarely investigated.Here,we investigated this problem by collecting field data from 170 field plots distributed along an over 2000 km transect across the northern agro-pastoral ecotone of China.Aboveground net primary productivity(ANPP)and resilience,two indicators of grassland ecosystem functions,were measured from field data and satellite remote sensing data.Terrestrial laser scanning data were collected to measure canopy structure(represented by mean height and canopy cover).Our results showed that plant species diversity was positively correlated to canopy structural traits,and negatively correlated to human activity intensity.Canopy structure was a significant indicator for ANPP and resilience,but their correlations were inconsistent under different human activity intensity levels.Compared to plant species diversity,canopy structural traits were better indicators for grassland ecosystem functions,especially for ANPP.Through structure equation modeling analyses,we found that plant species diversity did not have a direct influence on ANPP under human disturbances.Instead,it had a strong indirect effect on ANPP by altering canopy structural traits.As to resilience,plant species diversity had both a direct positive contribution and an indirect contribution through mediating canopy cover.This study highlights that canopy structure is an important intermediate factor regulating grassland diversity-function relationships under human disturbances,which should be included in future grassland monitoring and management. | Xiaoxia Zhao Yuhao Feng Kexin Xu Mengqi Cao Shuya Hu Qiuli Yang Xiaoqiang Liu Qin Ma Tianyu Hu Maggi Kelly Qinghua Guo Yanjun Su | 2023 | Fundamental Research2023,3,2: | 0 |

| 15 | Nanomedicine-based treatment:An emerging therapeutical strategy for pulmonary hypertension显示文摘Pulmonary hypertension(PH)can cause breathing difficulty,a rapid decline of exercise capacity,heart failure,eventually death of the patients.The latest epidemiological study demonstrates that PH has a much higher incidence than previously thought.PH is still a highly fatal disease due to the many disadvantages of the current drugs,such as short half-life,lack of targeting,potent side effects.The PH pathological features offer great opportunities for nanomedicines for PH.Recently,emerging nanomedicines demonstrated great advantages in the therapeutic effect of PH by enhancing the accumulation of drugs in PH lesion,optimizing drug efficacy,minimizing drug side effects.However,this promising field of cross-cutting research is far from being widely explored due to the huge professional barriers.To solve this problem,we provide a comprehensive review for the latest progresses of nanomedicines in the treatment of PH.Firstly,we systematical summarized the PH pathological features and the current clinical drug treatment of PH.The advantages of nanomedicines are also deeply discussed in the treatment of PH.Subsequently,we focused on the research progresses of nanomedicines in PH through three aspects:advanced nano-drug delivery system for traditional drugs and new target drugs,gene therapy-based nanomedicines,other nanomedicines for the treatment of PH.Finally,we also discussed the prospects and challenges for the clinical application of nanomedicines in PH,provided directions for the research and development of nanomedicines for PH treatment in the future. | Shuya Wang Qiaohui Chen Tianjiao Zhao Kelong Ai Changping Hu | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,5: | 0 |
| 16 | Artificial intelligence empowering research on loneliness, depression and anxiety-Using Covid-19 as an opportunity显示文摘The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on public mental health,leading to a surge in loneliness,depression,and anxiety.And these public psychological issues increasingly become a factor affecting social order.As researchers explore ways to address these issues,artificial intelligence(AI)has emerged as a powerful tool for understanding and supporting mental health.In this paper,we provide a thorough literature review on the emotions(EMO)of loneliness,depression,and anxiety(EMO-LDA)before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.Additionally,we evaluate the application of AI in EMO-LDA research from 2018 to 2023(AI-LDA)using Latent Dirichlet Allocation(LDA)topic modeling.Our analysis reveals a significant increase in the proportion of literature on EMO-LDA and AI-LDA before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.We also observe changes in research hotspots and trends in both field.Moreover,our results suggest that the collaborative research of EMO-LDA and AI-LDA is a promising direction for future research.In conclusion,our review highlights the urgent need for effective interventions to address the mental health challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.Our findings suggest that the integration of AI in EMO-LDA research has the potential to provide new insights and solutions to support individuals facing loneliness,depression,and anxiety.And we hope that our study will inspire further research in this vital and revelant domin. | Qijian Zheng Feng Liu Shuya Xu Jingyi Hu Haixing Lu Tingting Liu | 2023 | Journal of Safety Science and Resilience2023,4,4: | 0 |
