1Optical vortices 30 years on:OAM manipulation from topological charge to multiple singularities显示文摘Thirty years ago,Coullet et al.proposed that a special optical field exists in laser cavities bearing some analogy with the superfluid vortex.Since then,optical vortices have been widely studied,inspired by the hydrodynamics sharing similar mathematics.Akin to a fluid vortex with a central flow singularity,an optical vortex beam has a phase singularity with a certain topological charge,giving rise to a hollow intensity distribution.Such a beam with helical phase fronts and orbital angular momentum reveals a subtle connection between macroscopic physical optics and microscopic quantum optics.These amazing properties provide a new understanding of a wide range of optical and physical phenomena,including twisting photons,spin–orbital interactions,Bose-Einstein condensates,etc.,while the associated technologies for manipulating optical vortices have become increasingly tunable and flexible.Hitherto,owing to these salient properties and optical manipulation technologies,tunable vortex beams have engendered tremendous advanced applications such as optical tweezers,high-order quantum entanglement,and nonlinear optics.This article reviews the recent progress in tunable vortex technologies along with their advanced applications.Yijie Shen Xuejiao Wang Zhenwei Xie Changjun Min Xing Fu Qiang Liu Mali Gong Xiaocong Yuan 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:77
22018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 4The state-of-the-art of the China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite mission显示文摘The China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite(CSES) mission was proposed in 2003 and approved in 2013 after ten years' scientific and engineering demonstrations. To meet the requirement of scientific objectives, the satellite is designed to be in a sunsynchronous orbit with an altitude of 507 km and descending node time of 14:00 LT. The CSES satellite carries 8 instruments,including search-coil magnetometer(SCM), electric field detector(EFD), high precision magnetometer(HPM), GNSS occultation receiver(GOR), plasma analyzer package(PAP), langmuir probe(LAP), high energetic particle package(HEPP) and detector(HEPD), and tri-band beacon(TBB), among which HEPD is provided by Italian Space Agency. The CSES satellite was launched successfully on February 2, 2018, and is planned to operate for 5 years. 5Protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-Ⅱ versus alpha-fetoprotein in the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma: A systematic review with meta-analysis显示文摘Background: As a promising biomarker of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC), protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-Ⅱ(PIVKA-Ⅱ) has been studied extensively. However, its diagnostic capability varies across HCC studies. This study aimed to compare the performance of PIVKA-Ⅱ with alpha-fetoprotein(AFP) in the diagnosis of HCC. Data sources: A systematic literature search was conducted to identify the studies from MEDLINE, Embase and Cochrane Library Databases, which were published up to December 20, 2017 to compare the diagnostic capability of PIVKA-Ⅱ and AFP for HCC. The data were pooled using random effects model. Pooled sensitivity and specificity were calculated. Summary receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC) was employed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of each marker. Results: Thirty-one studies were included. The pooled sensitivity(95% CI) of PIVKA-Ⅱ and AFP was 0.66(0.65–0.68) and 0.66(0.65–0.67), respectively in diagnosis of HCC; and the corresponding pooled specificity(95% CI) was 0.89(0.88–0.90) and 0.84(0.83–0.85), respectively. The area under the ROC curve(AUC) of PIVKA-Ⅱ and AFP was 0.856(0.817–0.895) and 0.770(0.728–0.811), respectively. Subgroup analysis showed that PIVKA-Ⅱ was superior to AFP in terms of the AUC for both small HCC( < 3 cm) [0.863(0.825–0.901) vs 0.717(0.658–0.776)] and large HCC( ≥ 3 cm) [0.854(0.811–0.897) vs 0.729(0.682–0.776)]; for American [0.926(0.897–0.955) vs 0.698(0.594–0.662)], European [0.772(0.743–0.801) vs 0.628(0.594–0.662)], Asian [0.838(0.812–0.864) vs 0.785(0.764–0.806)] and African [0.812(0.794–0.840) vs 0.721(0.675–0.767)] HCC patients; and for HBV-related [0.909(0.866–0.951) vs 0.714(0.673–0.755)] and mixed-etiology [0.847(0.821–0.873) vs 0.794(0.772–0.816)] HCC. 7Effect of Substructure on Toughness of Lath Martensite/Bainite Mixed Structure in Low-Carbon Steels显示文摘The quantitative analysis of substructure in the martensite/bainite mixed structure, which is obtained from low-carbon NiCrMoV steels under different cooling conditions, was made by means of optical microscope (OM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), and transmission electron microscope (TEM), in order to research the effect on toughness. The test results indicate that the toughness of the steel is enhanced with the decrease in the packet and block size under the condition of the same prior austenite grain size mixed with different ratios of martensite and bainite while the lath width is about 0.38 μm. The calculation shows that both the packet and block boundaries have the same hindering effect on crack extension. Furthermore, the effect of the block width on impact energy is much larger than that of the packet. 10Porphyrin-like Fe-N4 sites with sulfur adjustment on hierarchical porous carbon for different rate-determining steps in oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘We developed a strategy based on coordination polymer to synthesize singleatom site Fe/N and S-codoped hierarchical porous carbon (Fe1/N,S-PC).The as-obtained Fe1/N,S-PC exhibited superior oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) performance with a half-wave potential (Ev2,0.904 V vs.RHE) that was better than that of commercial Pt/C (E1/2,0.86 V vs.RHE),single-atom site Fe/N-doped hierarchical porous carbon (Fe1/N-PC) without S-doped (E1/2,0.85 V vs.RHE),and many other nonprecious metal catalysts in alkaline medium.Moreover,the Fe1/N,S-PC revealed high methanol tolerance and firm stability.The excellent electrocatalytic activity of Fe1/N,S-PC is attributed to the synergistic effects from the atomically dispersed porphyrin-like Fe-N4 active sites,the heteroatom codoping (N and S),and the hierarchical porous structure in the carbon materials.The calculation based on density functional theory further indicates that the catalytic performance of Fe1/N,S-PC is better than that of Fe1/N-PC owing to the sulfur doping that yielded different rate-determining steps.Konglin Wu Xin Chen Shoujie Liu Yuan Pan Weng-Chon Cheong Wei Zhu Xing Cao Rongan Shen Wenxing Chen Jun LUO Wensheng Yan Lirong Zheng Zheng Chen Dingsheng Wang Qing Peng Chen Chen Yadong Li 2018Nano Research2018,11,12:18
11Effect of Shoushen granule on arterial elasticity in patients with carotid atherosclerosis:a clinical randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effectiveness of Shoushen granule,Chinese herbal preparation,on carotid artery elasticity in patients with carotid atherosclerosis.METHODS: The total of 156 carotid atherosclerosis patients were randomly divided into the intervention group(83 cases,treated with Shoushen granule) and the control group(73 cases,treated with pravastatin). Brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity(ba PWV) and Ankle-Brachial Pressure Index(ABI)were measured by automated arteriosclerosis detector. The changes of common carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT) and parameters of the carotid artery elasticity in patients,including stiffness parameter(β),pressure-strain elastic modulus(Ep),arterial compliance(Ac),augmentation index(AI),and pulse wave velocity β(PWVβ) were detected by Echo-Tracking(ET) technique before and after 24 week treatment. In the meantime,levels of blood lipid,and liver and renal function were measured respectively.RESULTS: After 24 weeks,ba PWV,IMT and parameters of the carotid artery elasticity(β,Ep,AI and PWVβ) were markedly decreased in intervention group compared with those of before treatment(P < 0.01),but the level of Ac was increased significantly(P < 0.01). 12Cleaning space debris with a space-based laser system显示文摘High-energy pulsed laser radiation may be the most feasible means to mitigate the threat of collision of a space station or other valuable space assets with orbital debris in the size range of 1–10 cm. Under laser irradiation, part of the debris material is ablated and provides an impulse to the debris particle. Proper direction of the impulse vector either deflects the object trajectory or forces the debris on a trajectory through the upper atmosphere, where it burns up. Most research concentrates on ground-based laser systems but pays little attention to space-based laser systems.There are drawbacks of a ground-based laser system in cleaning space debris. Therefore the placement of a laser system in space is proposed and investigated. Under assumed conditions,the elimination process of space debris is analyzed. Several factors such as laser repetition frequency, relative movement between the laser and debris, and inclination of debris particles which may exercise influence to the elimination effects are discussed. A project of a space-based laser system is proposed according to the numerical results of a computer study. 13Effects of Salvia miltiorrhiza on intestinal microflora in rats with ischemia/reperfusion liver injury显示文摘BACKGROUND: Hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury may induce intestinal microflora imbalance. Salvia miltiorrhiza is effective in promoting blood circulation and counteracting peroxidation in tissues. The aim of the present study was to determine the effects of Salvia miltiorrhiza on intestinal mi- croflora, endotoxemia, and bacterial translocation in rats with hepatic I/R injury. METHODS: Sprague-Dawley rats in specific pathogen free grade were divided into 3 groups: group I(n =6) for sham operation: groups ( n = 7) for liver ische- mia for 20 minutes and reperfusion for 22 hours. Group was also pretreated with 4 ml/day of Salvia miltiorrhiza solu- tion (250 mg/kg) by daily gavage for 7 days. The levels of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate amino- transferase (AST), malondialdehyde ( MDA) and supero- xide dismutase ( SOD ) in liver tissues, serum endotoxin, intestinal bacterial counts, intestinal mucosal histology and bacterial translocation were studied. RESULTS: The levels of ALT, AST, plasma endotoxin and MDA in liver tissues were decreased more markedly in group (57.57 ± 18.08 U/L, 147.57 ±40.84 U/L, 0.42 ± 0.144 EU/ml and 0. 52 ±0.19 nmol/mg-prot respectively) in group 295.9±216.92 U/L, 0.80± 0.262 EU/ml and 0.72±0.12 nmol/mg-prot; P <0.05-0.01 respectively). Liver SOD activity was increased more sig- nificantly in group (318.47±64.62 U/mg-prot) than in group U/mg-prot, P<0.05). The counts of Bifidobacteria and Bacteroides increased more significantly in group than in group but were similar to those in group I. Bacterial translocation to the kidney in group was 50% (5/10), whereas no bacterial translocation to the kidney occurred in the other two groups (P <0. 01). 15Effect of Quercetin on Atherosclerosis Based on Expressions of ABCA1, LXR-α and PCSK9 in ApoE-/- Mice显示文摘Objective:To investigate the effect of quercetin on ATP binding cassette transporter A1(ABCA1),liver X receptor(LXR),and proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9(PCSK9)expressions in apoE-knockout(ApoE-/-)mice.Methods:The high-fat diet-induced atherosclerosis(AS)in ApoE-/-mice was established.Thirtysix mice were divided into 3 groups using random number table method:model group(n=12),quercetin group(n=12),and atorvastatin group(n=12),with C57BL/6J mice of the same strain and age as the control group(n=12).Quercetin group and atorvastatin group were administrated with quercetin and atorvastatin by oral gavage,with doses of 12.5 and 4 mg/(kg・d),respectively.Animals in the control and model groups were given an equal volume of distilled water by oral gavage once per day for a total of 12 weeks.Western blot and immunohistochemical methods were employed to determine the aortic ABCA1,LXR-a and PCSK9 protein expressi on.En zyme linked imm uno sorbent assay method was used to detect the expressi on of serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoproteincholesterol(LDL-C),tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-a),interleukin-6(IL-6),and IL-10,combined with tissue pathological exami nation.Results:ApoE-/-mice fed with a high-fat diet had no table atherosclerosis lesions,with reduced ABCA1,LXR-a and IL-10 levels(all P<0.01),elevated PCSK9,TNF-a and IL-6 expression,and increased TC and LDL-C con tents(all P<0.01).After querceti n in terventi on,the areas of AS plaques and the expressions of PCSK9,TNF-a and IL-6 were significantly reduced(all P<0.01),while the expressions of ABCA1 and LXR-a were increased significantly(all P<0.01).Conclusion:Quercetin effectively interfered with AS development by regulating the expressions of ABCA1,LXR-a and PCSK9 in ApoE,mice.LI Shan-shan CAO Hui SHEN Ding-zhu CHEN Chuan XING San-li DOU Fang-fang JIA Qing-ling 2020Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2020,26,2:13
16Relationship between lymph node sinuses with blood and lymphatic metastasis of gastric cancer显示文摘AIM: To elucidate the relationship between lymph nodesinuses with blood and lymphatic metastasis of gastric cancer.METHODS: Routine autopsy was carried out in the randomlyselected 102 patients (among them 100 patients died ofvarious diseases, and 2 patients died of non-diseasedreasons), their superficial lymph nodes locating in bilateralnecks (include supraclavicle), axilla, inguina, thorax, andabdomen were sampled. Haematoxylin-Eosin staining wasperformed on 10 % formalin-fixed and paraffin-embeddedlymph node tissue sections (Sum). The histological pattemsof the lymph sinuses containing blood were observed underlight microscope. The expression of CD31, a marker forendothelial cell, was detected both in blood and non-bloodcontaining lymph node sinuses with the method ofimmunohistochemistry.RESULTS: Among the 1322 lymph nodes sampled fromthe autopsies of 100 diseased cases, lymph node sinusescontaining blood were found in 809 lymph nodes sampledfrom 91 cases, but couldn't be seen in the lymph nodessampled from the non-diseased cases. According to histology,we divided the blood containing lymph node sinuses intofive categories: vascular-opening sinus, blood-deficient sinus,erythrophago-sinus, blood-abundant sinus, vascular-formative sinus. Immunohistochemical findings showed thatthe expression of CD31 was strongly positive in vascular-formative sinuses and some vascular-opening sinuses whileit was faint in blood-deficient sinuses, erythrophago-sinusesand some vascular-opening sinuses. It was almost negativein blood-abundant sinus and non-blood containing sinus.CONCLUSION: In the state of disease, the phenomenonof blood present in the lymph sinus is not uncommon. Bloodcould possibly enter into the lymph sinuses through thelymphaticovenous communications between the veins andthe sinuses in the node. Lymph circulation and the bloodcirculation could communicate with each other in the lymphnode sinuses. 17Hemi-semi Laminectomy Approach for the Microsurgical Treatment of Spinal Schwannomas显示文摘Objective To evaluate the safety and efficiency of hemi-semi laminectomy approach for the microsurgical treatment of spinal schwannomas.Methods A total of 22 patients underwent hemi-semi laminectomy for the microsurgical removal of spinal schwannomas during a period of 2009 and 2011 in Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University.We retrospectively analyzed the clinical outcomes of these patients.Results Of them,5 cases were diagnosed with cervical schwannomas,9 with thoracic schwannomas,and 8 with lumbar schwannomas.All the tumors including two dumbbell schwannomas were totally removed without major complications.Postoperatively,all patients were followed up from 6 to 36 months.The symptoms and signs were obviously improved,and no tumor recurrence or spinal deformity occurred.Conclusion Hemi-semi laminectomy is a safe and effective method for resection of spinal schwannomas.Xing Su Wei Shi Qing-feng Huang Jian-hong Shen Jian Chen 2012Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2012,27,2:11

19De novo assembly of a Chinese soybean genome显示文摘Soybean was domesticated in China and has become one of the most important oilseed crops. Due to bottlenecks in their introduction and dissemination, soybeans from different geographic areas exhibit extensive genetic diversity. Asia is the largest soybean market; therefore, a high-quality soybean reference genome from this area is critical for soybean research and breeding.Here, we report the de novo assembly and sequence analysis of a Chinese soybean genome for 'Zhonghuang 13' by a combination of SMRT, Hi-C and optical mapping data. The assembled genome size is 1.025 Gb with a contig N50 of 3.46 Mb and a scaffold N50 of 51.87 Mb. Comparisons between this genome and the previously reported reference genome(cv. Williams82) uncovered more than 250,000 structure variations. A total of 52,051 protein coding genes and 36,429 transposable elements were annotated for this genome, and a gene co-expression network including 39,967 genes was also established. 20Efficient Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ) cycling triggered by MoO2 in Fenton reaction for the degradation of dye molecules and the reduction of Cr(Ⅵ)显示文摘There is a relatively low efficiency of Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ) conversion cycle and H2 O2 decomposition(<30%) in conventional Fenton process,which further results in a low production efficiency of ·OH and seriously restricts the application of Fenton.Herein,we report that the commercial MoO2 can be used as the cocatalyst in Fenton process to dramatically accelerate the oxidation of Lissamine rhodamine B(L-RhB),where the efficiency of Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ) cycling is greatly enhanced in the Fenton reaction meanwhile.And the L-RhB solution could be degraded nearly 100% in 1 min in the MoO2 cocatalytic Fenton system under the optimal reaction condition,which is apparently better than that of the conventional Fenton system(~50%).Different from the conventional Fenton reaction where the ’OH plays an important role in the oxidation process,it shows that 1 O2 contributes most in the MoO2 cocatalytic Fenton reaction.However,it is found that the exposed Mo^4+ active sites on the surface of MoO2 powders can greatly promote the rate-limiting step of Fe^3+/Fe^2+ cycle conversion,thus minimizing the dosage of H2 O2(0.400 mmol/L) and Fe^2+(0.105 mmol/L).Interestingly,the MoO2 cocatalytic Fenton system also exhibits a good ability for reducing Cr(Ⅵ) ions,where the reduction ability for Cr(Ⅵ) reaches almost 100% within 2 h.In short,this work shows a new discovery for M002 cocatalytic advanced oxidation processes(AOPs),which devotes a lot to the practical water remediation application.Bin Shen Chencheng Dong Jiahui Ji Mingyang Xing Jinlong Zhang 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,12:11
