| 1 | Climate and litter C/N ratio constrain soil organic carbon accumulation显示文摘Soil organic carbon(SOC) plays critical roles in stabilizing atmospheric CO2 concentration, but the mechanistic controls on the amount and distribution of SOC on global scales are not well understood. In turn, this has hampered the ability to model global C budgets and to find measures to mitigate climate change. Here, based on the data from a large field survey campaign with 2600 plots across China’s forest ecosystems and a global collection of published data from forested land, we find that a low litter carbon-to-nitrogen ratio(C/N) and high wetness index(P/PET, precipitation-to-potentialevapotranspiration ratio) are the two factors that promote SOC accumulation, with only minor contributions of litter quantity and soil texture. The field survey data demonstrated that high plant diversity decreased litter C/N and thus indirectly promoted SOC accumulation by increasing the litter quality. We conclude that any changes in plant-community composition, plant-species richness and environmental factors that can reduce the litter C/N ratio, or climatic changes that increase wetness index, may promote SOC accumulation. | 2 | The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. | 3 | Effect of Ni on the microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of MgGd_1Ni_(x) alloys for fracturing ball applications显示文摘The effects of Ni addition on the mechanical properties, corrosion behaviors, and corrosion mechanism of Mg Gd_1 Ni_(x) alloys have been investigated by compressive tests, weight loss, hydrogen evolution, and scanning electron microscopy. The results show that the constitution of the second phase is large dependence on Ni/Gd molar ratios, which can transform from LPSO(long-period stacking ordered)+Mg_5 Gd,LPSO to eutectic phase. In addition, with increasing Ni/Gd molar ratios, the content of second phase increases gradually, while the LPSO phase shows a parabola relationship. Furthermore, the formation of Nicontaining LPSO phase not only can improve the strength but also accelerate the degradation of Mg alloys owing to the galvanic corrosion. | 4 | Ultra-high-resolution detection of Pb2+ ions using a black phosphorus functionalized microfiber coil resonator显示文摘A black phosphorus(BP) functionalized optical fiber sensor based on a microfiber coil resonator(MCR) for Pb^2+ ion detection in an aquatic environment is presented and experimentally demonstrated. The MCR-BP sensor is manufactured by winding a tapered microfiber on a hollow rod composed of a low-refractive-index polycarbonate(PC) resin with the BP deposited on the internal wall of the rod. Based on the propagation properties of the MCR, the chemical interaction between the Pb^2+ ions and the BP alters the refractive index of the ambient environment and thus results in a detectable shift in the transmission spectrum. The resonance wavelength moves towards longer wavelengths with an increasing concentration of Pb^2+ ions, and the sensor has an ultra-high detection resolution of 0.0285 ppb(parts per billion). The temperature dependence is 106.95 pm/°C due to the strong thermo-optic and thermal-expansion effect of the low-refractive-index PC resin. In addition, the sensor shows good stability over a period of 15 days. The local pH also influences the sensor, with the resonance wavelength shift increasing as pH approaches a value of 7 but then decreasing as the pH value increases further due to the effect of the BP layer by H^+ and OH-ions. | 10 | Electrochemical Removal of Chlorophenol Pollutants by Reactive Electrode Membranes: Scale-Up Strategy for Engineered Applications显示文摘Chlorophenols(CPs)are significant refractory pollutants that are highly toxic to humans and other organ-isms.Reactive electrode membranes(REMs)show considerable potential in the electrochemical removal of refractory pollutants by allowing flow-through operations with convection-enhanced mass transfer.However,relevant studies are commonly performed on the laboratory scale,and there is no straightfor-ward method that guarantees success in scaling up engineered REM reactors.In this study,we demon-strated that a tubular concentric electrode(TCE)configuration with a titanium suboxide ceramic anode and a stainless-steel cathode is suitable for large-scale CPs removal.Both theoretical and experi-mental results showed that the TCE configuration not only allows the electrode surface to be orthogonal to electric field lines everywhere,but also has an ohmic resistance that is inversely proportional to the length of the electrode.In addition,the TCE configuration can be operated in either the anode-to-cathode(AC)or the cathode-to-anode(CA)mode based on the flow direction,creating adjustable condi-tions for selective degradation of CPs.This was confirmed by 98%removal of 2,4-dichlorophenol(2,4-DCP)and 72.5%removal of chemical oxygen demand(COD)in the CA mode,in which the kinetic constant was one order of magnitude higher than that for the AC mode under flow-through single-pass operations.This can be explained by the lower activation energy and free energy in the CA mode,as revealed by the-oretical calculations and experimental measurements.The TCE configuration is also suitable for a numbering-up strategy to scale up the electrochemical reactor without increasing the ohmic resistance or decreasing the specific electrode area,achieving 99.4%removal of 2,4-DCP with an energy consump-tion of 1.5 kW·h·m^(-3) when three TCE modules were employed.This study presents a suitable electrode design configuration for the REM reactor,offering effective strategies to bridge the“Valley of Death”encountered when scaling up the electrochemical removal of CP pollutants. | Shuzhao Pei Yi Wang Shijie You Zhanguo Li Nanqi Ren | 2022 | Engineering2022,8,2: | 1 |

Fen-LCC preparation methods were screened, and the prepared Fen-LCC was then characterized by a polarizing microscope and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).The spray drying technique was selected to dry and solidify particles into powder. The in vitro release of Fen-LCC was measured and in vivo pharmacokinetic experiments were carried out on rats after oral administration. Particles prepared through the high-temperature input method exhibited structural characteristics of LCC, and re-dissolved particles maintained the same features. The LCC delivery system can significantly improve in vitro release outcomes. After oral administration, AUCs of the suspension and LCC systems were measured at 131.6853 μg·h/ml and 1435.72893 μg·h/ml, respectively. | 20 | Correlation Analysis of Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Types and Influencing Factors of Asthmatic Bronchitis in Children显示文摘Objective:To explore the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome types and the influencing factors of asthmatic bronchitis in children,as well as to provide clinical syndrome differentiation basis and reference for the treatment of children with asthmatic bronchitis.Methods:The clinical data of 197 inpatients with asthmatic bronchitis in our hospital from March 2021 to March 2022 were collected,referring to“Zhu Futang Practical Pediatrics”(7th Edition,2002)and“Chinese Medicine Industry Standards-Standards for Diagnosis and Efficacy of Pediatric Diseases and Syndromes of Traditional Chinese Medicine”(1994,State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine)for diagnosis,classification,and analysis of TCM syndrome types and the influencing factors of asthmatic bronchitis in children.Results:(i)cold asthma syndrome contributed to the majority of TCM syndrome types of pediatric asthmatic bronchitis;(ii)gender had a great influence on TCM syndromes types in children with asthmatic bronchitis,and the differences among the TCM syndrome types were statistically significant(P<0.05);(iii)there was no significant difference in the distribution of TCM syndrome types of pediatric asthmatic bronchitis among different age groups(P>0.05);(iv)birth status had no effect on the distribution of TCM syndrome types of pediatric asthmatic bronchitis(P>0.05);(v)no significant correlation was observed between the mode of delivery and the distribution of TCM syndrome types in children with asthmatic bronchitis(P>0.05);(vi)children with cold asthma syndrome,heat asthma syndrome,and mixed cold and heat syndrome were not breastfed,and there was no significant difference in the feeding methods of children with mixed deficiency and excess syndrome(P>0.05);(vii)no significant correlation was observed between the TCM syndrome types of pediatric asthmatic bronchitis and family history of asthma/allergy(P>0.05);(viii)a significant correlation was observed between different TCM syndrome types and history of drug and food allergy(P<0.05);(ix)normal or high eosinophil percentage was commonly observed in children with asthmatic bronchitis,and there was no significant difference among the different TCM syndrome types(P>0.05).Conclusion:The TCM syndrome types of pediatric asthmatic bronchitis are related to gender,feeding history,allergy history,and other factors,which may be influencing factors of the TCM syndrome types of pediatric asthmatic bronchitis. | Miao Ren Shijie Luo | 2023 | Proceedings of Anticancer Research2023,7,3: | 0 |
