1Gain self-scheduled H_∞ control for morphing aircraft in the wing transition process based on an LPV model显示文摘This article investigates gain self-scheduled H 1 robust control system design for a tailless fold- ing-wing morphing aircraft in the wing shape varying process. During the wing morphing phase, the aircraft's dynamic response will be governed by time-varying aerodynamic forces and moments. Nonlinear dynamic equations of the morphing aircraft are linearized by using Jacobian linearization approach, and a linear parameter varying (LPV) model of the morphing aircraft in wing folding is obtained. A multi-loop controller for the morphing aircraft is formulated to guarantee stability for the wing shape transition process. The proposed controller uses a set of inner-loop gains to provide stability using classical techniques, whereas a gain self-scheduled H 1 outer-loop controller is devised to guarantee a specific level of robust stability and performance for the time-varying dynamics. The closed-loop simulations show that speed and altitude vary slightly during the whole wing folding process, and they converge rapidly after the process ends. This proves that the gain self-scheduled H 1 robust controller can guarantee a satisfactory dynamic performance for the morphing aircraft during the whole wing shape transition process. 4An analysis of soil composition and mechanical properties of riverbanks in a braided reach of the Lower Yellow River显示文摘The channel adjustment in a braided reach is very prominent in the fluvial processes of the Lower Yel-low River, in which the process of bank erosion plays an important role, especially during the period of clear water scouring. The process of bank erosion is closely related to soil composition and mechani-cal properties of the riverbanks. In this paper, the recent bank erosion process in a braided reach be-tween Huayuankou and Gaocun was firstly investigated after the water impoundment and sediment detention of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir, and then a field observation and indoor soil tests were con-ducted at 10 typical riverbanks in the braided reach. Through analyzing the experimental results, changes of riverbank-soil composition and mechanical properties were found, and the two real reasons causing serious bank erosion in the braided reach were identified. The following conclusions were drawn from this study: (i) the majority of riverbanks are made up of cohesive soil, and can be charac-terized by obvious vertical stratification structures of soil composition; (ii) these riverbanks are very erodible due to the lower clay-content and weak erosion-resistant strength in the bank soil, with its critical shear stress value (0.1―0.3 Pa) being much less than that of the average near-bank flow shear stress (2.0―3.0 Pa), which is one important reason causing serious bank erosion; (iii) frequent occur-rence of bank failure during flood seasons usually results from the fact that the values of shear strength parameters such as the cohesion and internal friction angle decrease with the increase of water content in riverbank soil, and the value of cohesion reduces drastically from 34 to 4 kPa with the increase of water content, which is another important reason causing serious bank erosion in the braided reach.XlA JunQiang WU BaoSheng WANG YanPing ZHAO ShouGang 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,15:11
5MODELING OF THE DIVERSION CHANNEL CLOSURE FOR THE THIRD STAGE OF THE THREE GORGES PROJECT显示文摘The closure of third stage diversion channel for the Three Gorges Dam is characterized by large closure discharge, large drop in water surface, and high gap velocity. 1D and 2D flow mathematical models were used in this paper to simulate the hydraulic conditions during the closure. The variation of discharge in the diversion channel and the drops in water surface shared by the upstream and downstream cofferdams were computed using the 1D model, and the detailed hydraulic patterns in the diversion channel were simulated using the 2D model. 6Global aerodynamic design optimization based on data dimensionality reduction显示文摘In aerodynamic optimization, global optimization methods such as genetic algorithms are preferred in many cases because of their advantage on reaching global optimum. However,for complex problems in which large number of design variables are needed, the computational cost becomes prohibitive, and thus original global optimization strategies are required. To address this need, data dimensionality reduction method is combined with global optimization methods, thus forming a new global optimization system, aiming to improve the efficiency of conventional global optimization. The new optimization system involves applying Proper Orthogonal Decomposition(POD) in dimensionality reduction of design space while maintaining the generality of original design space. Besides, an acceleration approach for samples calculation in surrogate modeling is applied to reduce the computational time while providing sufficient accuracy. The optimizations of a transonic airfoil RAE2822 and the transonic wing ONERA M6 are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed new optimization system. In both cases, we manage to reduce the number of design variables from 20 to 10 and from 42 to 20 respectively. 8Contents of soil organic carbon and nitrogen in water-stable aggregates in abandoned agricultural lands in an arid ecosystem of Northwest China显示文摘Soil organic matter content in water-stable aggregates(WSA) in the arid ecosystems(abandoned agricultural lands especially) of China is poorly understood. In this study, we examined the WSA sizes and stability, and soil organic carbon(OC) and nitrogen(N) contents in agricultural lands with abandonment ages of 0, 3, 12, 20, 30 and 40 years, respectively, in the Minqin Oasis of Northwest China. The total soil OC and N contents at depths of 0–20, 20–40 and 40–60 cm in abandoned agricultural lands were compared to those in cultivated land(the control). Agricultural land abandonment significantly(P<0.05) influenced the distribution of MWD(mean weight diameter), and OC and N contents. There were significant increases in MWD and the proportion of macroaggregates(sizes >0.25 mm) as the age of agricultural land abandonment increased. The effect of abandonment ages of agricultural lands on MWD was determined by the changes of OC and N accumulation in WSA sizes >2 mm. The total OC and N contents presented a stratification phenomenon across soil depths in this arid ecosystem. That is, both of them decreased significantly at depths of 0–20 and 40–60 cm while increased at the depth of 20–40 cm. The WSA sizes <0.053 mm had the highest soil OC and N contents(accounting for 51.41%–55.59% and 42.61%–48.94% of their total, respectively). Soil OC and N contents in microaggregates(sizes 0.053–0.25 mm) were the dominant factors that influenced the variations of total OC and N contents in abandoned agricultural lands. The results of this study suggested that agricultural land abandonment may result in the recovery of WSA stability and the shifting of soil organic matter from the silt+clay(<0.053 mm) and microaggregate fractions to the macroaggregate fractions. 9Numerical investigation of radial inflow in the impeller rear cavity with and without baffle显示文摘In typical small engines, the cooling air for high pressure turbine(HPT) in a gas turbine engine is commonly bled off from the main flow at the tip of the centrifugal impeller. The pressurized air flow is drawn radially inwards through the impeller rear cavity. The centripetal air flow creates a strong vortex because of high inlet tangential velocity, which results in significant pressure losses. This not only restricts the mass flow rate, but also reduces the cooling air pressure for down-stream hot components. The present study is devoted to the numerical modeling of flow in an impeller rear cavity. The simulations are carried out with axisymmetric and 3-D sector models for various inlet swirl ratio β_0(0–0.6), turbulent flow parameter lT(0.028–0.280) with and without baffle. The baffle is a thin plate attached to the stationary wall of the cavity, and is proved to be useful in reducing the pressure loss of centripetal flow in the impeller rear cavity in the current paper. Further flow details in impeller rear cavity with and without baffle are displayed using CFD techniques. The CFD results show that for any specified geometry, the outlet pressure coefficient of impeller rear cavity with or without baffle depends only on the inlet swirl ratio and turbulent flow parameter. Meanwhile, the outlet pressure coefficient of the cavity with baffle is indeed smaller than that of cavity without baffle, especially for the cases with high inlet swirl ratio. 10Channel morphologic processes of a highly sinuous bend approaching neck cutoff by bank erosion in the middle Yangtze River显示文摘The distal reach of the Lower Jingjiang River(LJR)in the middle of the Yangtze River consists of five adjacent bends,among which the Qigongling Bend is a U-shaped meander with a mean sinuosity of 2.2 and the narrowest neck 525 m in width.This bend is slowly approaching neck cutoff owing to progressive bank erosion.An abnormal phenomenon has occurred in this bend since the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR)began to operate in 2003 which is erosion in the inner bank zone and deposition in the outer bank zone.This problem has not been fully understood because of the interplay of changes in water-sediment,bank erosion,and artificial bank revetment.In this study,aerial and remote sensing images,hydrological data,channel topography,and an existing bank erosion model are used to reveal channel morphodynamics of this bend and the trend of the potential neck cutoff induced by bank erosion.The study results show that the clear water released from the TGR has provided by forcefully eroded the point bar of inner bank but failed to scour the outer bank due to the protection of bank revetment since the 1990 s.Thus far,the outer bank zone near the bend apex has increasingly widened in conjunction with the formation of 2 emerging sand bars.Consequently,the thalweg of the main channel has laterally shifted toward the inner bank by roughly 800 m.More severely,the rate of bank retreat on the upstream side of the bend neck was about 4.5 m/yr in 2010-2019,but the downstream side of this neck was experienced slight deposition.Bank erosion could be accelerated by progressively increasing erosion and eventually trigger the occurrence of neck cutoff in the next few decades,thereby significantly altering the quasi-equilibrium regime of channel morphodynamics in the LJR.Zhiwei Li Hanyuan Yang Junqiang Xia Meirong Zhou Shanshan Deng Yingzhen Wang 2021International Journal of Sediment Research2021,36,4:5
11Control of endwall secondary flow in a compressor cascade with dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuation显示文摘Three dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuators were mounted at the positions of 20%,40%and 60%of chord length on the endwall in a compressor cascade.The downstream flow field of the cascade has been measured with a mini five-hole pressure probe with and without the plasma actuation.The measured results show that the plasma actuation most effectively reduces total pressure loss and flow blockage when the actuators are operated simultaneously.As each of the actuators is operated independently,the actuator at the position of 20%of chord length most effectively reduces flow blockage, and the actuator at the position of 60%of chord length fairly reduces total pressure loss.However, negative pressure loss reduction occurs with the plasma actuator at the position of 40%of chord length.In brief,the plasma actuation placed on the endwall in the cascade apparently influences the endwall secondary flow,and the optimal locations and strength of actuation are critical for the control of endwall secondary flow in a compressor cascade with the plasma actuators.LI Gang XU YanJi LIN Bin ZHU JunQiang NIE ChaoQun MA HongWei WANG ZhaoFeng 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,12:5
12Review of Molecular Simulation Method for Gas Adsorption/desorption and Diffusion in Shale Matrix显示文摘Shale gas is becoming an increasingly promising alternative energy resource because of its high efficiency and environment-friendly characteristic. The amount of adsorbed gas on the shale matrix surfaces and dissolved gas in the shale matrix bulk is the dominant factor in the long-term productivity of shale reservoir. Although experimental measurements have been extensively carried out to investigate the gas adsorption and diffusion properties in the shale matrix, they cannot provide the detailed information on the microscopic transport mechanism of shale gas during the gas production process. Molecular simulation can accurately visualize the gas adsorption/desorption and diffusion processes in the shale matrix. In the present study, the recent research advances of molecular simulation on gas adsorption/desorption and diffusion in the shale matrix are reviewed. Firstly, the density functional theory(DFT) for shale gas molecule desorption/adsorption on the surface of the matrix crystal is illustrated. Then, the grand canonical Monte Carlo(GCMC) method predicting the amount of shale gas desorption/adsorption in the shale matrix crystal is introduced. Finally, molecular dynamics simulation(MD) for gas diffusion in the shale matrix is elucidated. 13Characteristics and provenance implication of detrital minerals since Marine Isotope Stage 3 in Core SYS-0701 in the western South Huanghai Sea显示文摘The previous studies of the sedimentology and chronology of sediment core SYS-0701, which was recovered from the western South Huanghai Sea (Yellow Sea), have revealed the changes in the sea-level and sedimentary evolution during the late Quaternary in the region. The present study used mineralogical data from the section of the core deposited since Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 3, to decipher the provenance of sediments of the paleo-delta deposited during MIS 3 and MIS 1. Based on the lithologic features and the variations with depth of the concentrations of carbonates and both heavy and light minerals in bulk samples, the upper part of Core SYS-0701 can be divided into three units designated DU1, DU4, and DU5, in accord with previously used terminology. Sub-units of units DU1 (DU1-1 and DU1-2) and DU4 (DU4-1 and DU4-2) have also been identified. DU1 was deposited during MIS 1, and DU4 and DU 5 were formed during MIS 3. All data pertaining to dominant heavy mineral assemblages, diagnostic minerals, ratios of diagnostic minerals, light mineral associations, textural maturities, and carbonate contents, indicate that the sediments of Core SYS-0701 are comparable with Huanghe River (Yellow River) sediments. Moreover, the mineralogy of the sediment evidenced its dependence on supply rates and hydrodynamic conditions. 14Numerical simulation based on two-directional freeze and thaw algorithm for thermal diffusion model显示文摘Freeze-thaw processes significantly modulate hydraulic and thermal characteristics of soil. The changes in the frost and thaw fronts(FTFs) affect the water and energy cycles between the land surface and the atmosphere. Thus, the frozen soil comprising permafrost and seasonally frozen soil has important effects on the land surface hydrology in cold regions. In this study, a two-directional freeze and thaw algorithm is incorporated into a thermal diffusion equation for simulating FTFs. A local adaptive variable-grid method is used to discretize the model. Sensitivity tests demonstrate that the method is stable and FTFs can be tracked continuously. The FTFs and soil temperature at the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau D66 site are simulated hourly from September 1, 1997 to September 22, 1998. 15Quantitative trait locus mapping with background control in genetic populations of clonal F_1 and double cross显示文摘In this study, we considered five categories of molecular markers in clonal F_1 and double cross populations,based on the number of distinguishable alleles and the number of distinguishable genotypes at the marker locus. Using the completed linkage maps, incomplete and missing markers were imputed as fully informative markers in order to simplify the linkage mapping approaches of quantitative trait genes. Under the condition of fully informative markers, we demonstrated that dominance effect between the female and male parents in clonal F_1 and double cross populations can cause the interactions between markers. We then developed an inclusive linear model that includes marker variables and marker interactions so as to completely control additive effects of the female and male parents, as well as the dominance effect between the female and male parents. The linear model was finally used for background control in inclusive composite interval mapping(ICIM) of quantitative trait locus(QTL). The ef ficiency of ICIM was demonstrated by extensive simulations and by comparisons with simple interval mapping, multiple-QTL models and composite interval mapping. 16The Influence of Wedge Diffuser Blade Number and Divergence Angle on the Performance of a High Pressure Ratio Centrifugal Compressor显示文摘Wedge diffuser is widely used in centrifugal compressors due to its high performance and compact size. This paper is aimed to research the influence of wedge diffuser blade number and divergence angle on centrifugal compressor performance. The impact of wedge diffuser blade number on compressor stage performance is investigated, and then the wedge diffusers with different divergence angle are studied by varying diffuser wedge angle and blade number simultaneously. It is found that wedge diffuser with 27 blades could have about 0.8% higher adiabatic efficiency and 0.14 higher total pressure ratio than the wedge diffuser with 19 blades and the best compressor performance is achieved when diffuser divergence angle is 8.3°.These results could give some advices on centrifugal compressor design.WANG Yi HAN Ge LU Xingen ZHU Junqiang 2018Journal of Thermal Science2018,27,1:4
17Precise orbit determination for BDS satellites显示文摘Since the frst pair of BeiDou satellites was deployed in 2000,China has made continuous eforts to establish its own independent BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS)to provide the regional radio determination satellite service as well as regional and global radio navigation satellite services,which rely on the high quality of orbit and clock products.This article summarizes the achievements in the precise orbit determination(POD)of BDS satellites in the past decade with the focus on observation and orbit dynamic models.First,the disclosed metadata of BDS satellites is presented and the contribution to BDS POD is addressed.The complete optical properties of the satellite bus as well as solar panels are derived based on the absorbed parameters as well the material properties.Secondly,the status and tracking capabilities of the L-band data from accessible ground networks are presented,while some low earth orbiter satellites with onboard BDS tracking capability are listed.The topological structure and measurement scheme of BDS Inter-Satellite-Link(ISL)data are described.After highlighting the progress on observation models as well as orbit perturbations for BDS,e.g.,phase center corrections,satellite attitude,and solar radiation pressure,diferent POD strategies used for BDS are summarized.In addition,the urgent requirement for error modeling of the ISL data is emphasized based on the analysis of the observation noises,and the incompatible characteristics of orbit and clock derived with L-band and ISL data are illuminated and discussed.The further researches on the improvement of phase center calibration and orbit dynamic models,the refnement of ISL observation models,and the potential contribution of BDS to the estimation of geodetic parameters based on L-band or ISL data are identifed.With this,it is promising that BDS can achieve better performance and provides vital contributions to the geodesy and navigation.Qile Zhao Jing Guo Chen Wang Yifei Lyu Xiaolong Xu Chao Yang Junqiang Li 2022Satellite Navigation2022,3,1:4
18Site-Specifc Gene Targeting Using Transcription Activator-Like Effector(TALE)-Based Nuclease in Brassica oleracea显示文摘Site-specifc recognition modules with DNA nuclease have tremendous potential as molecular tools for genome targeting.The type III transcription activator-like effectors(TALEs)contain a DNA binding domain consisting of tandem repeats that can be engineered to bind user-defned specifc DNA sequences.We demonstrated that customized TALE-based nucleases(TALENs),constructed using a method called'unit assembly',specifcally target the endogenous FRIGIDA gene in Brassica oleracea L.var.capitata L.The results indicate that the TALENs bound to the target site and cleaved double-strand DNA in vitro and in vivo,whereas the effector binding elements have a 23 bp spacer.The T7 endonuclease I assay and sequencing data show that TALENs made double-strand breaks,which were repaired by a non-homologous end-joining pathway within the target sequence.These data show the feasibility of applying customized TALENs to target and modify the genome with deletions in those organisms that are still in lacking gene target methods to provide germplasms in breeding improvement.Zijian Sun Nianzu Li Guodong Huang Junqiang Xu Yu Pan Zhimin Wang Qinglin Tang Ming Song Xiaojia Wang 2013Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2013,55,11:3
19Impacts of climate change and human activities on water resources in the Ebinur Lake Basin, Northwest China显示文摘Changing climatic conditions and extensive human activities have influenced the global water cycle.In recent years,significant changes in climate and land use have degraded the watershed ecosystem of the Ebinur Lake Basin in Xinjiang,Northwest China.In this paper,variations of runoff,temperature,precipitation,reference evapotranspiration,lake area,socio-economic water usage,groundwater level and water quality in the Ebinur Lake Basin from 1961 to 2015 were systematically analyzed by the Mann-Kendall test methods(M-K)mutation test,the cumulative levelling method,the climate-sensitive method and land-use change index.In addition,we evaluated the effects of human activities on land use change and water quality.The results reveal that there was a significant increase in temperature and precipitation from 1961 to 2015,despite a decrease in reference evapotranspiration.The Wenquan station was not significantly affected by human activities as it is situated at a higher altitude.Runoff at this station increased significantly with climate warming.In contrast,runoff at the Jinghe station was severely affected by numerous human activities.Runoff decreased without obvious fluctuations.The contributions of climate change to runoff variation at the Jinghe and Wenquan stations were 46.87%and 58.94%,respectively;and the contributions of human activities were 53.13%and 41.06%,respectively.Land-use patterns in the basin have changed significantly between 1990 and 2015:urban and rural constructed lands,saline-alkali land,bare land,cultivated land,and forest land have expanded,while areas under grassland,lake,ice/snow and river/channel have declined.Human activities have dramatically intensified land degradation and desertification.From 1961 to 2015,both the inflow into the Ebinur Lake and the area of the lake have declined year by year;groundwater levels have dropped significantly,and the water quality has deteriorated during the study period.In the oasis irrigation area below the runoff pass,human activities mainly influenced the utilization mode and quantity of water resources.Changes in the hydrology and quantity of water resources were driven primarily by the continuous expansion of cultivated land and oasis,as well as the growth of population and the construction of hydraulic engineering projects.After 2015,the effects of some ecological protection projects were observed.However,there was no obvious sign of ecological improvement in the basin,and some environmental problems continue to persist.On this basis,this study recommends that the expansion of oasis should be limited according to the carrying capacity of the local water bodies.Moreover,in order to ensure the ecological security of the basin,it is necessary to determine the optimal oasis area for sustainable development and improve the efficiency of water resources exploitation and utilization.WANG Yuejian GU Xinchen YANG Guang YAO Junqiang LIAO Na 2021Journal of Arid Land2021,13,6:3
20Numerical Study of Effect of Compressor Swirling Flow on Combustor Design in a MTE显示文摘An effect of the swirling flow on the combustion performance is studied by the computational fluid dynamics(CFD) in a micro-gas turbine with a centrifugal compressor, dump diffuser and forward-flow combustor. The distributions of air mass and the Temperature Pattern Factor(as: Overall Temperature Distribution Factor-OTDF) in outlet are investigated with two different swirling angles of compressed air as 0° and 15° in three combustors. The results show that the influences of swirling flow on the air distribution and OTDF cannot be neglected. Compared with no-swirling flow, the air through outer liner is more, and the air through the inner liner is less, and the pressure loss is bigger under the swirling condition in the same combustor.
