| 2 | Convergence proof of the DSMC method and the Gas-Kinetic Unified Algorithm for the Boltzmann equation显示文摘This paper investigates the convergence proof of the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo(DSMC) method and the Gas-Kinetic Unified Algorithm in simulating the Boltzmann equation.It can be shown that the particle velocity distribution function obtained by the DSMC method converges to a modified form of the Boltzmann equation,which is the equation of the gas-kinetic unified algorithm to directly solve the molecular velocity distribution function.Their convergence is derived through mathematical treatment.The collision frequency is presented using various molecular models and the local equilibrium distribution function is obtained by Enskog expansion using the converged equation of the DSMC method.These two expressions agree with those used in the unified algorithm.Numerical validation of the converging consistency between these two approaches is illustrated by simulating the pressure driven Poiseuille flow in the slip transition flow regime and the two-dimensional and three-dimensional flows around a circular cylinder and spherical-cone reentry body covering the whole flow regimes from low speed micro-channel flow to high speed non-equilibrium aerothermodynamics. | LI Zhi Hui FANG Ming JIANG XinYu WU JunLin | 2013 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,2: | 10 |
| 3 | In vitro and in silico analysis of dual-function peptides derived from casein hydrolysate显示文摘There is no study on food-derived peptide with both anticoagulant and angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitory (ACEI) activities yet. In this work, the anticoagulant and ACEI activities of the casein hydrolysates released by pepsin digestion were evaluated for the first time to the best of our knowledge. Results indicated that the casein hydrolysate exhibited potent anticoagulant activity by prolonging the thrombin time (TT) and the activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT). Compared with control samples, at 10 mg/mL, the TT and APTT of casein hydrolysate were 186.0 % ± 6.6 % and 163.5 % ± 7.4 %, respectively. The casein hydrolysate also showed a strong ACEI activity with an IC50 value of 1.775 mg/mL. The components of the bioactive casein hydrolysate were analyzed by nanoscale liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (NanoLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS). Total of 115 peptides were identified, among which 34, 9, 55 and 17 peptides were derived from α_(s1-), α_(s2-), β-, and κ-casein, respectively. The results of PeptideRanker and PepSite 2 analysis showed that 6 peptides (FRQFYQL, NENLLRF, NPWDQVKR, PVVVPPFLQ, PVRGPFPIIV, and ARHPHPHLSF) have both ACEI and anticoagulant activities by binding to the active sites of ACE and thrombin. | 6 | Rabies virus co-localizes with early(Rab5) and late(Rab7) endosomal proteins in neuronal and SH-SY5Y cells显示文摘Rabies virus(RABV) is a highly neurotropic virus that follows clathrin-mediated endocytosis and p H-dependent pathway for trafficking and invasion into endothelial cells. Early(Rab5, EEA1) and late(Rab7, LAMP1) endosomal proteins play critical roles in endosomal sorting, maturity and targeting various molecular cargoes, but their precise functions in the early stage of RABV neuronal infection remain elusive. In this study, the relationship between enigmatic entry of RABV with these endosomal proteins into neuronal and SH-SY5 Y cells was investigated.Immunofluorescence, TCID_(50) titers, electron microscopy and western blotting were carried out to determine the molecular interaction of the nucleoprotein(N) of RABV with early or late endosomal proteins in these cell lines. The expression of N was also determined by down-regulating Rab5 and Rab7 in both cell lines through RNA interference. The results were indicative that N proficiently colocalized with Rab5/EEA1 and Rab7/LAMP1 in both cell lines at 24 and 48 h post-infection, while N titers significantly decreased in early infection of RABV. Down-regulation of Rab5 and Rab7 did not inhibit N expression, but it prevented productive infection via blocking the normal trafficking of RABV in a low pH environment. Ultrathin sections of cells studied by electron microscope also verified the close association of RABV with Rab5 and Rab7 in neurons. | 7 | Kernel position effects of grain morphological characteristics by X-ray micro-computed tomography (μCT)显示文摘Grain size and shape are important factors for yield and quality.The difference in grain phenotypic characteristics in the same maize hybrid is related to its position in the ear.This study aimed to clarify the distribution characteristics of grain morphological characteristics in the ear and to provide guidance for research of grain phenotype and kernel position effects.Three maize hybrids were used in the experiment,namely,Denghai 618(DH618),KX3564,and Xianyu 335(XY335),and the kernel number per row were 40,40,and 36,respectively.The X-rayμCT was applied to obtain five kernel morphological indicators,including grain length,width,thickness,volume,surface area.Grain sphericity,length-width ratio,specific surface area,and volume coefficient were further calculated.The results showed that there were three types of maize ear morphological indicators trends:grain length,width,volume,and surface area were parabolic;thickness and sphericity were inverted parabolic;length-to-width ratio and specific surface area were irregular.The volume coefficient of grain at different parts of the ear,namely the relation coefficient between grain volume and grain length,width,and thickness,was determined.The average value of the middle grains morphological indicators of the ear was taken to select kernels representing stable characteristics of the variety.Within the range of 5%deviation from the morphological mean value of the middle grains of the ear,the grains in the middle part accounted for 26.39%of the total ear,about 10 grains extending from the 14th grain at the base of the ear to the top.Within the range of 10%deviation,the middle accounted for 47.22%,about 18 grains extending from the 12th grain at the base of the ear to the top.This study found that grain morphological indicators were greatly different at different positions of the maize ear,and showed different change rules as extend from the base to the top of the ear.Therefore,there were different grain volume coefficients at different positions of maize ear.And the representative sampling range on maize ear was determined based on the comprehensive analysis of different morphological indexes variation of grain. | Xuebo Yin Junfeng Hou Bo Ming Ying Zhang Xinyu Guo Shang Gao Keru Wang Peng Hou Shaokun Li Ruizhi Xie | 2021 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,2: | 2 |

| 9 | Phenotypic changes in the metabolic profile and adiponectin activity during seasonal fattening and hibernation in female Daurian ground squirrels(Spermophilus dauricus)显示文摘Seasonal hibernation has provided an opportunity to study animals’phenotypic plasticity in adaptation to changing environment.In the present study focusing on the female Daurian ground squirrel(Spermophilus dauricus)-a well demonstrated seasonal hibernator-we examined their behavioral,morphological,and metabolic changes during fattening,hibernation,and emergence.Our data indicated high levels of food intake,fat deposition,and body mass increases during fattening compared to hibernation.The levels of serum glucose and triglycerides were also higher during fattening than during hibernation and emergence.Interestingly,although squirrels showed signs of obesity and elevated triglycerides in serum during fattening,triglyceride levels in the liver and skeletal muscles remained unchanged.Our data also indicated that adiponectin levels in serum and cerebrospinal fluid were different between fattening and hibernation.Levels of adiponectin receptor 1 in the skeletal muscle remained low during fattening but peaked in late hibernation.In contrast,adiponectin receptor 2 in the liver showed a steady increase during fattening,which was followed by a significant decrease at early hibernation.Our data indicate that adiponectin may play an important role in preventing heterotopic fat accumulation in a receptor-and organ-specific manner,as well as in facilitating the switch from glucose metabolism to lipid metabolism during fattening and hibernation in female Daurian ground squirrels. | Yue REN Shiyi SONG Xinyu LIU Ming YANG | 2022 | Integrative Zoology2022,17,2: | 2 |

| 12 | The cloning and preliminarily functional analysis of the human neurotrimin gene显示文摘Proteins of the immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF) are involved in a variety of spe- cific cell-cell interactions in the developing nervous system. To identify and characterize new members of this protein family in human nervous system, we screen the human fetal brain cDNA library and isolate a full-length cDNA clone which contains a 1032 bp open reading frame en- coding a protein of 344 amino acids. Sequence analysis reveals that it is a glycoprotein com- prised of three C2-1ike immunoglobulin domains and is anchored to the plasma membrane via a post-translationally attached glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol (GPI) moiety. The protein shows high sequence similarity to the rat Ntm (97%), so we term it human neurotrimin (NTM). Northern blot analysis reveals that (HUMAN)NTM has three different transcripts with the length of 3.2 kb, 4.0 kb and 9.0 kb respectively. It has a wider expression pattern than that of (RAT) Ntm. Notably, the expression of NTM in fetal brain is higher than that in mature brain and is stronger in nervous tumors than that in normal brain tissues. We insert an HA epitope tag between the third Ig-like domain of NTM and the site of GPI attachment, then construct it into the eukaryotic expression vector pcDNA3.1+/Zeocin. The pcDNA3.1-HA-NTM is transfected into the Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells. | 19 | Self-sustainable and recyclable ternary Au@Cu2O–Ag nanocomposites:application in ultrasensitive SERS detection and highly efficient photocatalysis of organic dyes under visible light显示文摘Ternary noble metal–semiconductor nanocomposites(NCs)with core–shell–satellite nanostructures have received widespread attention due to their outstanding performance in detecting pollutants through surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)and photodegradation of organic pollutants.In this work,ternary Au@Cu2O–Ag NCs were designed and prepared by a galvanic replacement method.The effect of different amounts of Ag nanocrystals adsorbed on the surfaces of Au@Cu2O on the SERS activity was investigated based on the SERS detection of 4-mercaptobenzoic acid(4-MBA)reporter molecules.Based on electromagnetic field simulations and photoluminescence(PL)results,a possible SERS enhancement mechanism was proposed and discussed.Moreover,Au@Cu2O–Ag NCs served as SERS substrates,and highly sensitive SERS detection of malachite green(MG)with a detection limit as low as 10−9 M was achieved.In addition,Au@Cu2O–Ag NCs were recycled due to their superior self-cleaning ability and could catalyze the degradation of MG driven by visible light.This work demonstrates a wide range of possibilities for the integration of recyclable SERS detection and photodegradation of organic dyes and promotes the development of green testing techniques. | Tong Wu Hui Zheng Yichuan Kou Xinyue Su Naveen Reddy Kadasala Ming Gao Lei Chen Donglai Han Yang Liu Jinghai Yang | 2021 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2021,7,2: | 1 |
| 20 | Alpha-tubulin deacetylase as a potential and novel target for the prevention of Parkinson's disease progression显示文摘Parkinson's disease(PD)is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder and is characterized by its progressive course.The current therapies are aimed at alleviating symptoms by rescuing the unbalanced physiological dopamine metabolism and recovery of damaged neuronal circuits.However,these strategies result in insufficient clinical benefits for many patients and fail to halt disease progression.Therefore,new therapeutic targets could serve as the gateway against PD degeneration.One pathological hallmark of PD is the formation of intracytoplasmic protein inclusions or Lewy bodies,in neurons.Recent studies have suggested that Lewy bodies are formed similarly to aggresomes,and results have supported the concept that the novel cellular organelle,the aggresome,is a cytoprotective response that sequesters and facilitates clearance of potentially toxic protein aggregates.In addition,α-tubulin deacetylase has been shown to regulate aggresome formation and rescue neural cell viability in response to misfolded protein.Therefore,the regulation of aggresome formation to trigger cellular self-protection system could arrest PD progression.The present study discusses research progress related to Lewy bodies,aggresomes,and histone deacetylases,with an emphasis on histone deacetylase 6 and sirtuin type 2. | Guoyi Li Ming Chang Huiyi Jiang Hongrong Xie Xinyu Hu Linsen Hu | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,2: | 0 |
