Feature Selection for Multi-label Classification Using Neighborhood Preservation显示文摘Multi-label learning deals with data associated with a set of labels simultaneously. Dimensionality reduction is an important but challenging task in multi-label learning. Feature selection is an efficient technique for dimensionality reduction to search an optimal feature subset preserving the most relevant information. In this paper, we propose an effective feature evaluation criterion for multi-label feature selection, called neighborhood relationship preserving score. This criterion is inspired by similarity preservation, which is widely used in single-label feature selection. It evaluates each feature subset by measuring its capability in preserving neighborhood relationship among samples. Unlike similarity preservation, we address the order of sample similarities which can well express the neighborhood relationship among samples, not just the pairwise sample similarity. With this criterion, we also design one ranking algorithm and one greedy algorithm for feature selection problem. The proposed algorithms are validated in six publicly available data sets from machine learning repository. Experimental results demonstrate their superiorities over the compared state-of-the-art methods. | Zhiling Cai William Zhu | 2018 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2018,5,1: | 7
Boron doped graphdiyne:A metal-free peroxidase mimetic nanozyme for antibacterial application显示文摘The abuse of conventional antibiotics leads to increasing bacterial resistance.Nanozyme is a new kind of ultra-efficient and safe nanomaterial with intrinsic enzyme-like activities, showing remarkable potential as a next generation nanobactericide.Graphdiyne(GDY)is a burgeoning two-dimensional(2D)carbon allotrope with intriguing physicochemical properties, holding a great promise as a metal-free nanozyme. In this study,a boron doped GDY nanosheet(B-GDY)was constructed to simulate the performance of peroxidase(POD).By promoting the decomposition of H_(2)O_(2) to produce reactive oxygen species(ROS),the bactericidal efficacies against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria were substantially enhanced attributed to the extremely high catalytic activity of B-GDY.In-depth density functional theory(DFT)calculations illuminate that doping of boron can introduce more active B-defect sites as well as lower Gibbs free energy during the H_(2)O_(2) decomposition reaction.Notably,B-GDY contributes to significant wound healing and excellent biocompatibility, reducing the biological burden. The design of this nanozyme opens a new avenue for the development of alternative antibiotics. | Xuelong Bi Qiang Bai Lina Wang Fanglin Du Manhong Liu William W.Yu Siheng Li Jiaqiang Li Zhiling Zhu Ning Sui Jin Zhang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,2: | 2

Young Yum pill inhibits inflammatory mediators and nuclear factor-kappa B signaling in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Young Yum pill (YYP) on inflammatory mediators in cultured RAW 264.7 cells and elucidate the nuclear factor- kappa B (NF-κB)-related mechanism behind the action. METHODS: YYP was extracted with 95% ethanol Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages were used to evaluate the effect of YYP on inflammatory mediators. Production of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) were measured by Griess test and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, respectively. The levels of genes and proteins involved in the generation of inflammatory mediators were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting, respectively. RESULTS: YYP dose-dependently suppressed LPS-induced production of NO, PGE2 and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), and elevation of mRNA and protein levels of inducible NO synthase and cyclooxygenase- 2 in RAW 264.7 macrophages. These observations were associated with decreased NF-κB p65 phosphorylation and nuclear localization, enhanced Akt (protein kinase B) phosphorylation, as well as reduced inhibitor of κB (IκB)α degradation and IκB kinase α/β phosphorylation. CONCLUSION: The present study demonstrated an inhibitory effect of YYP on the NF-κB-regulated inflammatory mediators NO, PGE2 and TNF-α in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages, providing a pharmacological basis for the use of YYP in treating inflammatory disorders. | Yin Chengle Muhammad Jahangir Hossen Anfernee Kai-Wing Tse Su Tao Fu Xiuqiong Li Ting Guo Hui Zhu Peili Li Junkui Chou Jiyao Wang Yaping Yu Zhiling | 2019 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,5: | 2

Broadband impedance modulation via non-local acoustic metamaterials显示文摘Causality of linear time-invariant systems inherently defines the wave-matter interaction process in wave physics. This principle imposes strict constraints on the interfacial response of materials on various physical platforms.A typical consequence is that a delicate balance has to be struck between the conflicting bandwidth and geometric thickness when constructing a medium with desired impedance, which makes it challenging to realize broadband impedance modulation with compact structures. In pursuit of improvement, the over-damped recipe and the reduced excessive response recipe are creatively presented in this work.As a proof-of-concept demonstration,we construct a metamaterial with intensive mode density that supports strong non-locality over a frequency band from 320 Hz to 6400 Hz.Under the guidelines of the over-damped recipe and the reduced excessive response recipe, the metamaterial realizes impedance matching to air and exhibits broadband near-perfect absorption without evident impedance oscillation and absorption dips in the working frequency band.We further present a dual-functional design capable of frequency-selective absorption and reflection by concentrating the resonance modes in three frequency bands. Our research reveals the significance of over-damped recipe and the strong non-local effect in broadband impedance modulation, which may open up avenues for constructing efficient artificial impedance boundaries for energy absorption and other wave manipulation. | Zhiling Zhou Sibo Huang Dongting Li Jie Zhu Yong Li | 2022 | National Science Review2022,9,8: | 1

The effect of glutathione on glucosinolate biosynthesis through the sulfur assimilation pathway in pakchoi associated with the growth conditions显示文摘Glucosinolates(GSLs) are a group of nitrogen-and sulfur-containing secondary metabolites, synthesized primarily in members of the Brassicaceae family, that play an important role in food flavor, plant antimicrobial activity, resistance to insect attack, stress tolerance, and human anti-cancer effects. As a sulfur-containing compound, glutathione has a strong connection with GSLs biosynthesis as a sulfur donor or redox system, and exists in reduced(glutathione;GSH) and oxidized(glutathione disulfide;GSSG) forms. However, the mechanism of GSH regulating GSLs biosynthesis remainds unclear. Hence, the exogenous therapy to pakchoi under normal growth condition and sulfur deficiency condition were conducted in this work to explore the relevant mechanism. The results showed that exogenous application of buthionine sulfoximine, an inhibitor of GSH synthesis, decreased the transcript levels of GSLs synthesis-related genes and transcription factors, as well as sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal growth condition. Application of exogenous GSH inhibited the expression of GSLs synthesis-and sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal condition, while the GSLs biosynthesis and the sulfur assimilation pathway were activated by exogenous application of GSH when the content of GSH in vivo of plants decreased owing to sulfur deficiency. Moreover, exogenous application of GSSG increased the transcript levels of GSLs synthesis-and sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal growth condition and under sulfur deficiency. The present work provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms of GSLs biosynthesis underlying glutathione regulation. | Biao Zhu Zhile Liang Dan Wang Chaochao He Zhujun Zhu Jing Yang | 2024 | Horticultural Plant Journal2024,10,2: | 0

Transfer Behavior of Carbendazim from Dried Yingshan Yunwu Tea Leaves into Tea Infusions显示文摘Tea infusion is the main route of human exposure to pollutants in tea,and it is vital to investigate the transfer rate of pollutants from tea leaves to infusion.Carbendazim is a commonly used systemic fungicide, the transfer behavior of which in Yingshan Yunwu tea is not clear.Hence, this study firstly established the analytical method for determination of carbendazim with great accuracy and precision via modified QuEChERS method and ultra-performance liquid chromatography-fluorescence detection(UPLC-FLD).Then,the transfer behavior of carbendazim from tea leaves and infusion was systematically investigated. Results indicated that water temperature and proportion of tea to water ration would obviously increase the transfer rate of carbendazim, but times of infusion repetition showed negative correlation with the transfer rate of carbendazim. In addition, brewing time seemed to have lesser impact on the transfer rate. This study will be helpful for the risk assessment of carbendazim residue and provide the guidance for tea brewing. | Xinyu LIU Yuchao TIAN Haijian LIU Qingling ZHU Nan LUO Zhiling HU Chang LIU | 2023 | Agricultural Biotechnology2023,12,5: | 0
Effects of Househould Cleaning Methods on Carbendazim Residue in Apples显示文摘Carbendazim, belonging to fungicides, was commonly used for controlling crop diseases, resulting in frequent residues in fruits and vegetables.Washing was the initial step of household fruit processing for cleaning and reducing pollutant contents. However, the effect of washing on the removal of carbendazim in apples was not systemically studied. Thus,in this study,an analytical method was firstly established for the determination of carbendazim with great accuracy and precision through quick, simple, cheap, effective and safe(QuEChERS)method and ultra-performance liquid chromatography-fluorescence detection(UPLC-FLD).Then,the influencing factors were systematically researched to unveil their effects on the carbendazim residue in apples. The results indicated that water temperature, washing products and washing method could obviously affect the carbendazim content in apples. In addition, the best cleaning scheme for removal of carbendazim was soaking apples for 5 min in a cleaning solution, which was prepared by dissolving 8 g of commercial fruit washing soup with 500 ml of water at 45℃.Under this condition, the removal rate of carbendazim in the washing step reached 73.91%.This study will be helpful for providing guidance for household cleaning methods for controlling pesticide residues. | Zhiling HU Yuchao TIAN Qingling ZHU Haijian LIU Nan LUO Fan WANG Ziyi ZHANG Furong LIU Chang LIU Mengrong CHENG | 2023 | Agricultural Biotechnology2023,12,6: | 0
Diversity of glucosinolates among common Brassicaceae vegetables in China显示文摘Brassicaceae vegetables are an important traditional daily food in China and around the world, which provide nutrients and phytochemicals that are beneficial for human health. Among them, Brassica and Raphanus are widely cultivated and eaten, have been evolved and/or bred for special characteristics during the long history of cultivation. Epidemiological studies suggest that the health benefits of Brassicaceae vegetables are mainly associated with glucosinolates(GSLs) and their hydrolytic products. In this review, we discuss the diversity of common consumed Brassicaceae vegetables and their GSL composition in edible parts. We also discuss the diversity factors affecting GSL content, and the diversity roles and functions of GSL. The information in this review provides guidance for consumers to select vegetables with a high GSL content, optimum edible stages, suitable edible methods, and provides a theoretical basis for crop molecular breeding and market development of GSL products. | Biao Zhu Zhile Liang Yunxiang Zang Zhujun Zhu Jing Yang | 2023 | Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,3: | 0
Meta-silencer with designable timbre显示文摘Timbre,as one of the essential elements of sound, plays an important role in determining sound properties, whereas its manipulation has been remaining challenging for passive mechanical systems due to the intrinsic dispersion nature of resonances. Here,we present a meta-silencer supporting intensive mode density as well as highly tunable intrinsic loss and offering a fresh pathway for designable timbre in broadband.Strong global coupling is induced by intensive mode density and delicately modulated with the guidance of the theoretical model, which efficiently suppresses the resonance dispersion and provides desirable frequency-selective wave-manipulation capacity for timbre tuning. As proof-of-concept demonstrations for our design concepts,we propose three meta-silencers with the designing targets of high-efficiency broadband sound attenuation,efficiency-controlled sound attenuation and designable timbre, respectively. The proposed meta-silencers all operate in a broadband frequency range from 500 to 3200 Hz and feature deep-subwavelength sizes around 50 mm.Our work opens up a fundamental avenue to manipulate the timbre with passive resonances-controlled acoustic metamaterials and may inspire the development of novel multifunctional devices in noise-control engineering, impedance engineering, and architectural acoustics. | Nengyin Wang Chengcheng Zhou Sheng Qiu Sibo Huang Bin Jia Shanshan Liu Junmei Cao Zhiling Zhou Hua Ding Jie Zhu Yong Li | 2023 | International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2023,5,2: | 0
CHCHD2 Thr61Ile mutation impairs F1F0-ATPase assembly in in vitro and in vivo models of Parkinson's disease显示文摘Mitochondrial dysfunction is a significant pathological alte ration that occurs in Parkinson's disease(PD),and the Thr61lle(T61I)mutation in coiled-coil helix coiled-coil helix domain containing 2(CHCHD2),a crucial mitochondrial protein, has been reported to cause Parkinson's disease.FIFO-ATPase participates in the synthesis of cellular adenosine triphosphate(ATP)and plays a central role in mitochondrial energy metabolism. However, the specific roles of wild-type(WT)CHCHD2 and T611-mutant CHCHD2 in regulating F1FO-ATPase activity in Parkinson's disease,as well as whether CHCHD2 or CHCHD2 T61I affects mitochondrial function through regulating F1FO-ATPase activity, remain unclea r.Therefore,in this study,we expressed WT CHCHD2 and T61l-mutant CHCHD2 in an MPP^(+)-induced SH-SY5Y cell model of PD.We found that CHCHD2 protected mitochondria from developing MPP^(+)-induced dysfunction.Under normal conditions, ove rexpression of WT CHCHD2 promoted F1FO-ATPase assembly, while T61I-mutant CHCHD2 appeared to have lost the ability to regulate F1FO-ATPase assembly. In addition, mass spectrometry and immunoprecipitation showed that there was an interaction between CHCHD2 and F1FO-ATPase.Three weeks after transfection with AAV-CHCHD2 T61I,we intraperitoneally injected 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine into mice to establish an animal model of chronic Parkinson's disease and found that exogenous expression of the mutant protein worsened the behavioral deficits and dopaminergic neurodegeneration seen in this model. These findings suggest that WT CHCHD2 can alleviate mitochondrial dysfunction in PD by maintaining F1F0-ATPase structure and function. | Xiang Chen Yuwan Lin Zhiling Zhang Yuting Tang Panghai Ye Wei Dai Wenlong Zhang Hanqun Liu Guoyou Peng Shuxuan Huang Jiewen Qiu Wenyuan Guo Xiaoqin Zhu Zhuohua Wu Yaoyun Kuang Pingyi Xu Miaomiao Zhou | 2024 | Neural Regeneration Research2024,19,1: | 0
