The FGOALS climate system model as a modeling tool for supporting climate sciences:An overview显示文摘Climate system models are useful tools for understanding the interactions among the components of the climate system and predicting/projecting future climate change. The development of climate models has been a central focus of the State Key Laboratory of Numerical Modeling for Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences(LASG/IAP) since the establishment of the laboratory in 1985. In China, many pioneering component models and fully coupled models of the climate system have been developed by LASG/IAP. The fully coupled climate system developed in the recent decade is named FGOALS(Flexible Global Ocean-Atmosphere-Land System Model). In this paper, an application-oriented review of the LASG/IAP FGOALS model is presented. The improved model performances are demonstrated in the context of cloud-radiation processes, Asian monsoon, ENSO phenomena, Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation(AMOC) and sea ice. The FGOALS model has contributed to both CMIP5(Coupled Model Intercomparison Project-phase 5) and IPCC(Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) AR5(the Fifth Assessment Report). The release of FGOALS data has supported the publication of nearly 500 papers around the world. The results of FGOALS are cited ~106 times in the IPCC WG1(Working Group 1) AR5. In addition to the traditional long-term simulations and projections, near-term decadal climate prediction is a new set of CMIP experiment, progress of LAGS/IAP in the development of nearterm decadal prediction system is reviewed. The FGOALS model has supported many Chinese national-level research projects and contributed to the national climate change assessment report. The crucial role of FGOALS as a modeling tool for supporting climate sciences is highlighted by demonstrating the model's performances in the simulation of the evolution of Earth's climate from the past to the future. | TianJun Zhou Bin Wang YongQiang Yu YiMin Liu WeiPeng Zheng LiJuan Li Bo Wu PengFei Lin Zhun Guo WenMin Man Qing Bao AnMin Duan HaiLong Liu XiaoLong Chen Bian He JianDong Li LiWei Zou XiaoCong Wang LiXia Zhang Yong Sun WenXia Zhang | 2018 | Earth and Planetary Physics2018,2,4: | 6
Long-term change in low-cloud cover in Southeast China during cold seasons显示文摘中国东南地区在冬春冷季节盛行低云,对局地能量平衡和水文循环有重要的作用. | Zhe Chen Minghuai Wang Haipeng Zhang Shuheng Lin Zhun Guo Yiquan Jiang Chen Zhou | 2022 | Atmospheric and Oceanic Science Letters2022,15,6: | 1

Evaluation on Potential Ecological Risk of Heavy Metals in Soil from Penglai Fairyland Park显示文摘This study aims at evaluating the heavy metals pollution in soil collected from Penglai Fairyland Park in Guiyang, and predicting the harm of heavy metals to human health. Based on the background value of soil in Guizhou and Soil Environment Quality Standard( GB15618-1995),by using the geoaccumulation index method and Hakanson potential ecological risk assessment method,we research pollution characteristics and ecological risk of heavy metals in soil from the study area. The results show that from the index of geoaccumulation, the pollution level of heavy metals in agricultural soil from Penglai Fairyland Park is in the order of Ni > Cu > Hg > Cd > As > Zn > Cr > Pb. From the potential ecological harm index evaluation, soil is at slight ecological risk level in the park and the potential ecological hazard degree is in the order of Hg > Cd > Ni > As > Cu > Cr > Pb > Zn. The soil ecological environment in research area is only mildly damaged. Thus, the soil in research area is at the level of security, and it is suitable for cultivation of crops and less harmful to human health. | Zhen YANG Di WU Zhun XIANG Chao KANG Fang WANG Zhu HUANG Lin ZHANG | 2016 | Asian Agricultural Research2016,8,6: | 0

Application of microfluidic technologies on COVID-19 diagnosis and drug discovery显示文摘The ongoing coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic has boosted the development of antiviral research.Microfluidic technologies offer powerful platforms for diagnosis and drug discovery for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2) diagnosis and drug discovery. In this review,we introduce the structure of SARS-CoV-2 and the basic knowledge of microfluidic design. We discuss the application of microfluidic devices in SARS-CoV-2 diagnosis based on detecting viral nucleic acid, antibodies, and antigens. We highlight the contribution of lab-on-a-chip to manufacturing point-ofcare equipment of accurate,sensitive,low-cost,and user-friendly virus-detection devices. We then investigate the efforts in organ-on-a-chip and lipid nanoparticles(LNPs) synthesizing chips in antiviral drug screening and mRNA vaccine preparation.Microfluidic technologies contribute to the ongoing SARSCoV-2 research efforts and provide tools for future viral outbreaks. | Zhun Lin Zhengyu Zou Zhe Pu Minhao Wu Yuanqing Zhang | 2023 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,7: | 0
Monkeypox awareness, knowledge, and attitude among undergraduate preclinical and clinical students at a Malaysian dental school:An emerging outbreak during the COVID-19 era显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the awareness, knowledge, and attitude on monkeypox viral infection among preclinical and clinical dental students in Malaysia. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted among 229 preclinical and clinical dental students via an online self-reported questionnaire. The questionnaire included 3 items on awareness,15 items on knowledge,9 items on attitude and 2 open-ended questions.Data were presented as frequencies and percentages.Chi-square test was used to compare knowledge and awareness scores between preclinical and clinical dental students and content analysis was performed for open-ended responses. Results:Preclinical and clinical dental students were aware of the existence of monkeypox(89.5%and 94.4%,respectively),that the disease emerged in non-endemic countries(81.0%and 87.1%,respectively)and that it was declared a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organization(73.3%and 79.0%,respectively).Clinical dental students’overall knowledge level was significantly higher than preclinical dental students(P=0.014).Both preclinical(95.2%)and clinical(96.8%)dental students demonstrated positive attitudes toward monkeypox with no significant difference(P=0.736)noted between them.Three themes emerged from the open-ended questions:(1)reimplementation of nationwide lockdown,(2)impact on the economy and health,and(3)disruption to the educational system.Students also anticipated their face-to-face learning to be reduced should there be a new outbreak. Conclusions:Both preclinical and clinical dental students showed comparable awareness and attitudes, while the latter demonstrated greater satisfactory knowledge toward the re-emergence of monkeypox during the COVID-19 pandemic.Nonetheless, efforts to improve dental students’understanding of this alarming outbreak are required,to safeguard their health and minimise transmission. | Galvin Sim Siang Lin Wen Wu Tan Daryl Zhun Kit Chan Kai Shen Ooi Hasnah Hashim | 2022 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2022,15,10: | 0
Pharmaceutical applications of framework nucleic acids显示文摘DNA is a biological polymer that encodes and stores genetic information in all living organism. Particularly, the precise nucleobase pairing inside DNA is exploited for the self-assembling of nanostructures with defined size, shape and functionality. These DNA nanostructures are known as framework nucleic acids(FNAs) for their skeleton-like features. Recently, FNAs have been explored in various fields ranging from physics, chemistry to biology. In this review, we mainly focus on the recent progress of FNAs in a pharmaceutical perspective. We summarize the advantages and applications of FNAs for drug discovery, drug delivery and drug analysis. We further discuss the drawbacks of FNAs and provide an outlook on the pharmaceutical research direction of FNAs in the future. | Liang Chen Jie Zhang Zhun Lin Ziyan Zhang Miao Mao Jiacheng Wu Qian Li Yuanqing Zhang Chunhai Fan | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,1: | 0
