2Trends in Lipids Level and Dyslipidemia among Chinese Adults, 2002-2015显示文摘Objective To investigate the trends of lipid profiles and dyslipidemia among Chinese adults from 2002 to 2015.Methods Data were collected from three nationally representative cross-sectional surveys.Fasting venous blood samples were collected and serum lipids were tested by biochemical analysis and enzymatic determination.Lipid levels and the prevalence of dyslipidemia among adults were analyzed with complex sampling weighting adjustment for age and gender.Results The weighted means of TC, TG, and LDL-c significantly increased linearly from 3.93, 1.12, and 2.12 mmol/L in 2002 to 4.59, 1.41, and 2.78 mmol/L in 2010 and then to 4.63, 1.47, and 2.87 mmol/L in 2015, respectively;by contrast, HDL-c levels decreased significantly from 1.30 mmol/L to 1.26 mmol/L over the same period.Similar trends in mean non-HDL-c and lipid-related ratios were observed.The weighted dyslipidemia prevalence linearly increased;in particular, hypercholesterolemia increased from 1.6% to 5.6% and then to 5.8%, hypertriglyceridemia increased from 5.7% to 13.6% and then to 15.0%, low HDL-c increased from 18.8% to 35.5% and then to 24.9%, and high LDL-c increased from 1.3% to 5.6% and then to 7.2%(P for trend <0.001).Conclusion Dyslipidemia increased among Chinese adults from 2002 to 2015.Development of a comprehensive strategy to decrease lipid levels in this population is urgently required.SONG Peng Kun MAN Qing Qing LI Hong PANG Shao Jie JIA Shan Shan LI Yu Qian HE Li ZHAO Wen Hua ZHANG Jian 2019Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2019,32,8:45

6Incidence and mortality rate of esophageal cancer has decreased during past 40 years in Hebei Province,China显示文摘Background:Hebei province is located in North of China with of approximately 6% of whole national population.It is known as a high-risk area for esophageal cancer in China and worldwide.The aim of our study was to estimate the esophageal cancer burden and trend in Hebei Province.Methods:Eight cancer registries in Hebei Province submitted cancer registry data to the Hebei Provincial Cancer Registry Center.All data were qualified and compiled for cancer statistics in 2011.The pooled data were stratified by gender and age group(0,1-4,5-9,10-14…80+).Incidence and mortality rates were age-standardized to World Segi's population standard and expressed per 100,000 persons.In addition,proportions and cumulative incidence/mortality rates for esophageal cancer were calculated.Esophageal cancer mortality data during the periods 1973-1975,1990-1992,and 2004-2005 were extracted from the national death surveys.Mortality and incidence rate data from Cixian and Shexian were obtained from population-based cancer registries in each county.Results:The estimated number of newly diagnosed esophageal cancer cases and deaths in 2011 in Hebei Province was 24,318 and 18,226,respectively.The crude incidence rate of esophageal cancer was 33.37/100,000(males,42.18/100,000 and females,24.31/100,000).The age-standardized rate by world standard population(ASRW) was 28.09/100,000,ranking third among all cancers.The esophageal cancer mortality rate was 25.01/100,000(males,31.40/100,000 and females,18.45/100,000),ranking third in deaths among all cancers.The mortality rates of esophageal cancer displayed a significant decreasing trend in Hebei Province from 1973-1975(ASRW =48.69/100,000) to 2004-2005(ASRW =28.02/100,000),with a decreased rate of 42.45%.In Cixian,the incidence of esophageal cancer decreased from 250.76/100,000 to 106.74/100,000 in males and from 153.86/100,000 to 75.41/100,000 in females,with annual percentage changes(APC) of 2.13 and 2.16,while the mortality rates declined with an APC of 2.46 for males and 3.10 for females from 1988 to 2011.In Shexian,the incidence rate decreased from 116.90/100,000 to 74.12/100,000 in males and from 46.98/100,000 to 40.64/100,000 in females,while the mortality rates declined,with an APC of 4.89 in males from 2003 to 2011.Conclusions:Although the incidence and mortality rates of esophageal cancer remain high,an obvious decreasing trend has been observed in Hebei Province,as well as in high-risk regions,such as Cixian and Shexian,over the past 40 years.Yutong He Yan Wu Guohui Song Yongwei Li Di Liang Jing Jin Denggui Wen Baoen Shan 2015Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,6:22
7Investigation of a novel self-sealing pore micro-arc oxidation film on AM60 magnesium alloy显示文摘Micro-arc oxidation(MAO)is one of the promising methods to improve the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys.However,there are plenty of micro-pores in the traditional MAO films,deteriorating their protection property.A novel self-sealing pore MAO film was developed in this paper.The morphologies and chemical composition of the film were detected by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX).The corrosion behavior was investigated by electrochemical and salt spray tests.The possible film formation and corrosion mechanisms were proposed.The self-sealing pore film presents a blue appearance.Most of the micro-pores in the surface of the film are sealed during the film formation process.The chemical composition of the film mainly contains Mg,O,Ti,F and P.The self-sealing pore film exhibits better corrosion resistance compared with the traditional silicate film.Especially,the self-sealing pore film keeps intact after salt spray test for 2000 h,which can be attributed to its high compactness.Yingwei Song Kaihui Dong Dayong Shan En-Hou Han 2013Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2013,1,1:23

10Deep Structural Framework and Genetic Analysis of Gold Concentration Areas in the Northwestern Jiaodong Peninsula, China: A New Understanding based on High-Resolution Reflective Seismic Survey显示文摘The gold concentration areas in the northwestern Jiaodong Peninsula constituted an important gold metallogenetic region in Eastern China during the Mesozoic. The deep geological bodies' texture characteristic is important for exploring the resources thoroughly and understanding the metallogenic process. The detailed textures were revealed using high-resolution seismic profiles through the three major ore-controlling structures-Sanshandao fault zone, Jiaojia fault zone and Zhaoping fault zone. This study aims to establish a deep structural framework of this area. Based on their formation mechanism, the fault structures developed in the area can be divided into regional and local fault structures. The structural styles are characterised by superimposing their compressional, strike-slip and extensional multi-stage activities. The crust is cut by vertical structures corresponding to a left-lateral strike-slip fault system on the surface. Nearby these structures are the arc-shape structures formed by multi-stage magma intrusions into the upper crust. Bounded by the Tancheng–Lujiang and Muping–Jimo fault zones, the current Jiaodong block, developed a series of NE-trending strike-slip fault systems, was probably formed by the assemblage of several obliquely aligned blocks. The intensive magmatism and hydrothermal activity between the blocks induced large-scale mineralisation. 13A nowcasting model for the prediction of typhoon tracks based on a long short term memory neural network显示文摘It is of vital importance to reduce injuries and economic losses by accurate forecasts of typhoon tracks. A huge amount of typhoon observations have been accumulated by the meteorological department, however, they are yet to be adequately utilized. It is an effective method to employ machine learning to perform forecasts. A long short term memory(LSTM) neural network is trained based on the typhoon observations during 1949–2011 in China's Mainland, combined with big data and data mining technologies, and a forecast model based on machine learning for the prediction of typhoon tracks is developed. 14miRNAs and lncRNAs in vascular injury and remodeling显示文摘Vascular injury,remodeling,as well as angiogenesis,are the leading causes of coronary or cerebrovascular disease.The blood vessel functional imbalance trends to induce atherosclerosis,hypertension,and pulmonary arterial hypertension.As several genes have been identified to be dynamically regulated during vascular injury and remodeling,it is becoming widely accepted that several types of non-coding RNA,such as microRNAs(miRNAs)and long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs),are involved in regulating the endothelial cell and vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC)behaviors.Here,we review the progress of the extant studies on mechanistic,clinical and diagnostic implications of miRNAs and lncRNAs in vascular injury and remodeling,as well as angiogenesis,emphasizing the important roles of miRNAs and lncRNAs in vascular diseases.Furthermore,we introduce the interaction between miRNAs and lncRNAs,and highlight the mechanism through which lncRNAs are regulating the miRNA function.We envisage that continuous in-depth research of non-coding RNAs in vascular disease will have significant implications for the treatment of coronary or cerebrovascular diseases.SONG XiaoWei SHAN DongKai CHEN Jian JING Qing 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,8:17

16Small molecule inhibitors reveal allosteric regulation of USP14 via steric blockade显示文摘The ubiquitin system is important for drug discovery,and the discovery of selective small-molecule inhibitors of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) remains an active yet extremely challenging task. With a few exceptions,previously developed inhibitors have been found to bind the evolutionarily conserved catalytic centers of DUBs,resulting in poor selectivity. The small molecule IU1 was the first-ever specific inhibitor identified and exhibited surprisingly excellent selectivity for USP14 over other DUBs. However,the molecular mechanism for this selectivity was elusive. Herein,we report the high-resolution co-crystal structures of the catalytic domain of USP14 bound to IU1 and three IU1 derivatives. All the structures of these complexes indicate that IU1 and its analogs bind to a previously unknown steric binding site in USP14,thus blocking the access of the C-terminus of ubiquitin to the active site of USP14 and abrogating USP14 activity. Importantly,this steric site in USP14 is very unique,as suggested by structural alignments of USP14 with several known DUB X-ray structures. These results,in conjunction with biochemical characterization,Indicate a coherent steric blockade mechanism for U5P14 inhibition by compounds of the IU series. 17Co-seismic ground deformation and source parameters of Mani M7.9 earthquake inferred from spaceborne D-InSAR observation data显示文摘We obtain the co-seismic ground deformation field of the Mani M7.9 earthquake on November 8, 1997 through three-pass differential interferometric processing. Then we get the geometric and kinematics parameters of this event by the elastic half-space model and forward modeling with the InSAR data. The following results have been obtained: (i) The deformation fields on both sides of the seismogenic fault are affected by the co-seismic deformation field even in 110 km away from the fault. The loss of phase coherence belt caused by the zone of ground rupture crosses the image from east to west with a length of an area 110 km. (ii) The maximum horizontal displacement caused by the earthquake reaches 7.96 m. (iii) The earthquake fault can be divided into four parts, and the deformation field of the middle two parts is bigger than that of the other two, with lengths of 27 km and 37 km, respectively. And their average sliding values on the rupture surface are 6500 mm and 6000 mm, respectively, and their depths both are 35 km. The segment of 27 km length is the major rupture surface of this earthquake. The west part and the east part of the fault have lengths of 23 km and 26 km, respectively. The sliding value of the west one is 4000 mm and that of the east one is 5800 mm. 18Radiofrequency ablation for hepatic hemangiomas: A consensus from a Chinese panel of experts显示文摘Recent studies have shown that radiofrequency(RF) ablation therapy is a safe, feasible, and effective procedure for hepatic hemangiomas, even huge hepatic hemangiomas. RF ablation has the following advantages in the treatment of hepatic hemangiomas: minimal invasiveness, definite efficacy, high safety, fast recovery, relatively simple operation, and wide applicability. 20Effects of viral infection and microbial diversity on patients with sepsis:A retrospective study based on metagenomic next-generation sequencing显示文摘BACKGROUND: The study aims to investigate the performance of a metagenomic next-generationsequencing (NGS)-based diagnostic technique for the identifi cation of potential bacterial and viral infectionsand eff ects of concomitant viral infection on the survival rate of intensive care unit (ICU) sepsis patients.METHODS: A total of 74 ICU patients with sepsis who were admitted to our institution from February1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 were enrolled. Separate blood samples were collected from patients for bloodcultures and metagenomic NGS when the patients’ body temperature was higher than 38 °C. Patients’demographic data, including gender, age, ICU duration, ICU scores, and laboratory results, were recorded.The correlations between pathogen types and sepsis severity and survival rate were evaluated.RESULTS: NGS produced higher positive results (105 of 118;88.98%) than blood cultures(18 of 118;15.25%) over the whole study period. Concomitant viral infection correlated closelywith sepsis severity and had the negative effect on the survival of patients with sepsis. However,correlation analysis indicated that the bacterial variety did not correlate with the severity of sepsis.CONCLUSIONS: Concurrent viral load correlates closely with the severity of sepsis and thesurvival rate of the ICU sepsis patients.
