| 2 | Geochemistry and zircon U-Pb geochronology of the rhyolitic tuff on Port Island, Hong Kong: Implications for early Cretaceous tectonic setting显示文摘Early Cretaceous rhyolitic tuffs,widely distributed on Port Island,provide insights into the volcanism and tectonic setting of Hong Kong.In this paper we present petrological,geochronological and geochemical data of the rhyolitic tuff to constrain the diagenesis age and petrogenesis of the rocks,tectonic setting and early Cretaceous volcanism of Hong Kong.The first geochronological data show that the zircons in the volcanic rocks have U-Pb age of 141.1-139.5 Ma,which reveals that the rhyolitic tuff on Port Island was formed in the early Cretaceous(K_1).Geochemically,these acid rocks,which are enriched in large ion lithophile elements(LILEs) and light rare earth elements(LREEs),and depleted in high field strength elements(HFSEs),belong to the high K calc-alkaline to shoshonite series with strongly-peraluminous characteristic.The geochemical analyses suggest that the volcanic rocks were derived from deep melting in the continental crust caused by basaltic magma underplating.Based on the geochemical analysis and previous studies,we concluded that the rhyolitic tuffs on Port Island were formed in a backarc extension setting in response to the subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate beneath the Eurasian Plate. | Longlong Zhao Lulin Wang Mingzhong Tian Fadong Wu | 2017 | Geoscience Frontiers2017,8,3: | 4 |
| 3 | Acrolein Aggravates Secondary Brain Injury After Intracerebral Hemorrhage Through Drp1-Mediated Mitochondrial Oxidative Damage in Mice显示文摘Clinical advances in the treatment of intracranial hemorrhage(ICH)are restricted by the incomplete understanding of the molecular mechanisms contributing to secondary brain injury.Acrolein is a highly active unsaturated aldehyde which has been implicated in many nervous system diseases.Our results indicated a significant increase in the level of acrolein after ICH in mouse brain.In primary neurons,acrolein induced an increase in mitochondrial fragmentation,loss of mitochondrial membrane potential,generation of reactive oxidative species,and release of mitochondrial cytochrome c.Mechanistically,acrolein facilitated the translocation of dynaminrelated protein 1(Drpl)from the cytoplasm onto the mitochondrial membrane and led to excessive mitochondrial fission.Further studies found that treatment with hydralazine(an acrolein scavenger)significantly reversed Drpl translocation and the morphological damage of mitochondria after ICH.In parallel,the neural apoptosis,brain edema,and neurological functional deficits induced by ICH were also remarkably alleviated.In conclusion,our results identify acrolein as an important contributor to the secondary brain injury following ICH.Meanwhile,we uncovered a novel mechanism by which Drpl-mediated mitochondrial oxidative damage is involved in acroleininduced brain injury. | Xun Wu Wenxing Cui Wei Guo Haixiao Liu Jianing Luo Lei Zhao Hao Guo Longlong Zheng Hao Bai Dayun Feng Yan Qu | 2020 | Neuroscience Bulletin2020,36,10: | 3 |

| 6 | Drp1-dependent remodeling of mitochondrial morphology triggered by EBV-LMP1 increases cisplatin resistance显示文摘Latent membrane protein 1(LMP1)is a major Epstein–Barr virus(EBV)-encoded oncoprotein involved in latency infection that regulates mitochondrial functions to facilitate cell survival.Recently,mitochondrial fission has been demonstrated as a crucial mechanism in oncovirus-mediated carcinogenesis.Mitochondrial dynamin-related protein 1(Drp1)-mediated mitochondrial fission has an impact on the chemoresistance of cancers.However,the mechanism by which oncogenic stress promotes mitochondrial fission,potentially contributing to tumorigenesis,is not entirely understood.The role of Drp1 in the oncogenesis and prognosis of EBV-LMP1-positive nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)was determined in our study.We show that EBV-LMP1 exhibits a new function in remodeling mitochondrial morphology by activating Drp1.A high level of p-Drp1(Ser616)or a low level of p-Drp1(Ser637)correlates with poor overall survival and disease-free survival.Furthermore,the protein level of p-Drp1(Ser616)is related to the clinical stage(TNM stage)of NPC.Targeting Drp1 impairs mitochondrial function and induces cell death in LMP1-positive NPC cells.In addition,EBV-LMP1 regulates Drp1 through two oncogenic signaling axes,AMPK and cyclin B1/Cdk1,which promote cell survival and cisplatin resistance in NPC.Our findings provide novel insight into the role of EBV-LMP1-driven mitochondrial fission in regulating Drp1 phosphorylation at serine 616 and serine 637.Disruption of Drp1 could be a promising therapeutic strategy for LMP1-positive NPC. | Longlong Xie Feng Shi Yueshuo Li We Li Xinfang Yu Lin Zhao Min Zhou Jianmin Hu Xiangjian Luo Min Tang Jia Fan Jian Zhou Qiang Gao Weizhong Wu Xin Zhang Weihua Liao Ann MBode Ya Cao | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 1 |

| 11 | Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous volcanism of Hong Kong: Insights from the Ping Chau Formation显示文摘The vast expanse of Mesozoic igneous rocks in Hong Kong contain important geological records of late Mesozoic magmatic events and tectonic processes from the coastal region of Southeast China. Of these,the Ping Chau Formation in the northwestern New Territories is the youngest known stratum. We perform a detailed study of the volcanic rocks of the Ping Chau Formation utilizing zircon U-Pb dating,with major and trace elements geochemistry. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb data reveal Early Cretaceous age from two volcanic rock samples, with zircon crystallization from magmas at 140.3 ± 0.8 Ma and 139.3 ± 0.9 Ma,respectively. These rocks have high contents of total alkalis(Na_2O + K_2O = 5.58-9.45 wt.%), high-field-strength elements and light rare earth elements, conspicuous negative Eu anomalies, and depletions in Nb, Ta, Ti, Sr, Ba and P. Using this data, in combination with previous studies on the late Mesozoic volcanic belt in Southeast China, we propose that the volcanic rocks of the Ping Chau Formation probably originated from deep melting of the crust in a back-arc extensional setting induced by the subduction of the paleo-Pacific Plate. This formation represents the final stages of Early Cretaceous volcanic activity in Hong Kong, as associated with large-scale lithospheric extension, thinning and magmatism. | 13 | The Geological Significance of a Tuffite Interlayer in the Cretaceous Port Island Formation in Northeastern Hong Kong显示文摘The Port Island Formation(PIF), a typical Cretaceous red bed in Hong Kong, is dominated by non-fossiliferous, reddish clastic rocks, making it difficult to determine the sedimentary age of PIF precisely. Previous studies assigned the PIF to Late Cretaceous provisionally only on the basis of its stratigraphic sequence and lithology. This study identified a tuffite interlayer in the PIF and a zircon UPb age of 128.2±2.7 Ma by LA-ICP-MS method was obtained. It's the first time to date the depositional age of the PIF with a reliable chronological constraint. With the support of stratigraphic evidence, we concluded that the geological age of PIF should be Early Cretaceous rather than Late Cretaceous. Based on the volcanic history of Hong Kong and Southeast China and the distribution of the PIF in Mirs Bay, it is believed that there was no volcanic activity in Hong Kong in ca. 128 Ma. The tuffite interlayer discovered in PIF was formed by the deposition of volcanic ash, which might originate from remote region outside Hong Kong, in an aquatic environment on Port Island. | 14 | Electrostatic Structure of the Electron Phase-space Holes Generated by the Electron Two-stream Instability with a Finite Width显示文摘Space satellite observations in an electron phase-space hole(electron hole) have shown that bipolar structures are discovered at the parallel cut of parallel electric field, while unipolar structures spring from the parallel cut of perpendicular electric field. Particle-in-cell(PIC) simulations have demonstrated that the electron bi-stream instability induces several electron holes during its nonlinear evolution. However, how the unipolar structure of the parallel cut of the perpendicular electric field formed in these electron holes is still an unsolved problem,especially in a strongly magnetized plasma(Ω_e >ω_(pe), where Ω_e is defined as electron gyrofrequency and ω_(pe) is defined as plasma frequency, respectively). In this paper, with two-dimensional(2D) electrostatic PIC simulations, the evolution of the electron two-stream instability with a finite width in strongly magnetized plasma is investigated. Initially, those conditions lead to monochromatic electrostatic waves, and these waves coalesce with each other during their nonlinear evolution. At last, a solitary electrostatic structure is formed.
