2Zircon U-Pb geochronological framework of Qitianling granite batholith, middle part of Nanling Range, South China显示文摘The Qitianling granite batholith (QGB) is located in the southern Hunan Province, middle part of the Nanling Range, South China. Its total exposure area is about 520 km2. Based on our 25 single grain zircon U-Pb age data and 7 published data as well as the geological, petrological, and space distribution characteristics, we conclude that QGB is an Early Yanshanian (Jurassic) multi-staged composite pluton. Its formation process can be subdivided into three major stages. The first stage, emplaced at 163―160 Ma with a peak at about 161 Ma, is mainly composed of hornblende-biotite monzonitic granites and locally biotite granites, and distributed in the eastern, northern, and western peripheral parts of the pluton. The second stage, emplaced at 157―153 Ma with a peak at 157―156 Ma, is mainly composed of biotite granites and locally containing hornblende, and distributed in the middle and southeastern parts of the pluton. The third stage, emplaced at 150―146 Ma with a peak at about 149 Ma, is mainly composed of fine-grained (locally porphyritic) biotite granites, and distributed in the middle-southern part of the pluton. Each stage can be further disintegrated into several granite bodies. The first two intrusive stages comprise the major phase of QGB, and the third intrusive stage comprises the additional phase. Many second stage fine-grained granite bosses and dykes intruded into the first stage host granites with clear chilling margin-baking phenomena at their intrusive contacts. They were emplaced in the open fracture space of the earlier stage consolidated rocks. Their isotopic ages are mostly 2―6 Ma younger than their hosts. Conceivably, the time interval from magma emplacement, through cooling, crystallization, solidification, up to fracturing of the earlier stage granites cannot exceed 2―6 Ma. During the Middle-Late Jurassic in the Qitianling area and neighboring Nanling Range, the coeval granitic and basic-intermediate magmatic activities were widely developed. It indicates that the Early Yanshanian period was the culmination time of magmatic activities in this region. The Nanling Range was under a post-orogenic, intracontinental geotectonic environment with an obvious lithospheric extension and thinning. 5Stereotactic aspiration for hypertensive intracerebral haemorrhage in a Chinese population:a retrospective cohort study显示文摘Objective We aimed to compare the therapeutic effects of stereotactic aspiration and best medical management in patients who developed supratentorial hypertensive intracerebral haemorrhage(HICH)with a volume of haemorrhage between 20 and 40 mL.Methods The clinical data of 220 patients with supratentorial HICH with a volume between 20 and 40 mL were retrospectively analysed.Among them,142 received stereotactic aspiration surgery(stereotactic aspiration group)and 78 received best medical management(conservative group).All were followed up for 6 months.Multivariate logistic regression and Kaplan-Meier survival curves were used to compare the outcome between the two groups.results The rebleeding rate was lower in the group that had stereotactic aspiration when compared with the group with medical treatment(6[4.2%]vs 9[11.5%],χ2=4.364,p=0.037).After 6 months,although the mortality rate did not differ significantly between the two groups(8 cases[5.6%]vs 10 cases[12.8%],χ2=3.461,p=0.063),the rate of a favourable outcome was higher in the group who received stereotactic aspiration(χ2=15.870,p=0.000).Logistic regression identified that medical treatment(OR=1.64,p=0.000)was an independent risk factor for an unfavourable outcome.The Kaplan-Meier curves indicated that the median favourable outcome time in the stereotactic aspiration group was 59.5 days compared with that in the medically treated group(87.0 days).The log-rank test indicated that the prognosis at 6 months was better for those treated with stereotactic haematoma aspiration(χ2=29.866,p=0.000).However,the 6-month survival rate was similar between the two groups(χ2=3.253,p=0.068).Conclusions Stereotactic haematoma aspiration significantly improved the quality of life,although did not effectively reduce the rate of mortality.When selected appropriately,patients with HICH may benefit from this type of surgical intervention.Xuyang Zhang Shaolong Zhou Qiang Zhang Xudong Fu Yuehui Wu Jiasheng Liu Bo Liang Zhuo Yang Xinjun Wang 2019Stroke & Vascular Neurology2019,4,1:19
6Collagen type Ⅱ suppresses articular chondrocyte hypertrophy and osteoarthritis progression by promoting integrin β1-SMAD1 interaction显示文摘Hypertrophic differentiation is not only the terminal process of endochondral ossification in the growth plate but is also an important pathological change in osteoarthritic cartilage.Collagen type II(COL2A1)was previously considered to be only a structural component of the cartilage matrix,but recently,it has been revealed to be an extracellular signaling molecule that can significantly suppress chondrocyte hypertrophy.However,the mechanisms by which COL2A1 regulates hypertrophic differentiation remain unclear.In our study,a Col2a1 p.Gly1170Ser mutant mouse model was constructed,and Col2a1 loss was demonstrated in homozygotes.Loss of Col2a1 was found to accelerate chondrocyte hypertrophy through the bone morphogenetic protein(BMP)-SMAD1 pathway.Upon interacting with COL2A1,integrinβ1(ITGB1),the major receptor for COL2A1,competed with BMP receptors for binding to SMAD1 and then inhibited SMAD1 activation and nuclear import.COL2A1 could also activate ITGB1-induced ERK1/2 phosphorylation and,through ERK1/2-SMAD1 interaction,it further repressed SMAD1 activation,thus inhibiting BMP-SMAD1-mediated chondrocyte hypertrophy.Moreover,COL2A1 expression was downregulated,while chondrocyte hypertrophic markers and BMP-SMAD1 signaling activity were upregulated in degenerative human articular cartilage.Our study reveals novel mechanisms for the inhibition of chondrocyte hypertrophy by COL2A1 and suggests that the degradation and decrease in COL2A1 might initiate and promote osteoarthritis progression.Chengjie Lian Xudong Wang Xianjian Qiu Zizhao Wu Bo Gao Lei Liu Guoyan Liang Hang Zhou Xiaoming Yang Yan Peng Anjing Liang Caixia Xu Dongsheng Huang Peiqiang Su 2019Bone Research2019,7,1:17
7Deformation Behavior of Medium-strength TA18 High-pressure Tubes During NC Bending with Different Bending Radii显示文摘To improve the forming quality and forming limit of the numerical control (NC) bending of high-pressure titanium alloy tubes, in this study, using three-dimensional (3D) finite element method, deformation behavior of medium-strength TA18 high-pressure tubes during NC bending with different bending radii is investigated. The results show that the cross-sectional deformation and the wall thickness variation during NC bending of TA18 tubes using a small bending radius (less than 2 times of tube outside diameter) are clearly different from that using a normal bending radius (between 2 and 4 times of tube outside diameter). For bending with a normal bending radius, with or without a mandrel, the distribution of the flattening in the bending area resembles a platform and an asymmetric parabola, respectively. For bending with a small bending radius, with or without a mandrel, the flattening both distributes like a parabola, but the former has a stable peak which deflects toward the initial bending section, and the latter has a more pronounced peak with a bending angle and deflects slightly toward the bending section. The wall thickness variations with a normal bending radius, with and without a mandrel, both resemble a platform when the bending angle exceeds a certain angle. For the bending with a small radius, the distribution of the wall thickness variation without a mandrel follows an approximate parabola which increases in value as the bending angle increases. 8Expression profiles of microRNAs after focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats显示文摘Rat models of focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury were established by occlusion of the middle cerebral artery.Microarray analysis showed that 24 hours after cerebral ischemia,there were nine up-regulated and 27 down-regulated microRNA genes in cortical tissue.Bioinformatic analysis showed that bcl-2 was the target gene of microRNA-384-5p and microRNA-494,and caspase-3 was the target gene of microRNA-129,microRNA-320 and microRNA-326.Real-time PCR and western blot analyses showed that 24 hours after cerebral ischemia,bcl-2 mRNA and protein levels in brain tissue were significantly decreased,while caspase-3 mRNA and protein levels were significantly increased.This suggests that following cerebral ischemia,differentially expressed microRNA-384-5p,microRNA-494,microRNA-320,microRNA-129 and microRNA-326 can regulate bcl-2 and caspase-3 expression in brain tissue.Fengguo Zhai Xiuping Zhang Yue Guan Xudong Yang Yang Li Gaochen Song Lixin Guan 2012Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,12:13
9Numerically controlled bending performance of medium strength TA18 titanium alloy tubes under different die sets显示文摘The rapid development of aviation and aerospace technologies has led to increased interest in the application of numerically controlled(NC) technology for bending light-weight titanium alloy tubes.In order to study and develop advanced NC bending technology,it is necessary to understand the bending performance of medium strength TA18(Ti-3Al-2.5V,ASTM Gr.9) titanium alloy tubes during NC bending under different die sets.This paper focuses on the bending performance of medium strength TA18 tubes under different NC bending die sets,including the variations in the stress,strain,wall thickness,cross sectional deformation,and defects.The results show that adding a wiper die to the base die set decreases the radial,hoop,and tangential compressive stress and the tangential compressive strain,and adding a mandrel to the base die set also decreases these stresses,but increases the radial and hoop tensile stress and decreases the hoop compressive strain obviously,and brings about a three-dimensional tensile stress concentration where the mandrel provides support.For the NC bending of medium strength TA18 tubes,the flattening of cross section is more sensitive index than the thinning of wall thickness.Introducing a mandrel can improve the flattening of cross section obviously but it has a little worse effect on the thinning of wall thickness,and adding a wiper die to the base die set can inhibit the occurrence of the inside bulge but worsen the flattening of the cross section remarkably.Considering the above effects of the mandrel and wiper die on bending performance,it is reasonable to apply the die set comprising a bending die,clamp die,and pressure die for tubes with a small diameter and the die set including an appropriate mandrel additionally for tubes with a larger diameter,in order to bend the medium strength TA18 tubes with high quality and at low cost.ZHAN Mei JIANG ZhiQiang YANG He XU XuDong LI GuangJun 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,4:13
10Optimal design of anchor cables for slope reinforcement based on stress and displacement fields显示文摘How to determine reasonable position and length of anchor cable is a frequently encountered but not well addressed problem in slope reinforcement projects. In this paper, the variable-modulus elastoplastic strength reduction method(SRM) is used to obtain the stress field, displacement field, and factor of safety of slope. Slope reinforcement using anchor cables is modeled by surface loading, i.e. different distributions of surface loading represent various reinforcement schemes. Optimal reinforcement scheme of anchor cables can be determined based on slope stress and displacement fields. By comparing the factor of safety and stress field before and after slope reinforcement, it is found that better reinforcement results can be achieved if strong reinforcement is applied upon the regions with high stress and large displacement. This method can well optimize the arrangement of anchor cables. 11First observations of low latitude whistlers using WHU ELF/VLF receiver system显示文摘The recently developed high-quality WHU ELF/VLF receiver system has been deployed in Suizhou, China(geomagnetic latitude 21.81°N, longitude 174.44°E, L=1.16) to detect low latitude extremely-low-frequency(ELF: 0.3-3 k Hz) and very-low-frequency(VLF: 3-30 k Hz) emissions originating from either natural or artificial sources since February 2016. During the first-month operation of the receiver system, a total of 3039 clear whistlers have been recorded at this low latitude station with the majority(97.0%) occurring on 28 February and 1 March 2016. Observed whistlers manifest various types including single one-hop, echo train, multi-flash, and multi-path. They tend to intensify after local midnight, reach the peak around 04-05 LT, and then weaken quickly. Both features of lower cutoff frequencies of most whistlers below ~1.6 k Hz and almost uniform dispersion for many successive multi-flash whistlers suggest that these whistlers propagate along the geomagnetic field lines in the duct mode. 12Human activities aggravate nitrogen-deposition pollution to inland water over China显示文摘In the past three decades, China has built more than 87 000 dams with a storage capacity of ≈6560 km3 and the total surface area of inland water has increased by 6672 km2. Leaching of N from fertilized soils to rivers is the main source of N pollution in China, but the exposure of a growing inland water area to direct atmospheric N deposition and N leaching caused by N deposition on the terrestrial ecosystem, together with increased N deposition and decreased N flow, also tends to raise N concentrations in most inland waters. The contribution of this previously ignored source of N deposition to freshwaters is estimated in this study, as well as mitigation strategies. The results show that the annual amounts of N depositions ranged from 4.9 to 16.6 kg · ha-1· yr-1 in the 1990 s to exceeding 20 kg · ha-1· yr-1 in the 2010 s over most of regions in China, so the total mass of N(the net contribution of N deposition to the increase in N concentration) for lakes, rivers and reservoirs change from 122.26 Gg N · yr-1 in the 1990 s to 237.75 Gg N· yr-1 in the 2010 s. 13Glycine attenuates myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury by inhibiting myocardial apoptosis in rats显示文摘Glycine is a well-documented cytoprotective agent.However,whether it has a protective effect against myocar-dial ischemia-reperfusion injury in vivo is still unknown.By using an open-chest anesthetized rat model,we found that glycine reduced the infarct size by 21% in ischemia-reperfusion injury rats compared with that in the vehicle-treated MI/R rats.The left ventricular ejection fraction and fractional shortening were increased by 19.11% and 30.98%,respectively,in glycine-treated rats.The plasma creatine kinase levels in ischemia-reperfusion injury rats decreased following glycine treatment.Importantly,administration of glycine significantly inhibited apoptosis in post-ischemia-reperfusion myocardium,which was accompanied by suppression of phosphorylated p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase and c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase,as well as the Fas ligand.These results suggest that gly-cine attenuates myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in vivo by inhibiting cardiomyocytes apoptosis.Xiaozheng Zhong Xiaoyu Li Lingling Qiana Yiming Xu Yan Lu Jing Zhang Nan Li Xudong Zhu Jingjing Ben Qing Yang Qi Chen 2012The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,5:10
14Class A scavenger receptor activation inhibits endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced autophagy in macrophage显示文摘Macrophage death in advanced atherosclerosis promotes plaque necrosis and destabilization.Involvement of autophagy in bulk degradation of cellular components has been recognized recently as an important mechanism for cell survival under endoplasmic reticulum(ER) stress.We previously found that the engagement of class A scavenger receptor(SR-A) triggered JNK-dependent apoptosis in ER-stressed macrophages.However,pro-apoptotic mechanisms mediated by SR-A are not fully understood.Therefore,we sought to see if SR-A mediated apoptosis was associated with autophagy in macrophages.Here,we showed that fucoidan inhibited microtubule-associated protein light chain 3-phospholipid conjugates(LC3-Ⅱ) formation as well as the number of autophagosomes under ER stress.The inhibition of LC3-Ⅱ formation was paralleled by the activation of the mTOR pathway,and the inhibition of mTOR allowed LC3-Ⅱ induction in macrophages treated with thapsigargin plus fucoidan.Furthermore,apoptosis induced by fucoidan was prevented under ER stress by the mTOR inhibitor.We propose that fucoidan,a SR-A agonist,may contribute to macrophage apoptosis during ER stress by inhibiting autophagy.Hanpeng Huang Xiaoyu Li Yan Zhuang Nan Li Xudong Zhu Jin Hu Jingjing Ben Qing Yang Hui Bai Qi Chen 2014The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,3:9

16Design and implementation of rigid-flexible coupling for a half-flexible single jack nozzle显示文摘The aerodynamic design of a rigid-flexible coupling profile is the decisive factor for the flow-field quality of a supersonic free jet wind tunnel nozzle, and its mechanic dynamic features are the key for engineering implementation of continuous Mach number regulations. To fulfill the requirements of a free jet inlet/engine compatibility test within a wide simulation envelop, both uniform flow-fields of continuous acceleration and deceleration are necessary. In this paper, the aerodynamic design methods of an expansion wall and machinery implementation plan for the halfflexible single jack nozzle were researched. The profile control in nozzle flexible plate design was studied with a rigid-flexible coupling method. Design and calculations were performed with the help of numerical simulation. The technique of axial free stretching of the flexible plate was used to improve the matching performance between the designed elasticity profile and the theoretical one, and the rigid-flexible coupling structure was calibrated by wind tunnel tests. Results indicate that the flexible plate aerodynamic design method used here is effective and feasible. Via rigidflexible coupling design, the flexible plate agrees with the rigid body very well, and continuous Mach number changes can be achieved during the tests. 17A detailed investigation of low latitude tweek atmospherics observed by the WHU ELF/VLF receiver:Ⅰ. Automatic detection and analysis method显示文摘As a dispersive wave mode produced by lightning strokes, tweek atmospherics provide important hints of lower ionospheric(i.e., D-region) electron density. Based on data accumulation from the WHU ELF/VLF receiver system, we develop an automatic detection module in terms of the maximum-entropy-spectral-estimation(MESE) method to identify unambiguous instances of low latitude tweeks.We justify the feasibility of our procedure through a detailed analysis of the data observed at the Suizhou Station(31.57°N, 113.32°E) on17 February 2016. A total of 3961 tweeks were registered by visual inspection;the automatic detection method captured 4342 tweeks, of which 3361 were correct ones, producing a correctness percentage of 77.4%(= 3361/4342) and a false alarm rate of 22.6%(= 981/4342).A Short-Time Fourier Transformation(STFT) was also applied to trace the power spectral profiles of identified tweeks and to evaluate the tweek propagation distance. It is found that the fitting accuracy of the frequency–time curve and the relative difference of propagation distance between the two methods through the slope and through the intercept can be used to further improve the accuracy of automatic tweek identification. 19A PKS gene, pks-1, is involved in chaetoglobosin biosynthesis, pigmentation and sporulation in Chaetomium globosum显示文摘Chaetomium globosum is one of the most common fungi in nature. It is best known for producing chaetoglobosins; however, the molecular basis of chaetoglobosin biosynthesis is poorly understood in this fungus. In this study, we utilized RNA interference (RNAi) to characterize a polyketide synthase gene, pks-1, in C. globosum that is involved in the production of chaetoglobosin A. When pks-1 was knocked down by RNAi, the production of chaetoglobosin A dramatically decreased. Knock-down mutants also displayed a pigment-deficient phenotype. These results suggest that the two polyketides, melanin and chaetoglobosin, are likely to share common biosynthetic steps. Most importantly, we found that pks-1 also plays a critical role in sporulation. The silenced mutants of pks-1 lost the ability to produce spores. We propose that polyketides may modulate cellular development via an unidentified action. We also suggest that C. globosum pks-1 is unique because of its triple role in melanin formation, chaetoglobosin biosynthesis and sporulation. 20A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%.
