3Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target.To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality,this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades,clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world,and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies,the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades,and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere,while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source.The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland,wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink,but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration,nitrogen deposition,climate change,and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks,while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance.The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe,while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China.For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios.Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:32
4Puerarin protects brain tissue against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury by inhibiting the inflammatory response显示文摘Puerarin, a traditional Chinese medicine, exerts a powerful neuroprotective effect in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury, but its mechanism is unknown. Here, we established rat models of middle cerebral artery ischemia/reperfusion injury using the suture method. Puerarin(100 mg/kg) was administered intraperitoneally 30 minutes before middle cerebral artery occlusion and 8 hours after reperfusion. Twenty-four hours after reperfusion, we found that puerarin significantly improved neurological deficit, reduced infarct size and brain water content, and notably diminished the expression of Toll-like receptor-4, myeloid differentiation factor 88, nuclear factor kappa B and tumor necrosis factor-α in the ischemic region. 5Cell-Mediated Immunity Imbalance in Patients with Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy显示文摘Decidual lymphocytes may mediate fetal trophoblast recognition and regulate maternal immune reaction and play an essential role in the maintenance of normal pregnancy. The aim of this study was to compare the percentage of T cells, natural killer (NK) cells and natural killer T (NKT) cells within decidual parietalis of normal pregnant controls (NP) and patients with intraheptic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), and to investigate the production of interleukin-4 (IL-4), interferon-γ (IFN-γ) in the culture supernatant of decidual parietalis mononuclear cells (DPMCs). Compared with controls, the decidua parietalis from ICP were characterized with significant increased percentages of CD3-CD56+ cells, CD3+CD56+ cells, CD56+CD16+ cells, CD56+CD16- cells, CD56+NKG2D+ cells, and the significant decreased percentages of CD3+ cells, CD3+CD4+ cells. There were no differences found for the percentage of CD3+CD8+ cells, CD56+NKG2A+ cells between control and study group. In addition, the enhanced concentration of IFN-γ was presented in culture supernatant of DPMCs from ICP. 6SHP2 inhibition triggers anti-tumor immunity and synergizes with PD-1 blockade显示文摘Tyrosine phosphatase SHP2 is a promising drug target in cancer immunotherapy due to its bidirectional role in both tumor growth promotion and T-cell inactivation. Its allosteric inhibitor SHP099 is known to inhibit cancer cell growth both in vitro and in vivo. However, whether SHP099-mediated SHP2 inhibition retards tumor growth in vivo via anti-tumor immunity remains elusive. To address this, a CT-26 colon cancer xenograft model was established in mice since this cell line is insensitive to SHP099.Consequently, SHP099 minimally affected CT-26 tumor growth in immuno-deficient nude mice, but significantly decreased the tumor burden in CT-26 tumor-bearing mice with intact immune system.SHP099 augmented anti-tumor immunity, as shown by the elevated proportion of CD8tIFN-γtT cells and the upregulation of cytotoxic T-cell related genes including Granzyme B andPerforin, which decreased the tumor load. In addition, tumor growth in mice with SHP2-deficient T-cells was markedly slowed down because of enhanced anti-tumor responses. Finally, the combination of SHP099 and antiPD-1 antibody showed a higher therapeutic efficacy than either monotherapy in controlling tumor growthin two colon cancer xenograft models, indicating that these agents complement each other. 7Nitrous oxide emissions from a maize field during two consecutive growing seasons in the North China Plain显示文摘Nitrous oxide (N 2 O) emissions from a maize field in the North China Plain (Wangdu County,Hebei Province,China) were investigated using static chambers during two consecutive maize growing seasons in the 2008 and 2009.The N 2 O pulse emissions occurred with duration of about 10 days after basal and additional fertilizer applications in the both years.The average N 2 O fluxes from the CK (control plot,without crop,fertilization and irrigation),NP (chemical N fertilizer),SN (wheat straw returning plus chemical N fertilizer),OM- 1/2N (chicken manure plus half chemical N fertilizer) and OMN (chicken manure plus chemical N fertilizer) plots in 2008 were 8.51,72.1,76.6,101,107 ng N/(m 2 ·sec),respectively,and in 2009 were 33.7,30.0 and 35.0 ng N/(m 2 ·sec) from CK,NP and SN plots,respectively.The emission factors of the applied fertilizer as N 2 O-N (EFs) were 3.8% (2008) and 1.1% (2009) for the NP plot,3.2% (2008) and 1.2% (2009) for the SN plot,and 2.8% and 2.2% in 2008 for the OM-1/2N and OMN plots,respectively.Hydromorphic properties of the investigated soil (with gley) are in favor of denitrification.The large differences of the soil temperature and water-filled pore space (WFPS) between the two maize seasons were suspected to be responsible for the significant yearly variations.Compared with the treatments of NP and SN,chicken manure coupled with compound fertilizer application significantly reduced fertilizer loss rate as N 2 O-N.Yuanyuan Zhang Junfeng Liu Yujing Mu Zhu Xu Shuwei Pei Xiaoxiu Lun Ying Zhang 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,1:15
8Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 10DEVELOPMENT OF EXPERIMENTAL METHODS FOR IMPACT TESTING BY COMBINING HOPKINSON PRESSURE BAR WITH OTHER TECHNIQUES显示文摘The split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) technique and the wave propagation inverse analysis(WPIA) technique are both extensively used to experimentally investigate the impact behavior of materials, although neither of them alone provides a fully satisfactory analysis. In the present paper, attention is given to new experimental techniques by incorporating a damagemodified constitutive model into the SHPB technique and combining the Hopkinson pressure bar(HPB) technique with WPIA. First, to distinguish the response due to dynamic constitutive behavior and the response due to dynamic damage evolution, the SHPB method incorporating a damage-modified constitutive model is developed, including an explicit damage-modified Zhu–Wang–Tang model and an implicit damage-modified constitutive model. Second, when the SHPB results become invalid, a method of combining new Lagrange inverse analyses with the HPB technique is developed, including cases of the HPB arranged in front of a long specimen and behind the specimen. 12Effect of miniscalpel-needle on relieving the pain of myofascial pain syndrome: a systematic review显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect and safety of miniscalpel-needle(MSN) on reducing the pain of myofascial pain syndrome(MPS).METHODS: We reviewed the available literatures inception up to February 2014 using Pubmed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, Chinese Biomedical Database and Wanfang Database.RESULTS: Eight randomized controlled trials were finally identified. The main controls involved acupuncture, medications, injection, massage and cupping. We found that all of the studies agreed on the potential benefit of MSN as a strategy for MPS and the superiority compared to the controls, however,randomized methods applied in most of the trials could be criticized for their high or unclear risk of bias. Further research is also needed to clarify questions around the appropriate frequency and number of treatment sessions of MSN.CONCLUSION: This review shows that MSN might have the effect on MPS, even though there were some limitations in the studies included in the review. 15Halogen effects on phenylethynyl palladium(Ⅱ) complexes for living polymerization of isocyanides: a combined experimental and computational investigation显示文摘Phenylethynyl palladium(Ⅱ) complexes have proven to be effective catalysts for coordination polymerization of isocyanides. In this work, two new phenylethynyl palladium(Ⅱ) initiators bearing bromide(1b) and iodide(1c) were synthesized and applied for living polymerization of aryl and alkyl isocyanides. The coordinated halogen anions can significantly influence the kinetics of polymerization, with the observed order of reaction rates being 1c(Ⅰ)>1 b(Br)>1a(Cl). Impressively, 1c not only accelerates the reaction rate in both the initiation stage and propagation stage, but also can polymerize less active monomers that cannot be reacted by 1a. 16Highly sensitive flexible capacitive pressure sensor with a broad linear response range and finite element analysis of micro-array electrode显示文摘With the continuous development of wearable electronics,health care and smart terminals,highly performance flexible pressure sensors present a huge application prospect.In this study,by introducing the micro-array structured electrodes and dielectric layers with high dielectric constant,capacitive pressure sensor fabricated with a brand new preparation strategy and highly sensitive is proposed.The prepared micro-array structure is the basis for sensors with high sensitivity.Besides,the contact area between the two electrodes changes from linear to planar with the increased loading,which result in a wider linear responding range.In addition,by introducing ceramic dielectric material-barium titanate(BT)fillers into the dielectric layer to increase it’s the dielectric constant,the sensitivity of the sensor shows two-fold increase.Moreover,the sensitivity gradients can be tuned by changing the loading contents of BT particles.Hence,compared with parallel board capacitive sensors with ordinary dielectric layer,these sensors exhibit excellent performance as follow,high sensitivity(up to 4.9 kPa^(-1))under low pressure range(0-2500 Pa),low detection limit(<1.7 Pa),short response time(<50 ms),a stable response over 5000 loading-unloading cycles,bending stability and an adjustable sensitivity.Further,the flexible pressure sensor can detect the pressure of the water droplets and monitor human movement behavior.With the facile design and excellent comprehensive properties,the flexible pressure sensor provides a new approach to improve the sensitivity and shows a broad application prospects in the wearable electronics,health care and smart terminals.Longquan Ma Xuecheng Yu Yuanyuan Yang Yougen Hu Xinyu Zhang Huayuan Li Xing Ouyang Pengli Zhu Rong Sun Ching-ping Wong 2020Journal of Materiomics2020,6,2:4

18Co-metabolic and biochar-promoted biodegradation of mixed PAHs by highly efficient microbial consortium QY1显示文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs), typical representatives of the persistent organic pollutants(POPs), have become ubiquitous in the environment.In this study, a novel microbial consortium QY1 that performed outstanding PAHs-degrading capacity has been enriched.The degradation characteristics of single and mixed PAHs treated with QY1 were studied, and the effect of biochar on biodegradation of mixed PAHs and the potential of biochar in PAHs-heavy metal combined pollution bioremediation were also investigated.Results showed that, in single substrate system, QY1 degraded 94.5% of 500 mg/L phenanthrene(PHE) and 17.8% of 10 mg/L pyrene(PYR) after 7 days, while in PHE-PYR mixture system, the biodegradation efficiencies of PHE(500 mg/L) and PYR(10 mg/L) reached 94.0%and 96.2%, respectively, since PHE served as co-metabolic substrate to have significantly improved PYR biodegradation.Notably, with the cooperation of biochar, the biodegradations of PHE and PYR were greatly accelerated.Further, biochar could reduce the adverse impact of heavy metals(Cd^(2+), Cu^(2+), Cr_(2)O_(7)^(2-)) on PYR biodegradation remarkably.The sequencing analysis revealed that Methylobacterium, Burkholderia and Stenotrophomonas were the dominant genera of QY1 in almost all treatments, indicating that these genera might play key roles in PAHs biodegradation.Overall, this study provided new insights into the efficient bioremediation of PAHs-contaminated site.Min Li Hua Yin Minghan Zhu Yuanyuan Yu Guining Lu Zhi Dang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,9:4
19nNOS-mediated protein-protein interactions:promising targets for treating neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders显示文摘Neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders are one of the leading causes of disability worldwide and affect the health of billions of people.Nitric oxide(NO),a free gas with multitudinous bioactivities,is mainly produced from the oxidation of L-arginine by neuronal nitric oxide synthase(nNOS)in the brain.Inhibiting nNOS benefits a variety of neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders,including stroke,depression and anxiety disorders,posttraumatic stress disorder,Parkinson’s disease,Alzheimer’s disease,chronic pain,and drug addiction.Due to critical roles of nNOS in learning and memory and synaptic plasticity,direct inhibition of nNOS may cause severe side effects.Importantly,interactions of several proteins,including post-synaptic density 95(PSD-95),carboxyterminal PDZ ligand of nNOS(CAPON)and serotonin transporter(SERT),with the PSD/Disc-large/ZO-1 homologous(PDZ)domain of nNOS have been demonstrated to influence the subcellular distribution and activity of the enzyme in the brain.Therefore,it will be a preferable means to interfere with nNOS-mediated proteinprotein interactions(PPIs),which do not lead to undesirable effects.Herein,we summarize the current literatures on nNOS-mediated PPIs involved in neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders,and the discovery of drugs targeting the PPIs,which is expected to provide potential targets for developing novel drugs and new strategy for the treatment of neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.Yuanyuan Gu Dongya Zhu 2021The Journal of Biomedical Research2021,35,1:3
20First experimental constraints on WIMP couplings in the effective field theory framework from CDEX显示文摘We present weakly interacting massive particles(WIMPs) search results performed using two approaches of effective field theory from the China Dark Matter Experiment(CDEX), based on the data from both CDEX-1B and CDEX-10 stages. In the nonrelativistic effective field theory approach, both time-integrated and annual modulation analyses were used to set new limits for the coupling of WIMP-nucleon effective operators at 90% confidence level(C.L.) and improve over the current bounds in the low mχregion. In the chiral effective field theory approach, data from CDEX-10 were used to set an upper limit on WIMP-pion coupling at 90% C.L.
