| 8 | Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 9 | Efficiently coupled glucose oxidation for high-value D-glucaric acid with ultradurable hydrogen via Mn(III)in acidic solution显示文摘The electrooxidation of the alcohol and aldehyde molecules instead of water coupled with H2 production has been proven to be effective for producing high-value fine chemicals under alkaline conditions. It is also noteworthy that under acidic conditions, the stability of non-noble metal water oxidation catalysts remains a great challenge due to the lattice oxygen mechanism.Hence,we coupled the biomass-derived glucose oxidation for high-value D-glucaric acid(GRA)with ultra-durable hydrogen in acid solution over a Yb-MnO_(2)catalyst.The Mn^(3+)regulated by Yb atoms doped in MnO_(2)can effectively optimize the adsorption and desorption processes of the alcohol and aldehyde group and improve the intrinsic activity but cannot for H2O.The catalyst exhibited extremely high activity and stability after 50 h for glucose oxidation, inhibiting the lattice oxygen process and MnO4−formation,while the activity was quickly lost within 0.5 h for water oxidation.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations further demonstrated that glucose oxidation reaction proceeds preferentially due to the oxidation of aldehyde group with lower adsorption-free energy(−0.4 eV)than water(ΔG>0 eV),avoiding the lattice oxygen mechanism. This work suggests that biomass-derived glucose oxidation not only provides a cost-effective approach for high-value chemicals, but also shows an extremely potential as an alternative to acidic oxygen evolution reaction(OER)for ultradurable H2 production. | Junhua Li Yi Jiang Xu Zhang Yidan Huo Fanglin Du Yongxiao Tuo Zhiyan Guo Dawei Chen Shenghua Chen | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,8: | 0 |
| 10 | Constructing bimodal nanoprobe based on Gd:AgInS_(2)/ZnS quantum dots for fluorometric/magnetic resonance imaging in mesenchymal stem cells显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)hold great promise in regenerative medicine and received overwhelm-ing concerns to promote their therapeutic effects.Owing to the shortage of MSCs-specific biomarkers, bimodal imaging nanoprobes with integrated complementary information are of great importance in ameliorating the efficacy of MSCs terminal tracking. In this study,a noninvasive dual-mode imaging nanoprobe with enhanced detection sensitivity and spatial resolution based on alloyed Gd:AgInS_(2)/ZnS quantum dots(QDs)was first fabricated through a microwave-assisted heating method. The QDs with red emissive fluorescence exhibit excellent biocompatibility in MSCs under a confocal microscope. As for magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),the longitudinal relaxation rate of 11.1420 mM^(-1) S^(-1) of Gd:AgInS_(2)/ZnS QDs was achieved, which was 1.7 times higher than that of commercial MRI contrast agent(6.4667 mM^(-1) S^(-1)).Furthermore,the cellular internalization of Gd:AgInS_(2)/ZnS QDs exerts no significant effect on the adipogenesis of MSCs and is conducive to the observation of further adipogenic differentiation. Our work helps to verify the promising prospect to develop a bimodal nanoprobe of fluorescence/MRI based on Gd:AgInS_(2)/ZnS QDs,which could monitor the differentiation and migration of MSCs for further therapeu-tic approach. | Dan Yang Xian Wei Zhiyan Piao Zhongjie Cui Haiyang He Zhuoqi Wen Wanlu Zhang Le Wang Shiliang Mei Ruiqian Guo | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,17: | 0 |
| 11 | Clinicopathologic significance of CXCR4 and Nrf2 in colorectal cancer显示文摘The CXCR4 and Nrf2 signaling pathways are abnormally activated in response to cellular stress in various types of human cancers. In this study, we examined the expression of CXCR4 and Nrf2 in colorectal cancer (CRC) tissue specimens and investigated their correlation with patient clinicopathologic characteristics. We determined CXCR4 and Nrf2 expression in 76 CRC tissue specimens and paired normal tissue specimens by immunohistochemistry and real-time PCR. We found that the protein and mRNA transcript levels of CXCR4 were significantly higher in CRC tissue specimens than in paired normal tissues, while the expressions of Nrf2 protein and mRNA were increased in CRC tissues compared to distant non-cancerous tissues. High expression level of CXCR4 was positively correlated with poorly differentiated (P=0.031), more advanced tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage (P=0.019), lymph node metastasis (P=0.007) and distant metastasis (P=0.018). However, the expression of Nrf2 protein was positively correlated with larger tumor size (P=0.049), more advanced TNM stage (P=0.013), lymph node metastasis (P=0.016) and distant metastasis (P=0.023). Moreover, there was a strong relationship between CXCR4 and Nrf2 expression in CRC tissues, indicating that high Nrf2 expression may contribute to CXCR4 overexpression. In addition, combined expression of CXCR4 and Nrf2 strongly correlated with lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis (P=0.003). Furthermore, we found that combined high expression of CXCR4 and Nrf2 had stronger correlation with lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis than any single molecule did. This study indicated that the abnormal expression of CXCR4 and Nrf2 contributed to the progression of CRC. | Tinghua Hu Yu Yao Shuo Yu Hui Guo Lili Han Wenjuan Wang Tao Tian Yibin Hao Zhiyan Liu Kejun Nan Shuhong Wang | 2013 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2013,27,4: | 0 |
