| 1 | Early tectonic uplift of the northern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The Hexi Corridor is the northmost foreland basin of the Tibetan Plateau and its formation is controlled by the northern marginal fault of Tibet, Altyn Tagh Fault (ATF)-North Qilian Shan marginal Fault (NQF), and the southern Kuantan Shan-Longshou Shan Fault (KLF). So its study is important to understanding the mechanism of Tibet formation and its influence on global climate change. The oldest Cenozoic sediments in the Corridor is the Huoshaogou Formation which consists of terrigenous fine conglomerate, sandstone, sandy mudstone and mudstone, depositing in alluvial to lacustrine and fan delta sedimentary environments. Detailed paleomagnetic measurements of this sequence at Yumen clearly reveal eleven pairs of normal and reversed polarities. Fossil mammals found around the section support that most of the observed polarities can be well correlated with chrons between 13n and 18r of the standard geomagnetic polarity time scale, yielding ages of 40.2-33.35 Ma. The mean declinations of this sequence and its immediately above stratigraphy indicate an 18.3° rapid clockwise rotation of the Hexi Corridor. Since this sequence has been strongly folded and is capped by an angular unconformity, we think that the presence of the thick alluvial fan conglomeration at the bottom of the foreland basin may indicate the initial deformation and uplift of the northern Qilian Shan. This process could occur at latest at 40.2 Ma, driven by the faults NQF and KLF that thrust onto the Hexi corridor respectively from its southern and northern margins. | 2 | Biochar-based materials and their applications in removal of organic contaminants from wastewater:state-of-the-art review显示文摘As a class of famous carbon materials,biochars(BCs)and their derivative materials with excellent physicochemical properties and diversified functionalities present great potential in wastewater treatment fields.This review focuses on the latest development in reported biochar-based materials as superior adsorbents or catalysts for removing harmful organic contaminants from wastewater.The construction and properties of biochar-based materials are briefly introduced at the beginning.As one of the major factors affecting the properties of BCs,the wide diversity of feedstocks,such as agricultural and forest residues,industrial by-products as well as municipal wastes,endows BCs different chemical compositions and structures.Woody and herbaceous BCs usually have higher carbon contents,larger surface areas and strong aromaticity,which is in favor of the organic contaminant removal.Driven by the desire of more cost-effective materials,several types of biochar-based hybrid materials,such as magnetic BC composites(MBC),nanometal/nanometallic oxides/hydroxide BC composites and layered nanomaterial-coated BCs,as well as physically/chemically activated BCs,have also been developed.With the help of foreign materials,these types of hybrid BCs have excellent capacities to remove a wide range of organic contaminants,including organic dyestuff,phenols and chemical intermediates,as well as pharmaceutically active compounds,from aquatic solutions.Depending on the different types of biochar-based materials,organic contaminants can be removed by different mechanisms,such as physical adsorption,electrostatic interaction,π-πinteraction and Fenton process,as well as photocatalytic degradation.In summary,the low cost,tunable surface chemistry and excellent physical-chemical properties of BCs allow it to be a potential material in organic contaminant removal.The combination of BCs with foreign materials endows BCs more functionalities and broader development opportunities.Considering the urgent demand of practical wastewater treatment,we hope more researches will focus on the applications and commercialization of biochar-based materials. | Qiang Huang Shuang Song Zhe Chen Baowei Hu Jianrong Chen Xiangke Wang | 2019 | Biochar2019,1,1: | 24 |

To provide an efficient and easy-to-use platform for managing huge sequence data, here we present Genome Sequence Archive(GSA; http://gffzzdbc7b6aaae734bddho0wx5pucqbfp6bcq.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/gsa or http://gffzz4eaf941a184140e3ho0wx5pucqbfp6bcq.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn), a data repository for archiving raw sequence data. In compliance with data standards and structures of the International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration(INSDC), GSA adopts four data objects(Bio Project, Bio Sample,Experiment, and Run) for data organization, accepts raw sequence reads produced by a variety of sequencing platforms, stores both sequence reads and metadata submitted from all over the world,and makes all these data publicly available to worldwide scientific communities. | 7 | Late Eocene pollen records and palaeoenvironmental changes in northern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The Eocene palaeovegetation landscape and palaeoclimate reconstructed from the pollen records in the Jiuquan Basin, northwest China provide some important information on the early uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the origin and evolution of the aridification in northwest China. The records show the arid-semiarid scrubs with open forest palynofloras controlled by the subtropical high existed in northwest China during the 40.2-33.4 Ma. Four pollen assemblages are found: Nitrariadites-Cheno-podipollis-Pinaceae assemblage (40.2-37.9 Ma) is followed by Chenopodipollis-Nitrariadites assemblage (37.9-34.6 Ma), Pinuspollenites & Abietineaepollenites-Chenopodipollis assemblage (34.6-33.9 Ma), and Chenopodipollis-Nitrariadites assemblage (33.9-33.4 Ma). The percentage of thermophilic types is in anti-correlation with that of the dry types, which means the palaeoclimate is relatively warmwet or cold-dry during most of that time. | 9 | Green fluorescent protein (GFP) transgenic pig produced by somatic cell nuclear transfer显示文摘Transgenic somatic cell nuclear transfer is a very promising route for producing transgenic farm ani-mals. Research on GFP transgenic pigs can provide useful information for breeding transgenic pigs, human disease models and human organ xenotransplantation. In this study, a liposomal transfection system was screened and transgenic embryos were reconstructed by nuclear transfer of GFP positive cells into enucleated in vitro matured oocytes. The development of reconstructed embryos both in vitro and in vivo was observed, and GFP expression was determined. The results showed that porcine fe-tal-derived fibroblast cells cultured with 4.0 μL/mL liposome and 1.6 μg/mL plasmid DNA for 6 h re-sulted in the highest transfection rate (3.6%). The percentage of GFP reconstructed embryos that de-veloped in vitro to the blastocyst stage was 10%. Of those the GFP positive percentage was 48%. Re-constructed transgenic embryos were transferred to 10 recipients. 5 of them were pregnant, and 3 de-livered 6 cloned piglets in which 4 piglets were transgenic for the GFP as verified by both GFP protein expression and GFP DNA sequence analysis. The percentage of reconstructed embryos that resulted in cloned piglets was 1.0%; while the percentage of piglets that were transgenic was 0.7%. | 10 | Fingered Intrusion of Shallow Saucer-shaped Igneous Sills: Insights from the Jiaojiang Sag, East China Sea显示文摘An extensive suite of igneous sills was intruded into the Tertiary sedimentary section of the Jiaojiang sag,East China Sea.This suite has been well imaged offshore through 2D and 3D seismic surveys,showing a close relationship with CO2 content in nearby gas discoveries.A new observational model,which incorporates simple upward propagation,simple horizontal propagation,and transgressive propagation,was proposed to interpret these sill intrusions.In this model,the source magma of the saucer-shaped sills was injected from their lowest points near the center.The transgressive propagation can be interpreted as a combination of the vertical and horizontal propagation.Most shallow sub-volcanic intrusions in the Jiaojiang sag exhibit fingered characteristics,both vertically and horizontally.The vertical fingered propagation produced saucer-shaped sills arranged in the flower style.Along the brims of lower sills could usually be found the upper sills,which are interpreted to have formed simultaneously with or later than the lower feeder sills.In the second type,the chilled paths of the older sills were reutilized by subsequent intrusions.The horizontal fingered propagation formed sheet intrusions that exhibit groove,lobate,tubular,and crevasse splaylike geometry in plan view.In 3D view,the sheet intrusions have still preserved the lower center and higher rim that similar with the sub-rounded saucer-shaped sills.Although fracture propagation may be important,flow inflation was the key mechanism of magma intrusion.Further consideration of the mechanisms underlying sill formation may help explain the fingered characteristics of sill propagation. | GUO Rui ZHANG Gongcheng ZHANG Jinwei ZHAO Xingbin LIU Junbang YUAN Dawei SONG Shuang | 2013 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,5: | 8 |
| 11 | Genome-wide identification and analysis of the DREB genes and their expression profiles under abiotic stresses in Chinese jujube(Ziziphus jujuba Mill.)显示文摘CBF/DREB proteins play a critical role in abiotic stress-mediated gene expression and represent attractive regulons for plant breeding programs.However,no study has been conducted for CBF/DREB protein-related genes in jujube(Ziziphus jujuba Mill.).In this study,twenty-five ZjDREB genes were identified and annotated from the jujube(Z.jujuba‘Dongzao’)genome.Detailed analysis,including gene classification,annotation,phylogenetic evaluation,conserved motif determination and expression profiling were performed on all genes.Phylogenetic analysis showed that ZjDREB proteins were divided into five subgroups(A1–A5),but lacking a subgroup A6 corresponding to AtDREBs.The ZjDREB genes were distributed in nine of twelve chromosomes in the genome.Additionally,the expression patterns of the DREB genes under different abiotic stresses were investigated using q RT-PCR.Nineteen ZjDREB genes were down-regulated under low temperature,in contrast six ZjDREB genes(01,03,05,11,23 and 24)were up-regulated.Under drought,salinity and high temperature conditions,expression of ZjDREB03,09,10,14,15,17 and 20 genes were induced and showed similar expression patterns,suggesting that various stress conditions share common elements in the signaling pathway.The results suggest that the family of DREB genes play an important role in abiotic stresses in jujube,and provide a foundation for further functional studies of this important class of transcriptional regulators. | Heying Zhou Jiping Jia Decang Kong Zhendong Zhang Shuang Song Yingyue Li Xiaoming Pang | 2019 | Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,4: | 8 |
| 12 | Discriminated sgRNAs-Based SurroGate System Greatly Enhances the Screening Efficiency of Plant Base-Edited Cells显示文摘The development of CRISPR/Cas9-mediated base editing has made genomic modification more efficient. However, selection of genetically modified cells from millions of treated cells, especially plant cells, is still challenging. In this study, an efficient surrogate reporter system based on a defective hygromycin resistance gene was established in rice to enrich base-edited cells. After step-by-step optimization, the Discriminated sgRNAs-based SurroGate system (DisSUGs) was established by artificially differentiating the editing abilities of a wild-type single guide RNA (sgRNA) targeting the surrogate reporter gene and an enhanced sgRNA targeting endogenous sites. The DisSUGs enhanced the efficiency of screening base-edited cells by 3- to 5-fold for a PmCDA1-based cytosine-to-tyrosine base editor (PCBE), and 2.5- to 6.5-fold for an adenine base editor (ABE) at endogenous targets. These targets showed editing efficiencies of <25% in the conventional systems. The DisSUGs greatly enhanced the frequency of homozygous substitutions and expanded the activity window slightly for both a PCBE and an ABE. Analyses of the total number of single-nucleotide variants from whole-genome sequencing revealed that, compared with the no-enrichment PCBE strategy, the DisSUGs did not alter the frequency of genome-wide sgRNA-independent off-target mutations, but slightly increased the frequency of target-dependent off-target mutations. | 13 | Association of genotypes of rs671 within ALDH2 with risk for gastric cardia adenocarcinoma in the Chinese Han population in high-and low-incidence areas显示文摘Objective: This study aimed to determine if gastric cardia adenocarcinoma(GCA) risk was associated with the lys(A or *2) allele at the rs671(glu504lys) polymorphism within the aldehyde dehydrogenase 2(ALDH2) gene in a Chinese Han population. We also aimed to investigate ALDH2 genotypic distributions between subjects from high- and low-incidence areas for both GCA and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Methods: We designed a case-control study including 2,686 patients with GCA and 3,675 control subjects from high- and lowincidence areas for both GCA and ESCC in China. Taq Man allele discrimination assay was used to genotype the rs671 polymorphism. χ~2 test and binary logistic regression analysis were used to estimate the odds ratios for the development of GCA,and multivariate ordinal logistic regression was used to analyze ALDH2 genotypic distributions among different groups.Results: Compared with ALDH2*1/*1 homozygotes, ALDH2*1/*2 and ALDH2*2/*2 carriers did not increase the risk for GCA in the Chinese Han population(P>0.05). Interestingly, the ratio of homozygous or heterozygous ALDH2 *2 carriers in highincidence areas for both GCA and ESCC was lower than that in low-incidence areas(P<0.001).Conclusions: Genotypes of rs671 at ALDH2 may not increase GCA susceptibility in Chinese Han populations. In addition, the ALDH2 genotypic distribution differs between Chinese Han populations from high- and low-incidence areas for both GCA and ESCC. | 14 | Effect of Stokes drift on upper ocean mixing显示文摘Stokes drift is the main source of vertical vorticity in the ocean mixed layer. In the ways of Coriolis-Stokes forcing and Langmuir circulations, Stokes drift can substantially affect the whole mixed layer. A modified Mellor-Yamada 2.5 level turbulence closure model is used to parameterize its effect on upper ocean mixing conventionally. Results show that comparing surface heating with wave breaking, Stokes drift plays the most important role in the entire ocean mixed layer, especially in the subsurface layer. As expected, Stokes drift elevates both the dissipation rate and the turbulence energy in the upper ocean mixing. Also, influence of the surface heating, wave breaking and wind speed on Stokes drift is investigated respectively. Research shows that it is significant and important to assessing the Stokes drift into ocean mixed layer studying. | 15 | Effect of Langmuir circulation on upper ocean mixing in the South China Sea显示文摘Effect of Langmuir circulation(LC) on upper ocean mixing is investigated by a two-way wave-current coupled model.The model is coupled of the ocean circulation model ROMS(regional ocean modeling system) to the surface wave model SWAN(simulating waves nearshore) via the model-coupling toolkit.The LC already certified its importance by many one-dimensional(1D) research and mechanism analysis work.This work focuses on inducing LC's effect in a three-dimensional(3-D) model and applying it to real field modeling.In ROMS,the Mellor-Yamada turbulence closure mixing scheme is modified by including LC's effect.The SWAN imports bathymetry,free surface and current information from the ROMS while exports significant wave parameters to the ROMS for Stokes wave computing every 6 s.This coupled model is applied to the South China Sea(SCS) during September 2008 cruise.The results show that LC increasing turbulence and deepening mixed layer depth(MLD) at order of O(10 m) in most of the areas,especially in the north part of SCS where most of our measurements operated.The coupled model further includes wave breaking which will brings more energy into water.When LC works together with wave breaking,more energy is transferred into deep layer and accelerates the MLD deepening.In the north part of the SCS,their effects are more obvious.This is consistent with big wind event in the area of the Zhujiang River Delta.The shallow water depth as another reason makes them easy to influence the ocean mixing as well. | LI Shuang SONG Jinbao FAN Wei | 2013 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2013,32,3: | 6 |

| 17 | A numerical study on seasonal variations of the thermocline in the South China Sea based on the ROMS显示文摘On the basis of the regional ocean modeling system(ROMS), the seasonal variations of the thermocline in the South China Sea(SCS) were numerically investigated. The simulated hydrodynamics are in accordance with previous studies: the circulation pattern in the SCS is cyclonic in winter and anticyclonic in summer, and such a change is mostly driven by the monsoon winds. The errors between the modeled temperature profiles and the observations obtained by cruises are quite small in the upper layers of the ocean, indicating that the ocean status is reasonably simulated. On the basis of the shapes of the vertical temperature profiles, five thermocline types(shallow thermocline, deep thermocline, hybrid thermocline, double thermocline, and multiple thermocline) are defined herein. In winter, when the northeasterly monsoon prevails, most shallow shelf seas in the northwest of the SCS are well mixed, and there is no obvious thermocline. The deep region generally has a deep thermocline, and the hybrid or double thermocline often occurs in the areas near the cold eddy in the south of the SCS. In summer, when the southwesterly monsoon prevails, the shelf sea area with a shallow thermocline greatly expands. The distribution of different thermocline types shows a relationship with ocean bathymetry: from shallow to deep waters, the thermocline types generally change from shallow or hybrid to deep thermocline, and the double or multiple thermocline usually occurs in the steep regions. The seasonal variations of the three major thermocline characteristics(the upper bound depth, thickness, and intensity) are also discussed. | 18 | Development and utilization of a new chemically-induced soybean library with a high mutation density显示文摘Mutagenized populations have provided important materials for introducing variation and identifying gene function in plants. In this study, an ethyl methanesulfonate(EMS)-induced soybean(Glycine max) population,consisting of 21,600 independent M_2 lines, was developed.Over 1,000 M_(4(5))families, with diverse abnormal phenotypes for seed composition, seed shape, plant morphology and maturity that are stably expressed across different environments and generations were identified. Phenotypic analysis of the population led to the identification of a yellow pigmentation mutant, gyl, that displayed significantly decreased chlorophyll(Chl) content and abnormal chloroplast development. Sequence analysis showed that gyl is allelic to Minn Gold, where a different single nucleotide polymorphism variation in the Mg-chelatase subunit gene(ChlI1a) results in golden yellow leaves. A cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence marker was developed and may be applied to marker-assisted selection for the golden yellow phenotype in soybean breeding. | 19 | Anxiety symptoms in patients with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome:a cross-sectional study显示文摘Background:As a congenital malformation that results in infertility and an inability to have vaginal intercourse,Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser(MRKH)syndrome places a considerable psychological burden on patients,which results in anxiety symptoms.However,only single case studies or a few small to medium-sized cross-sectional studies were identified to focus on anxiety symptoms in MRKH patients.Thus,the aim of this study was to explore the status of anxiety symptoms and the related factors in patients with MRKH syndrome.Methods:This cross-sectional study involving 141 patients with MRKH syndrome and 178 healthy women was conducted from January 2018 to December 2018.All participants were required to complete a demographic questionnaire and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item scale(GAD-7),Patient Health Questionnaire-9,Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised,Short Scale for Chinese,and Chinese Version of the Female Sexual Function Index.The main outcome was the anxiety symptoms measured by the GAD-7.Main outcome was compared between the MRKH syndrome group and the healthy control group.Then,we explored the related factors by comparing patients with and without anxiety symptoms.Results:Of the respondents,24.1%experienced moderate to severe anxiety symptoms.Patients with MRKH syndrome manifested more severe anxiety symptoms than healthy women.Negative self-evaluation of femininity(odds ratio[OR]2.706,95%confidence interval[CI]1.010-7.247),neurotic personality traits(OR 1.100,95%CI 1.029-1.175),and coexisting depressive symptoms(OR 4.422,95%CI 1.498-13.049)were more prevalent in anxious patients.Conclusion:The findings stress the importance of anxiety symptom screening in MRKH patients and identify patients at risk of anxiety symptoms,providing a possible basis for future intervention. | Shuang Song Na Chen Yan-Ping Duan Jia Kang Shan Deng Hong-Xin Pan Lan Zhu | 2020 | Chinese Medical Journal2020,,4: | 6 |
