2Receptome profiling identifies KREMEN1 and ASGR1 as alternative functional receptors of SARS-CoV-2显示文摘Host cellular receptors play key roles in the determination of virus tropism and pathogenesis.However,little is known about SARS-CoV-2 host receptors with the exception of ACE2.Furthermore,ACE2 alone cannot explain the multi-organ tropism of SARS-CoV-2 nor the clinical differences between SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV,suggesting the involvement of other receptor(s).Here,we performed genomic receptor profiling to screen 5054 human membrane proteins individually for interaction with the SARS-CoV-2 capsid spike(S)protein.Twelve proteins,including ACE2,ASGR1,and KREMEN1,were identified with diverse S-binding affinities and patterns.ASGR1 or KREMEN1 is sufficient for the entry of SARS-CoV-2 but not SARS-CoV in vitro and in vivo.SARS-CoV-2 utilizes distinct ACE2/ASGR1/KREMEN1(ASK)receptor combinations to enter different cell types,and the expression of ASK together displays a markedly stronger correlation with virus susceptibility than that of any individual receptor at both the cell and tissue levels.The cocktail of ASK-related neutralizing antibodies provides the most substantial blockage of SARS-CoV-2 infection in human lung organoids when compared to individual antibodies.Our study revealed an interacting host receptome of SARS-CoV-2,and identified ASGR1 and KREMEN1 as alternative functional receptors that play essential roles in ACE2-independent virus entry,providing insight into SARS-CoV-2 tropism and pathogenesis,as well as a community resource and potential therapeutic strategies for further COVID-19 investigations.Yunqing Gu Jun Cao Xinyu Zhang Hai Gao Yuyan Wang Jia Wang Juan He Xiaoyi Jiang Jinlan Zhang Guanghui Shen Jie Yang Xichen Zheng Gaowei Hu Yuanfei Zhu Shujuan Du Yunkai Zhu Rong Zhang Jianqing Xu Fei Lan Di Qu Guoliang Xu Yun Zhao Dong Gao Youhua Xie Min Luo Zhigang Lu 2022Cell Research2022,32,1:8

4Genome-wide prediction in a hybrid maize population adapted to Northwest China显示文摘Genome-wide prediction is a promising approach to boost selection gain in hybrid breeding.Our main objective was to evaluate the potential and limits of genome-wide prediction to identify superior hybrid combinations adapted to Northwest China.A total of 490 hybrids derived from crosses among 119 inbred lines from the Shaan A and Shaan B heterotic pattern were used for genome-wide prediction of ten agronomic traits.We tested eight different statistical prediction models considering additive(A)effects and in addition evaluated the impact of dominance(D)and epistasis(E)on the prediction ability.Employing five-fold cross validation,we show that the average prediction ability ranged from 0.386 to 0.794 across traits and models.Six parametric methods,i.e.ridge regression,LASSO,Elastic Net,Bayes B,Bayes C and reproducing kernel Hilbert space(RKHS)approach,displayed a very similar prediction ability for each trait and two non-parametric methods(random forest and support vector machine)had a higher prediction performance for the trait rind penetrometer resistance of the third internode above ground(RPR_TIAG).The models of A+D RKHS and A+D+E RKHS were slightly better for predicting traits with a relatively high non-additive variance.Integrating trait-specific markers into the A+D RKHS model improved the prediction ability of grain yield by 3%,from 0.528 to 0.558.Of all 6328 potential hybrids,selection of the top 44 hybrids would lead to a 6%increase in grain yield compared with Zhengdan 958,a commercially successful hybrid variety.In conclusion,our results substantiate the value of genome-wide prediction for hybrid breeding and suggest dozens of promising single crosses for developing high-yielding hybrids for Northwest China.Guoliang Li Yuan Dong Yusheng Zhao Xiaokang Tian Tobias Würschum Jiquan Xue Shaojiang Chen Jochen C.Reif Shutu Xu Wenxin Liu 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,5:4

6Numerical study on the thermal performance of packed-bed latent heat thermal energy storage system with biomimetic alveoli structure capsule显示文摘Bionics provides a positive and beneficial impact on the development of various materials and systems, which has been widely used in energy storage, heat transfer enhancement, and solar thermochemical reactions. In this paper, the idea of heat storage unit with biomimetic alveoli structure is proposed and introduced to increase the heat transfer area and improve the thermal performance of the packed-bed latent heat thermal energy storage(LHTES) system. The effects of heat storage unit structure on temperature distribution, liquid fraction, thermal storage capacity, and other performance indexes of the conventional model and biomimetic model are analyzed. The numerical results indicate that the biomimetic alveoli structure can improve the thermal response of heat storage unit, increase the specific surface area, and achieve a faster heat storage process of the packed-bed compared with the conventional structure. Among various existing models, the double-cell model has a significant improvement.Compared with the conventional model, the maximum increase of liquid fraction and charging efficiency are 9.8% and 6.4%,respectively. 8D2 lymphadenectomy with complete mesogastrium excision vs. conventional D2 gastrectomy for advanced gastric cancer显示文摘Background: The complete mesogastrium excision (CME) based on D2 radical gastrectomy is believed to significantly reduce the local-regional recurrence compared with D2 radical gastrectomy in advanced gastric cancer, and it is widely used in China. This study aimed to explore whether D2 + CME is superior to D2 on surgical outcomes during gastrectomy from Chinese data.Methods: Feasible studies comparing the D2 + CME (D2 + CME group) and D2 (D2 group) published up to March 2020 are searched from electronic databases. The data showing surgical and complication outcomes are extracted to be pooled and analyzed.Results: Fourteen records including 1352 patients were included. The D2 + CME group had a shorter mean operative time (weighted mean difference [WMD] = -16.72 min, 95% confidence interval [CI]: -26.56 to - 6.87 min,P < 0.001), lower mean blood loss (WMD = -39.08 mL, 95% CI: -49.94 to -28.21 mL,P < 0.001), higher mean number of retrieved lymph nodes (WMD = 2.13, 95% CI: 0.58-3.67,P = 0.007), shorter time to first flatus (WMD =-0.31 d, 95% CI: -0.53 to - 0.10 d,P = 0.005), and postoperative hospital days (WMD =-1.09, 95% CI: -1.92 to -0.25,P = 0.010) than the D2 group. Subgroup analysis suggested that the advantages from the D2 + CME group were obvious in traditional open radical gastrectomy, proximal gastrectomy, and distal gastrectomy compared with D2 group. The evaluations of post-operative complications showed that the patients who underwent D2 + CME had a lower incidence of post-operative complications than the patients who underwent D2 surgery alone (relative risk [RR] = 0.65, 95% CI: 0.45-0.87,P = 0.003). The D2 radical gastrectomy plus CME improved 3-year overall survival (OS) (RR = 1.16, 95% CI: 1.02-1.32,P = 0.020) and lowered the local recurrence rate (RR = 0.51, 95% CI: 0.28-0.94,P = 0.030). 9The genome of the recretohalophyte Limonium bicolor provides insights into salt gland development and salinity adaptation during terrestrial evolution显示文摘Halophytes have evolved specialized strategies to cope with high salinity.The extreme halophyte sea lavender(Limonium bicolor)lacks trichomes but possesses salt glands on its epidermis that can excrete harmful ions,such as sodium,to avoid salt damage.Here,we report a high-quality,2.92-Gb,chromosome-scale L.bicolor genome assembly based on a combination of Illumina short reads,single-molecule,real-time long reads,chromosome conformation capture(Hi-C)data,and Bionano genome maps,greatly enriching the genomic information on recretohalophytes with multicellular salt glands.Although the L.bicolor genome contains genes that show similarity to trichome fate genes from Arabidopsis thaliana,it lacks homologs of the decision fate genes GLABRA3,ENHANCER OF GLABRA3,GLABRA2,TRANSPARENT TESTA GLABRA2,and SIAMESE,providing a molecular explanation for the absence of trichomes in this species.We identified key genes(LbHLH and LbTTG1)controlling salt gland development among classical trichome homologous genes and confirmed their roles by showing that their mutations markedly disrupted salt gland initiation,salt secretion,and salt tolerance,thus offering genetic support for the long-standing hypothesis that salt glands and trichomes may share a common origin.In addition,a whole-genome duplication event occurred in the L.bicolor genome after its divergence from Tartary buckwheat and may have contributed to its adaptation to high salinity.The L.bicolor genome resource and genetic evidence reported in this study provide profound insights into plant salt tolerance mechanisms that may facilitate the engineering of salt-tolerant crops.Fang Yuan Xi Wang Boqing Zhao Xiaojing Xu Miao Shi Bingying Leng Xinxiu Dong Chaoxia Lu Zhongtao Feng Jianrong Guo Guoliang Han Haikuan Zhang Jianwei Huang Min Chen Bao-Shan Wang 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,6:3
10Selective laser melting of dense and crack-free AlCoCrFeNi_(2.1) eutectic high entropy alloy: Synergizing strength and ductility显示文摘Additively manufactured high-entropy alloys generally suffer from low strength and/or poor ductility.In this work,by leveraging the good castability of eutectic high entropy alloys and high cooling rate of selective laser melting(SLM),we report a nearly fully dense and crack-free as-SLM AlCoCrFeNi_(2.1) eutectic high entropy alloy with an exceptional strength-ductility synergy,showing an ultrahigh yield strength of 982.1±35.2 MPa and an ultimate tensile strength of 1322.8±54.9 MPa together with an elongation to fracture of 12.3±0.5%.Such strength-ductility enhancement is owing to the heterogeneous eutectic microstructure consisting of the columnar,equiaxed,and“L-shape”cells with much refined sizes down to nanoscales.The morphology of cells in the transition zone is related to the misorientation between the growth direction of adjacent layers.This heterogeneous eutectic microstructure is the result of the graingrowth behavior dominated by the mechanisms of the epitaxial growth and growth of heterogeneous nuclei in SLM.Our current results provide a new methodology for the future design of ultrahigh-strength and ductile SLM-fabricated metallic materials including HEAs,and other printable alloys for various structural applications.Lin He Shiwei Wu Anping Dong Haibin Tang Dafan Du Guoliang Zhu Baode Sun Wentao Yan 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,22:2
11Study on the Treatment of Acid Mine Drainage Containing Fe^(2+) and Mn^(2+) Using Modified Spontaneous Combustion Gangue显示文摘The high concentrations of Fe^(2+) and Mn^(2+) in acid mine drainage make it difficult and expensive to treat.It is urgent that we find a cheap and efficient adsorption material to treat Fe^(2+) and Mn^(2+).As a solid waste in mining areas,coal gangue occupies a large area and pollutes the surrounding environment during the stacking process.Developing a method of resource utilization is thus a research hotspot.In this study,we modified spontaneous combustion gangue using NaOH,NaCl,and HCl by chemically modifying the minerals.We determined the optimal conditions for treating Fe^(2+) and Mn^(2+) in acid mine drainage with spontaneous combustion gangue and modified coal gangue using the single factor test method.Based on results of the static test,two dynamic test columns,column No.1(spontaneous combustion gangue)and column No.2(NaOH modified spontaneous combustion gangue),were constructed,and the repair effects of acid mine drainage were compared and analyzed using dynamic experiments.The results show that overall,NaOH modified spontaneous combustion gangue is the most efficient at removing the Fe^(2+) and Mn^(2+) in acid mine drainage.The optimal conditions for NaOH modification are an NaOH concentration of 3 mol/L,a liquid to solid ratio of 2 L/kg,and a modification time of 8 h.The overall efficiency of column No.2 at removing Fe^(2+) and Mn^(2+) from acid mine drainage is better than that of column No.1.Among them,the average removal efficiency of Fe^(2+)and Mn^(2+) from acid mine drainage in column No.2 were 97.73%and 44.82%,respectively.The above results show that NaOH modified spontaneous combustion gangue is a good adsorbent,which has application potential in wastewater remediation,as it can achieve the purpose of“treating dust with waste”.Xuying Guo Saiou Fu Junzhen Di Yanrong Dong Guoliang Jiang 2021Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,3:2
12Cobalt-containing covalent organic frameworks for visible light-driven hydrogen evolution显示文摘Covalent organic frameworks(COFs) have recently emerged as a new class of photocatalysts.However,integrated design is crucial to maximizing the performance of COF-incorporating photocatalytic systems.Herein,we compare two strategies of installing earth-abundant metal-based catalytic centers into the matrice of a 2 D COF named NUS-55.Compared to NUS-55(Co)prepared from the post-synthetic metalation of coordination sites within the COF,the molecular co-catalyst impregnated NUS-55/[Co(bpy)3]Cl2 achieves a seven-fold improvement in visible light-driven H2 evolution rate to 2,480 μmol g^-1h^-1,with an apparent quantum efficiency(AQE) of 1.55% at 450 nm.Our results show that the rational design of molecular anchoring sites in COFs for the introduction of catalytic metal sites can be a viable strategy for the development of highly efficient photocatalysts with enhanced stability and photocatalytic activities.Jian Wang Jian Zhang Shing Bo Peh Guoliang Liu Tanay Kundu Jinqiao Dong Yunpan Ying Yuhong Qian Dan Zhao 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,2:2

14Thermal Performance Analysis of PCM Capsules Packed-Bed System with Biomimetic Leaf Hierarchical Porous Structure显示文摘As an efficient natural selection nutrient transport system,biomimetic leaf hierarchical porous structure has unique advantages in material transportation and energy transfer.Biomimetic leaf hierarchical porous structure has been widely used in solar thermochemical reactions,photocatalysis,and energy storage.To improve the thermal efficiency and reduce the power consumption,the authors introduce the idea of bionic leaf hierarchical porous structure packed-bed latent heat thermal energy storage(LHTES)system.Under the same porosity,the diameter of the PCM capsules is designed to change along the flow direction to optimize the thermal performance.The effects of velocity on temperature distribution,pressure drop,liquid fraction,and thermal storage capacity of the conventional uniform model and bionic leaf hierarchical porous model are analyzed.The results show that the bionic leaf hierarchical porous structure can thin the thickness of the thermocline,reduce the pressure drop,increase the heat transfer area,and improve the thermal response of the packed-bed compared with the conventional uniform model.The maximum increases of liquid fraction and completion rate are 36.6%and 20.3%with pressure drop reduction of 25 Pa,respectively.The maximum decrease of the above-melting point(MP)thermocline is 51.7%as well.These results provide suggestions to optimize the packed-bed LHTES system and improve its thermal performance under practical conditions.DONG Yan WANG Fuqiang YANG Luwei SHI Xuhang ZHANG Guoliang SHUAI Yong 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,5:2
15Wall pressure beneath a transitional hypersonic boundary layer over an inclined straight circular cone显示文摘Properties of wall pressure beneath a transitional hypersonic boundary layer over a 7°half-angle blunt cone at angle of attack 6°are studied by Direct Numerical Simulation.The wall pressure has two distinct frequency peaks.The low-frequency peak with f≈10−50 kHz is very likely the unsteady crossflow mode based on its convection direction,i.e.along the axial direction and towards the windward symmetry ray.Highfrequency peaks are roughly proportional to the local boundary layer thickness.Along the trajectories of stationary crossflow vortices,the location of intense high-frequency wall pressure moves from the bottom of trough where the boundary layer is thin to the bottom of shoulder where the boundary layer is thick.By comparing the pressure field with that inside a high-speed transitional swept-wing boundary layer dominated by the z-type secondary crossflow mode,we found that the high-frequency signal originates from the Mack mode and evolves into the secondary crossflow instability.Siwei Dong Jianqiang Chen Xianxu Yuan Xi Chen Guoliang Xu 2020Advances in Aerodynamics2020,2,1:2

20Characterization of Compactness of Rust Layers on Weathering Steels by an Adsorption/Dehydration Test of Ethanol显示文摘A new method for evaluating the compactness of rust layers on steels has been proposed in the present study. The method includes adsorption and dehydration process of anhydrous ethanol. The protective ability of rust layers can be qualitatively reflected by the adsorption/dehydration rates. The specific surface area and porosity of rust layers can be calculated by a quantitative model. The results from the present method are consistent with electrochemical tests, N2 adsorption and X-ray diffraction analysis. The method characterizes the compactness of rust layers rather than that of corrosion products removed from the metal surfaces, which is generally practiced in classic N2 adsorption method. Furthermore, the method can reflect the compactness of inner rust layers, to which N2 adsorption is unavailable.
