A Chromosome-Level Genome Assembly of Garlic (Allium sativum) Provides Insights into Genome Evolution and Allicin Biosynthesis显示文摘Garlic,an economically important vegetable, spice, and medicinal crop, produces highly enlarged bulbs and unique organosulfur compounds. Here,we report a chromosome-level genome assembly for garlic, with a total size of approximately 16.24 Gb,as well as the annotation of 57561 predicted protein-coding genes, making garlic the first Allium species with a sequenced genome.Analysis of this garlic genome assembly reveals a recent burst of transposable elements, explaining the substantial expansion of the garlic genome. We examined the evolution of certain genes associated with the biosynthesis of allicin and inulin neoseries-type fructans, and provided new insights into the biosynthesis of these two compounds.Furthermore,a large-scale transcriptome was produced to characterize the expression patterns of garlic genes in different tissues and at various growth stages of enlarged bulbs. The reference genome and large-scale transcriptome data generated in this study provide valuable new resources for research on garlic biology and breeding. | Xiudong Sun Siyuan Zhu Ningyang Li Yi Cheng Jing Zhao Xuguang Qiao Li Lu Shiqi Liu Yanzhou Wang Chan Liu Benping Li Wu Guo Shuang Gao Zemao Yang Fu Li Zheng Zeng Qing Tang Yupeng Pan Mengjiao Guan Jian Zhao Xiaomi ng Lu Huanwe n Meng Zhenlin Han Chun she ng Gao Wenkai Jiang Xing Zhao Shilin Tian Jianguang Su Zhihui Cheng Touming Liu | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,9: | 14
Clustering in the Wireless Channel with a Power Weighted Statistical Mixture Model in Indoor Scenario显示文摘Cluster-based channel model is the main stream of fifth generation mobile communications, thus the accuracy of clustering algorithm is important. Traditional Gaussian mixture model (GMM) does not consider the power information which is important for the channel multipath clustering. In this paper, a normalized power weighted GMM (PGMM) is introduced to model the channel multipath components (MPCs). With MPC power as a weighted factor, the PGMM can fit the MPCs in accordance with the cluster-based channel models. Firstly, expectation maximization (EM) algorithm is employed to optimize the PGMM parameters. Then, to further increase the searching ability of EM and choose the optimal number of components without resort to cross-validation, the variational Bayesian (VB) inference is employed. Finally, 28 GHz indoor channel measurement data is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the PGMM clustering algorithm. | Yupeng Li Jianhua Zhang Pan Tang Lei Tian | 2019 | China Communications2019,16,7: | 3

Advancements in understanding mechanisms of hepatocellular carcinoma radiosensitivity:A comprehensive review显示文摘Primary liver cancer is a significant health problem worldwide.Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the main pathological type of primary liver cancer, accounting for 75%-85%of cases. In recent years, radiotherapy has become an emerging treatment for HCC and is effective for various stages of HCC.However, radiosensitivity of liver cancer cells has a significant effect on the efficacy of radiotherapy and is regulated by various factors. How to increase radiosensitivity and improve the therapeutic effects of radiotherapy require further exploration. This review summarizes the recent research progress on the mechanisms affecting sensitivity to radiotherapy, including epigenetics, transportation and metabolism, regulated cell death pathways, the microenvironment, and redox status,as well as the effect of nanoparticles on the radiosensitivity of liver cancer. It is expected to provide more effective strategies and methods for clinical treatment of liver cancer by radiotherapy. | Gaoyuan Yang Huamei Yan Yongchang Tang Feng Yuan Mingbo Cao Yupeng Ren Yuxuan Li Zhiwei He Xiaorui Su Zhicheng Yao Meihai Deng | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2023,35,3: | 1
Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ti–Ta Composites Prepared Through Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing显示文摘In this study, an innovative approach was used to fabricate Ti–Ta composite biomaterials through cold spray additive manufacturing followed by a diff usion treatment. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the composites were investigated in detail using field emission scanning electron microscopy, electron backscatter diff raction, 3D X-ray computed tomography, tensile test, nanohardness test and resonance vibration test. The obtained results indicated that the prepared composites have inhomogeneity in their microstructure and composition. A unique microstructure, composed of Ti-rich, Ta-rich and diff usion regions, was evolved in the composites due to incomplete diff usion between Ti and Ta splats. Further, Kirkendall pores were formed in the composites due to uneven diff usion of the two phases(of Ti and Ta) during high-temperature heat treatment. The prepared composites simultaneously showed low elastic modulus and high tensile strength which is required for a good biomaterial. Low elastic modulus was associated with the residual pores and the alloying eff ect of Ta in Ti, while high tensile strength was related to the solid solution strengthening eff ects. The obtained results indicated that the prepared Ti–Ta composites have a great potential to become a new candidate for biomedical applications. | Junrong Tang Naeem ul Haq Tariq Zhipo Zhao Mingxiao Guo Hanhui Liu Yupeng Ren Xinyu Cui Yanfang Shen Jiqiang Wang Tianying Xiong | 2022 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,9: | 1

Boron rings containing planar octacoordinate iron and cobalt显示文摘The boron rings containing planar octacoordinate transition metals, D8h FeB82-, CoB8- and CoB83+, C2v FeB8, D2h CoB8+ and CoB8, are optimized with all real vibrational frequencies at the B3LYP/6-311+G* level of the theory. The D8h FeB82- and CoB8- isomers are global minima, while D8h CoB83+ is only local minimum. The electronic structure character of these systems is revealed by natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis, showing that the boron rings containing planar octacoordinate transition metals have stability and aromaticity with six π electrons. The aromaticity is confirmed by nucleus independent chemical shifts (NICS) calculations. | WU QunYan TANG YuPeng ZHANG XiuHui | 2009 | Science China Chemistry2009,52,3: | 1
Simultaneous oxidation of Mn (Ⅱ) and As (Ⅲ) on cupric oxide (CuO) promotes As (Ⅲ) removal at circumneutral pH显示文摘Oxidation of Mn (Ⅱ) or As(Ⅲ) by molecular oxygen is slow at pH<9,while they can be catalytically oxidized in the presence of oxide minerals and then removed from contaminated water. However, the reaction mechanisms on simultaneous oxidation of Mn(Ⅱ) and As (Ⅲ)on oxide mineral surface and their accompanied removal efficiency remain unclear. This study compared Mn (Ⅱ) oxidation on four common metal oxides (γ-Al_(2)O_(3),CuO,α-Fe2O_(3)and ZnO) and investigated the simultaneous oxidation and removal of Mn (Ⅱ) and As (Ⅲ) through batch experiments and spectroscopic analyses.Among the tested oxides,CuO and α-Fe2O_(3)possess greater catalytic activity toward Mn (Ⅱ) oxidation.Oxidation and removal kinetics of Mn (Ⅱ) and As (Ⅲ) on CuO indicate that O_(2)is the terminal electron acceptor for Mn (Ⅱ) and As (Ⅲ) oxidation on CuO,and Mn (Ⅱ) acts as an electron shuttle to promote As (Ⅲ) oxidation and removal. The main oxidized product of Mn (Ⅱ) on CuO is high-valent MnO_(x)species.This newly formed Mn (Ⅲ) or Mn (IV) phases promote As (Ⅲ) oxidation on CuO at circumneutral pH 8 and is reduced to Mn (Ⅱ),which may be then released into solution. This study provides new insights into metal oxide-catalyzed oxidation of pollutants Mn (Ⅱ) and As (Ⅲ) and suggests that CuO should be considered as an efficient material to remediate Mn (Ⅱ) and As(Ⅲ)contamination. | Lingqun Zeng Biao Wan Qian Wang Yupeng Yan Yuanzhi Tang Xionghan Feng | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,3: | 0
| 12 | Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment.
