6Direct transformation of FGD gypsum to calcium sulfate hemihydrate whiskers:Preparation,simulations,and process analysis显示文摘Calcium sulfate hemihydrate(CSH) whiskers were synthesized by phase transition in CaCl_2 solution under atmospheric pressure.Analytical-grade calcium sulfate dihydrate(AR CSD) was used as the raw material for the synthesis of CSH whiskers,according to orthogonal experiments.The effects of reaction temperature,AR CSD content,H_2SO_4 content,and reaction time were investigated,and the crystallization conditions were optimized.The as-prepared CSH whiskers displayed a regular morphology and a highly uniform size,with an aspect ratio of 105.A simulation system was also established by blending various sulfates with AR CSD,to evaluate the effects of impurities in flue gas desulfurization(FGD) gypsum.The main aim was to prepare CSH whiskers directly from FGD gypsum,without any purification,using the optimized conditions.This is a facile potential alternative process for large-scale production of CSH whiskers using abundant FGD gypsum as source materials.Miao Miao Xin Feng Gangling Wang Shaomei Cao Wen Shi Liyi Shi 2015Particuology2015,13,2:31
7Terrestrial carbon sinks in China and around the world and their contribution to carbon neutrality显示文摘Enhancing the terrestrial ecosystem carbon sink(referred to as terrestrial C sink) is an important way to slow down the continuous increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) concentration and to achieve carbon neutrality target.To better understand the characteristics of terrestrial C sinks and their contribution to carbon neutrality,this review summarizes major progress in terrestrial C budget researches during the past decades,clarifies spatial patterns and drivers of terrestrial C sources and sinks in China and around the world,and examines the role of terrestrial C sinks in achieving carbon neutrality target.According to recent studies,the global terrestrial C sink has been increasing from a source of (-0.2±0.9) Pg C yr^(-1)(1 Pg=1015g)in the 1960s to a sink of (1.9±1.1) Pg C yr^(-1) in the 2010s.By synthesizing the published data,we estimate terrestrial C sink of 0.20–0.25 Pg C yr^(-1) in China during the past decades,and predict it to be 0.15–0.52 Pg C yr^(-1) by 2060.The terrestrial C sinks are mainly located in the mid-and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere,while tropical regions act as a weak C sink or source.The C balance differs much among ecosystem types:forest is the major C sink;shrubland,wetland and farmland soil act as C sinks;and whether the grassland functions as C sink or source remains unclear.Desert might be a C sink,but the magnitude and the associated mechanisms are still controversial.Elevated atmospheric CO_(2) concentration,nitrogen deposition,climate change,and land cover change are the main drivers of terrestrial C sinks,while other factors such as fires and aerosols would also affect ecosystem C balance.The driving factors of terrestrial C sink differ among regions.Elevated CO_(2) concentration and climate change are major drivers of the C sinks in North America and Europe,while afforestation and ecological restoration are additionally important forcing factors of terrestrial C sinks in China.For future studies,we recommend the necessity for intensive and long-term ecosystem C monitoring over broad geographic scale to improve terrestrial biosphere models for accurately evaluating terrestrial C budget and its dynamics under various climate change and policy scenarios.Yuanhe Yang Yue Shi Wenjuan Sun Jinfeng Chang Jianxiao Zhu Leiyi Chen Xin Wang Yanpei Guo Hongtu Zhang Lingfei Yu Shuqing Zhao Kang Xu Jiangling Zhu Haihua Shen Yuanyuan Wang Yunfeng Peng Xia Zhao Xiangping Wang Huifeng Hu Shiping Chen Mei Huang Xuefa Wen Shaopeng Wang Biao Zhu Shuli Niu Zhiyao Tang Lingli Liu Jingyun Fang 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:32
8Rapid separation and identification of multiple constituents in Danhong Injection by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled to electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry显示文摘To characterize and identify multiple constituents in Danhong injection(DHI), a fast ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled to electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry(UHPLC-ESI-QTOF/MS) method was established and validated in the present study. A total of 63 compounds, including 33 phenolic acids, 2 C-glycosyl quinochalcones, 6 flavonoid O-glycosides, 4 iridoid glycosides, 6 organic acids, 5 amino acids, and 3 nucleosides, were identified or tentatively characterized. 9Clinical effects and complications of TIPS for portal hypertension due to cirrhosis:A single center显示文摘AIM:To determine the clinical effects and complications of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS)for portal hypertension due to cirrhosis.METHODS:Two hundred and eighty patients with portal hypertension due to cirrhosis who underwent TIPS were retrospectively evaluated.Portal trunk pressure was measured before and after surgery.The changes in hemodynamics and the condition of the stent were assessed by ultrasound and the esophageal and fundic veins observed endoscopically.RESULTS:The success rate of TIPS was 99.3%.The portal trunk pressure was 26.8±3.6 cmH2O after surgery and 46.5±3.4 cmH2O before surgery(P<0.01).The velocity of blood flow in the portal vein increased.The internal diameters of the portal and splenic veins were reduced.The short-term hemostasis rate was100%.Esophageal varices disappeared completely in68%of patients and were obviously reduced in 32%.Varices of the stomach fundus disappeared completely in 80%and were obviously reduced in 20%of patients.Ascites disappeared in 62%,were markedly reduced in 24%,but were still apparent in 14%of patients.The total effective rate of ascites reduction was 86%.Hydrothorax completely disappeared in 100%of patients.The incidence of post-operative stent stenosis was 24%at 12 mo and 34%at 24 mo.The incidence of post-operative hepatic encephalopathy was 12%at3 mo,17%at 6 mo and 19%at 12 mo.The incidence of post-operative recurrent hemorrhage was 9%at 12mo,19%at 24 mo and 35%at 36 mo.The cumulative survival rate was 86%at 12 mo,81%at 24 mo,75%at 36 mo,57%at 48 mo and 45%at 60 mo.CONCLUSION:TIPS can effectively lower portal hypertension due to cirrhosis.It is significantly effective for hemorrhage of the digestive tract due to rupture of esophageal and fundic veins and for ascites and hydrothorax caused by portal hypertension.Jian-Ping Qin Ming-De Jiang Wen Tang Xiao-Ling Wu Xin Yao Wei-Zheng Zeng Hui Xu Qian-Wen He Ming Gu 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,44:25
10Paleoproterozoic reworking of ancient crust in the Cathaysia Block,South China:Evidence from zircon trace elements,U-Pb and Lu-Hf isotopes显示文摘A combined study of zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating, trace elements and Hf isotope was carried out for gneissic granite from the Sanzhishu area in Jingning, SW Zhejiang Province. Nearly all the zircons separated from the granite exhibited oscillatory zoning and high Th/U ratios (>0.1). The REE profile showed a pronounced positive Ce anomaly, negative Eu anomaly and an enrichment of HREE, which are typical characteristics of magmatic zircon. Thirteen concordant or nearly concordant analytical data yielded a weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 1860±13 Ma (MSWD=0.084), representing the formation age of the granite. The magmatic zircons had negative εHf(t) values of -15.6 to -10.0 and two-stage Hf model ages of 3.1 to 3.4 Ga, indicating that the granites were formed by reworking of ancient crust. The major- and trace-element data indicate that the gneissic granites are metaluminous high-K calc-alkaline rocks and exhibit the same geochemical characteristics as aluminous A-type granites, implying the emplacement of the granite in a post-orogenic extensional tectonic setting. 12Isolation and characterization of dengue virus serotype 2 from the large dengue outbreak in Guangdong, China in 2014显示文摘Dengue has been well recognized as a global public health threat,but only sporadic epidemics and imported cases were reported in recent decades in China.Since July 2014,an unexpected large dengue outbreak has occurred in Guangdong province,China,resulting in more than 40000 patients including six deaths.To clarify and characterize the causative agent of this outbreak,the acute phase serum from a patient diagnosed with severe dengue was subjected to virus isolation and high-throughput sequencing(HTS).Traditional real-time RT-PCR and HTS with Ion Torrent PGM detected the presence of dengue virus serotype 2(DENV-2).A clinical DENV-2 isolate GZ05/2014 was obtained by culturing the patient serum in mosquito C6/36 cells.The complete genome of GZ05/2014 was determined and deposited in Gen Bank under the access number KP012546.Phylogenetic analysis based on the complete envelope gene showed that the newly DENV-2 isolate belonged to Cosmopolitan genotype and clustered closely with other Guangdong strains isolated in the past decade.No amino acid mutations that are obviously known to increase virulence or replication were identified throughout the genome of GZ05/2014.The high homology of Guangdong DENV-2 strains indicated the possibility of establishment of local DENV-2 circulation in Guangdong,China.These results help clarify the origin of this epidemic and predict the future status of dengue in China.ZHAO Hui ZHAO Ling Zhai JIANG Tao LI Xiao Feng FAN Hang HONG Wen Xin ZHANG Yu ZHU Qin YE Qing TONG Yi Gang CAO Wu Chun ZHANG Fu Chun QIN Cheng Feng 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,12:21

14Overexpression of p27^(KIP1)induced cell cycle arrest in G_1 phase and subsequent apoptosis in HCC-9204 cell line显示文摘AIM We have previously reported that inducibleover-expression of Bak may prolong cell cycle inG1 phase and lead to apoptosis in HCC-9204 cells.This study is to investigate whether p27KIP1playsan important role in this process.METHODS In order to elucidate the exactfunction of p27KIP1in this process,a zinc induciblep27KIP1stable transfectant and transient p27KIP1-GFP fusion transfectant were constructed.Theeffects of inducible,p27KIP1on cell growth,cellcycle arrest and apoptosis were examined in themock,control pMD vector,and pMD-KIP1transfected HCC-9204 cells.RESULTS This p27KIP1-GFP transfectant maytransiently express the fusion gene.The cellgrowth was reduced by 35% at 48 h of p27KIP1induction with zinc treatment as determined bytrypan blue exclusion assay.These differencesremained the same after 72 h of p27KIP1expression,p27KIP1caused cell cycle arrest after24 h of induction,with 40% increase in G1population.Prolonged p27KIP1expression in thiscell line induced apoptotic cell death reflected byTUNEL assay.Fourty-eight h and 72 h of p27KIP1expression showed a characteristic DNA ladder onagarose gel electrophoresis. 17Agriculture Green Development: a model for China and the world显示文摘Realizing sustainable development has become a global priority.This holds,in particular,for agriculture.Recently,the United Nations launched the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs),and the Nineteenth National People’s Congress has delivered a national strategy for sustainable development in China—realizing green development.The overall objective of Agriculture Green Development(AGD)is to coordinate'green'with'development'to realize the transformation of current agriculture with high resource consumption and high environmental costs into a green agriculture and countryside with high productivity,high resource use efficiency and low environmental impact.This is a formidable task,requiring joint efforts of government,farmers,industry,educators and researchers.The innovative concept for AGD will focus on reconstructing the whole crop-animal production and food production-consumption system,with the emphasis on high thresholds for environmental standards and food quality as well as enhanced human well-being.This paper addresses the significance,challenges,framework,pathways and potential solutions for realizing AGD in China,and highlights the potential changes that will lead to a more sustainable agriculture in the future.Proposals include interdisciplinary innovations,whole food chain improvement and regional solutions.The implementation of AGD in China will provide important implications for the countries in developmental transition,and contribute to global sustainable development.Jianbo SHEN Qichao ZHU Xiaoqiang JIAO Hao YING Hongliang WANG Xin WEN Wen XU Tingyu LI Wenfeng CONG Xuejun LIU Yong HOU Zhenling CUI Oene OENEMA William JDAVIES Fusuo ZHANG 2020Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2020,7,1:18
18Effectiveness of Different Waist Circumference Cut-off Values in Predicting Metabolic Syndrome Prevalence and Risk Factors in Adults in China显示文摘Objective To study the effectiveness of waist circumference cut-off values in predicting the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MetS) and risk factors in adults in China. Methods A cross-sectional survey was condcuted in 14 provinces(autonomous region, municipality) in China. A total of 47 325 adults aged ≥20 years were selected by multistage stratified sampling, and questionnaire survey and physical and clinical examination were conducted among them. MetS was defined according to the International Diabetes Federation(IDF) criteria and modified IDF criteria.Results The age-standardized prevalence of MetS was 24.2%(22.1% in men and 25.8% in women) and 19.5%(22.1% in men and 18.0% in women) according to the IDF criteria and modified IDF criteria respectively. The age-standardized prevalence of pre-MetS was 8.1%(8.6% in men and 7.8% in women) according to the modified IDF criteria. The prevalence of MetS was higher in urban residents than rural residents and in northern China residents than in southern China residents. The prevalence of central obesity was about 30% in both men and women according to the ethnicity-specific cut-off values of waist circumference for central obesity(90 cm for men and 85 cm for women). Multivariate regression analysis revealed no significant difference in risk factors between the two MetS definitions. 20Vision,application scenarios,and key technology trends for 6G mobile communications显示文摘With the global commercialization of the fifth-generation(5G)network,many countries,including China,USA,European countries,Japan,and Korea,have started exploring 6G mobile communication network,following the tradition of“planning the next while commercializing one generation”.Currently,studies on 6G networks are at the infancy stage.Research on the vision and requirements for 6G is still ongoing,and the industry is yet to clarify the key enabling technologies for 6G.However,6G will certainly build on the success of 5G.Therefore,developing high-quality 5G networks and seamlessly integrating 5G with verticals are the priorities before 2030,when 6G is projected to be commercialized.Also,global 5G standards will keep evolving to better support vertical applications.As a milestone,the Third-Generation Partnership Project(3GPP)published Release 16 in July 2020,which continuously enhanced the capabilities of mobile broadband service based on Release 15 and realized the support for low-delay and high-reliability applications,such as Internet of Vehicles and industrial Internet.Currently,3GPP is working on Releases 17 and 18,focusing on meeting the demands of medium-and high-data-rate machine communication with low-cost and high-precision positioning,which will be published in June 2022.Thus,6G networks will further expand the application fields and scope of the Internet of Things to accommodate those services and applications that are beyond the capabilities of 5G networks.Herein,we present our vision,application scenarios,and key technological trends for 6G networks.Furthermore,we propose several future research opportunities in 6G networks with regard to industrialization and standardization.Zhiqin WANG Ying DU Kejun WEI Kaifeng HAN Xiaoyan XU Guiming WEI Wen TONG Peiying ZHU Jianglei MA Jun WANG Guangjian WANG Xueqiang YAN Jiying XIANG He HUANG Ruyue LI Xinhui WANG Yingmin WANG Shaohui SUN Shiqiang SUO Qiubin GAO Xin SU 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,5:17
