| 1 | Community structure and elevational diversity patterns of soil Acidobacteria显示文摘Acidobacteria is one of the most dominant and abundant phyla in soil,and was believed to have a wide range of metabolic and genetic functions. Relatively little is known about its community structure and elevational diversity patterns. We selected four elevation gradients from 1000 to 2800 m with typical vegetation types of the northern slope of Shennongjia Mountain in central China. The vegetation types were evergreen broadleaved forest,deciduous broadleaved forest,coniferous forest and sub-alpine shrubs. We analyzed the soil acidobacterial community composition,elevational patterns and the relationship between Acidobacteria subdivisions and soil enzyme activities by using the 16 S rRNA meta-sequencing technique and multivariate statistical analysis. The result found that 19 known subdivisions as well as an unclassified phylotype were presented in these forest sites,and Subdivision 6 has the highest number of detectable operational taxonomic units(OTUs). A significant single peak distribution pattern(P < 0.05) between the OTU number and the elevation was observed. The Jaccard and Bray–Curtis index analysis showed that the soil Acidobacteria compositional similarity significantly decreased(P < 0.01) with the increase in elevation distance. Mantel test analysis showed the most of the soil Acidobacteria subdivisions had the significant relationship(P < 0.01) with different soil enzymes. Therefore,soil Acidobacteria may be involved in different ecosystem functions in global elemental cycles. | 2 | A multicenter,retrospective.epidemiologic survey of the clinical features and management of bone metastatic disease in China显示文摘Background:Bone metastases are common in patients with advanced cancer.Bisphosphonates(BPs) could prevent or delay the development of skeleton-related events(SREs).The present study aimed to identify the clinical features of and treatment strategies for Chinese patients with bone metastases.Methods:Consecutive cancer patients who had bone metastases and received BP treatment were enrolled.A questionnaire was developed to collect the patients' clinical data,as well as information on the diagnosis and management of bone metastases.Physicians' awareness of the guidelines and knowledge of the application of BP were also assessed.Results:A total of 3223 patients with lung cancer(36.5%),breast cancer(30.9%),prostate cancer(8.5%),and gastrointestinal cancer(5.7%) were included in this study.The sites of bone metastases were the thoracic spine(56.0%),lumbar spine(47.1%),ribs(32.6%),and pelvis(23.2%).The SRE frequency was the highest in patients with multiple myeloma(36.6%),followed by those with lung cancer(25.9%),breast cancer(20.2%),prostate cancer(18.2%),and gastrointestinal cancer(17.3%).Irradiation to the bone was the most frequent SRE(58%in lung cancer patients,45%in breast cancer patients,and 48%in prostate cancer patients).Our survey also showed that 45.5%of patients received BP within 3 months after their diagnosis of bone metastases,whereas the remaining 54.5%of patients did not receive BP treatment until at least 3 months after their diagnosis of bone metastases.The SRE frequency in the former group was significantly lower than that in the latter group(4.0%vs.42.3%,P < 0.05).In patients with more than 6 months of continuous BP treatment,the mean time to the first SRE was significantly longer than that in patients with less than 6 months of continuous BP treatment(7.2 vs.3.4 months,P < 0.05).In addition,12.2%of the physicians were not aware of the efficacy of BP in preventing and delaying SRE.Only half(52.3%) of the physicians agreed that the BP treatment should persist for at least 6 months unless it was intolerable.Conclusions:Our study suggested that prompt and persistent BP treatment was associated with a reduced risk of SREs.However,our survey also revealed that the proper application of BP was not as common as expected in China. | Yunpeng Yang Yuxiang Ma Jin Sheng Yan Huang Yuanyuan Zhao Wenfeng Fang Shaodong Hong Ying Tian Cong Xue Li Zhang | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Cancer2016,35,5: | 13 |

| 4 | Sex Differences in Diagnosis and Clinical Phenotypes of Chinese Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder显示文摘The aim of this study was to explore the differences between boys and girls in the diagnosis and clinical phenotypes of autism spectrum disorder(ASD) in China's mainland. Children diagnosed with ASD(n = 1064, 228 females) were retrospectively included in the analysis. All children were assessed using the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised(ADI-R) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule(ADOS). The results showed that girls scored significantly higher in ADI-R socioemotional reciprocity than boys, and also scored lower in ADI-R and ADOS restricted and repetitive behaviors(RRBs). Meanwhile, the proportions of girls who satisfied the diagnostic cut-off scores in the ADI-R RRBs domain were lower than in boys(P \ 0.05). Our results indicated that girls with ASD show greater socio-emotional reciprocity than boys. Girls also tended to show fewer RRBs than boys, and the type of RRBs in girls differ from those in boys. | 7 | Synthesis of monodispersed Fe3O4@C core/shell nanoparticles显示文摘We report a facile method to synthesize dispersed Fe_3O_4@C nanoparticles(NPs). Fe_3O_4 NPs were firstly prepared via the high temperature diol thermal decomposition method. Fe_3O_4@C NPs were fabricated using glucose as a carbon source by hydrothermal process. The obtained products were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM) and Raman spectra. The results indicate that the original shapes and magnetic property of Fe_3O_4 NPs can be well preserved. The magnetic particles are well dispersed in the carbon matrix. This strategy would provide an efficient approach for existing applications in Li-ion batteries and drug delivery. | 9 | Efficacy of the hypoxia-activated prodrug evofosfamide (TH-302) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Background:Tumor hypoxia is considered an important factor in metastasis and disease relapse.Evofosfamide is a hypoxia-activated prodrug that selectively targets the hypoxic regions of solid tumors.As hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α)is overexpressed in nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)tissues,we performed the present study to evaluate the efficacy profile of evofosfamide in NPC.Methods:We evaluated the efficacy of evofosfamide as a single agent or combined with cisplatin(DDP)in the NPC cell lines CNE-2,HONE-1 and HNE-1,and in nude mouse xenograft tumor models.Results:Evofosfamide exhibited hypoxia-selective cytotoxicity in NPC cell lines,with 50%inhibition concentration(IC50)values of 8.33±0.75,7.62±0.67,and 0.31±0.07μmol/L under hypoxia in CNE-2,HONE-1 and HNE-1 cells,respectively.The sensitization ranged from ninefold to greater than 300-fold under hypoxia compared with normoxia controls.The combination of evofosfamide with DDP had a synergistic effect on cytotoxicity in the NPC cell lines by combination index values assessment.Cell cycle G2 phase was arrested after treated with 0.05μmol/L evofosfamide under hypoxia.Histone H2AX phosphorylation(γH2AX)(a marker of DNA damage)expression increased while HIF-1αexpression suppressed after evofosfamide treatment under hypoxic conditions.In the HNE-1 NPC xenograft models,evofosfamide exhibited antitumor activity both as a single agent and combined with DDP.Hypoxic regions in xeno-graft tissue were reduced after both evofosfamide monotherapy and combined therapy with DDP.Conclusions:Our results present preclinical evidence for targeting the selective hypoxic portion of NPC by evofosfa-mide as a single agent and combined with DDP and provide rationale for the potential clinical application of evofosfa-mide for the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. | Yan Huang Ying Tian Yuanyuan Zhao Cong Xue Jianhua Zhan Lin Liu Xiaobo He Li Zhang | 2018 | Cancer Communications2018,38,1: | 1 |

| 19 | Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment.
