2Preparation of natural isovaleraldehyde by the Maillard reaction显示文摘Isovaleraldehyde possesses malty,fruity,cocoa-like odor and is widely used in fruit,chocolate,coffee flavors.The preparation of natural isovaleraldehyde by the Maillard model reaction was studied in this paper.The effects of the ratio of D-glucose/L-leucine, reaction temperature and pH value on the yield of isovaleraldehyde were explored.The optimum conditions were as follows: n(D-glucose):n(L-leucine)=4,temperature 150℃,reaction time 3 h,pH 5.The highest yield of isovaleraldehyde obtained was about 32%.Hong Yu Tian Jie Zhang Bao Guo Sun Ming Quan Huang Jian Rong Li Xiao Xiang Han 2007Chinese Chemical Letters2007,18,9:5

6Nerve bundle formation during the promotion of peripheral nerve regeneration:collagenⅥ-neural cell adhesion molecule 1 interaction显示文摘The formation of nerve bundles,which is partially regulated by neural cell adhesion molecule 1(NCAM1),is important for neural network organization during peripheral nerve regeneration.However,little is known about how the extracellular matrix(ECM)microenvironment affects this process.Here,we seeded dorsal root ganglion tissue blocks on different ECM substrates of peripheral nerve ECM-derived matrixgel,Matrigel,laminin 521,collagen I,and collagen IV,and observed well-aligned axon bundles growing in the peripheral nerve ECM-derived environment.We confirmed that NCAM1 is necessary but not sufficient to trigger this phenomenon.A protein interaction assay identified collagen VI as an extracellular partner of NCAM1 in the regulation of axonal fasciculation.Collagen VI interacted with NCAM1 by directly binding to the FNIII domain,thereby increasing the stability of NCAM1 at the axolemma.Our in vivo experiments on a rat sciatic nerve defect model also demonstrated orderly nerve bundle regeneration with improved projection accuracy and functional recovery after treatment with 10 mg/m L Matrigel and 20μg/m L collagen VI.These findings suggest that the collagen VI-NCAM1 pathway plays a regulatory role in nerve bundle formation.This study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Guangzhou Medical University(approval No.GY2019048)on April 30,2019.Jia-Hui Sun Ming Huang Zhou Fang Tian-Xiao Li Ting-Ting Wu Yi Chen Da-Ping Quan Ying-Ying Xu Yu-Ming Wang Yi Yang Jian-Long Zou 2022Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,5:2

8Decellularized Disc Hydrogels for hBMSCs tissue-specific differentiation and tissue regeneration显示文摘Tissue specificity,a key factor in the decellularized tissue matrix(DTM),has shown bioactive functionalities in tuning cell fate-e.g.,the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells.Notably,cell fate is also determined by the living microenvironment,including material composition and spatial characteristics.Herein,two neighboring tissues within intervertebral discs,the nucleus pulposus(NP)and annulus fibrosus(AF),were carefully processed into DTM hydrogels(abbreviated DNP-G and DAF-G,respectively)to determine the tissue-specific effects on stem cell fate,such as specific components and different culturing methods,as well as in vivo regeneration.Distinct differences in their protein compositions were identified by proteomic analysis.Interestingly,the fate of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(hBMSCs)also responds to both culturing methods and composition.Generally,hBMSCs cultured with DNP-G(3D)differentiated into NP-like cells,while hBMSCs cultured with DAF-G(2D)underwent AF-like differentiation,indicating a close correlation with the native microenvironments of NP and AF cells,respectively.Furthermore,we found that the integrin-mediated RhoA/LATS/YAP1 signaling pathway was activated in DAF-G(2D)-induced AF-specific differentiation.Additionally,the activation of YAP1 determined the tendency of NP-or AF-specific differentiation and played opposite regulatory effects.Finally,DNP-G and DAF-G specifically promoted tissue regeneration in NP degeneration and AF defect rat models,respectively.In conclusion,DNP-G and DAF-G can specifically determine the fate of stem cells through the integrin-mediated RhoA/LATS/YAP1 signaling pathway,and this tissue specificity is both compositional and spatial,supporting the utilization of tissue-specific DTM in advanced treatments of intervertebral disc degeneration.Yizhong Peng Xiangcheng Qing Hui Lin Donghua Huang Jinye Li Shuo Tian Sheng Liu Xiao Lv Kaige Ma Rui Li Zilong Rao Ying Bai Songfeng Chen Ming Lei Daping Quan Zengwu Shao 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,10:1

12Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND 14Development and evaluation of a double-plane detector system for multi-radionuclide imaging显示文摘Purpose To develop a multi-radionuclide imaging system with a flexible and compact structure that has a potential for breast and other applications,and to evaluate its performances under both positron emission tomography and single photon emission imaging conditions.Methods The plane detector was composed of 5×6 blocks with an effective detection area of 168.6 mm×202.4 mm.Each block consisted of a 16×16 LYSO array.The pixel size is 1.9 mm×1.9 mm×15 mm.An 8×8 silicon photomultiplier(SiPM)array with SensL’s C-30035 sensors was coupled to the LYSO array,separated by a 1.5-mm-thick glass.To minimize the influence of temperature on the detector,the active part of the front-end electronics was kept away from SiPMs.Self-designed data acquisition system and reconstruction software were utilized to evaluate the performances of the whole system.Results All the blocks had excellent pixels identification.An average energy resolution of 11.39%for 511 keV and 21.37%for 140 keV was obtained.In the PET mode,the best spatial resolution was better than 2 mm and the system sensitivity reached up to 11.05%at 60 mm distance.In the single photon emission imaging mode,a spatial resolution better than 3 mm was obtained.Conclusion The results indicated that the system has a good overall performance and can be used in breast imaging and other general PET applications.It also has the potential to be used for single photon emission imaging.In pursuit of a better spatial resolution of cross-plane,PSF and DOI technology will be developed in the next work.For specific applications,further improvement of the detector system such as performance evaluation with phantoms will be carried out.Zhen‑Rui Lu Xian‑Chao Huang Zhi‑Ming Zhang Ying‑Jie Wang Da‑Quan Cao Wei Zhou Xiao‑Yue Gu Xiao‑li Sun Pei Chai Hao‑Hui Tang Dao‑Wu Li Lin Li Chuang‑Xin Ma Long Wei 2019Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2019,3,3:0

19Chylothorax following posterior low lumbar fusion surgery:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Postoperative chylothorax is usually regarded as a complication associated with cardiothoracic surgery;however,it is one of the rare complications in orthopedic surgery.This case report describes a female patient who developed chylothorax after a successful L4-S1 transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion surgery.The etiology,diagnosis,and treatment were analyzed and discussed.CASE SUMMARY A 50-year-old woman was admitted with repeated back and leg pain.She was diagnosed with L4 degenerative spondylolisthesis,L4/L5 and L5/S1 intervertebral disc herniation and L5 instability,and underwent successful posterior L4-S1 instrumentation and fusion surgery.Unfortunately,thoracic effusion was identified 2 d after operation.The thoracic effusion was finally confirmed to be chylous based on twice positive chyle qualitative tests.The patient was discharged after 12-d persisting drainage,3-d total parenteral nutrition and fasting,and other supportive treatments.No recurring symptoms were observed within 12 mo follow-up.CONCLUSION Differential diagnosis is crucial for unusual thoracic effusion.Comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of chylothorax are necessary.Thorough intraoperative protection to relieve high thoracic pressure caused by the prone position is important.Xian-Ming Huang Ming Luo Li-Yu Ran Xuan-He You Di-Wei Wu Shi-Shu Huang Quan Gong 2021World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,22:0
