Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event. | TiPei Li ShaoLin Xiong ShuangNan Zhang FangJun Lu LiMing Song XueLei Cao Zhi Chang Gang Chen Li Chen TianXiang Chen Yong Chen YiBao Chen YuPeng Chen Wei Cui WeiWei Cui JingKang Deng YongWei Dong YuanYuan Du MinXue Fu GuanHua Gao He Gao Min Gao MingYu Ge YuDong Gu Ju Guan ChengCheng Guo DaWei Han Wei Hu Yue Huang Jia Huo ShuMei Jia LuHua Jiang WeiChun Jiang Jing Jin YongJie Jin Bing Li ChengKui Li Gang Li MaoShun Li Wei Li Xian Li XiaoBo Li XuFang Li YanGuo Li ZiJian Li ZhengWei Li XiaoHua Liang JinYuan Liao CongZhan Liu GuoQing Liu HongWei Liu ShaoZhen Liu XiaoJing Liu Yuan Liu YiNong Liu Bo Lu XueFeng Lu Tao Luo Xiang Ma Bin Meng Yi Nang JianYin Nie Ge OU JinLu Qu Na Sai Liang Sun Yin Tan Lian Tao WenHui Tao YouLi Tuo GuoFeng Wang HuanYu Wang Juan Wang WenShuai Wang YuSa Wang XiangYang Wen BoBing WU Mei Wu GuangCheng Xiao He Xu YuPeng Xu LinLi Yan JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang AiMei Zhang ChunLei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang HongMei Zhang Juan Zhang Qiang Zhang Shu Zhang Tong Zhang Wei Zhang WanChang Zhang WenZhao Zhang Yi Zhang Yue Zhang YiFei Zhang YongJie Zhang Zhao Zhang ZiLiang Zhang HaiSheng Zhao JianLing Zhao XiaoFan Zhao ShiJie Zheng Yue Zhu YuXuan Zhu ChangLin Zou | 2018 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,3: | 12
The High Energy X-ray telescope (HE) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Insight-Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope(Insight-HXMT) is a broadband X-ray and γ-ray(1-3000 ke V) astronomy satellite. One of its three main telescopes is the High Energy X-ray telescope(HE). The main detector plane of HE comprises 18 Na I(Tl)/Cs I(Na) phoswich detectors, where Na I(Tl) is used as the primary detector to measure ~ 20-250 ke V photons incident from the field of view(FOV) defined by collimators, and Cs I(Na) is used as the active shielding detector to Na I(Tl) by pulse shape discrimination. Additionally, Cs I(Na) is used as an omnidirectional γ-ray monitor. The HE collimators have a diverse FOV,i.e. 1.1°×5.7°(15 units), 5.7°×5.7°(2 units), and blocked(1 unit). Therefore, the combined FOV of HE is approximately5.7°×5.7°. Each HE detector has a diameter of 190 mm resulting in a total geometrical area of approximately 5100 cm2, and the energy resolution is ~15% at 60 ke V. For each recorded X-ray event by HE, the timing accuracy is less than 10 μs and the deadtime is less than 10 μs. HE is used for observing spectra and temporal variability of X-ray sources in the 20-250 ke V band either by pointing observations for known sources or scanning observations to unveil new sources. Additionally, HE is used for monitoring the γ-ray burst in 0.2-3 Me V band. This paper not only presents the design and performance of HE instruments but also reports results of the on-ground calibration experiments. | CongZhan Liu YiFei Zhang XuFang Li XueFeng Lu Zhi Chang ZhengWei Li AiMei Zhang YongJie Jin HuiMing Yu Zhao Zhang MinXue Fu YiBao Chen JianFeng Ji YuPeng Xu JingKang Deng RenCheng Shang GuoQing Liu FangJun Lu ShuangNan Zhang YongWei Dong TiPei Li Mei Wu YanGuo Li HuanYu Wang BoBing Wu YongJie Zhang Zhi Zhang ShaoLin Xiong Yuan Liu Shu Zhang HongWei Liu YiJung Yang Fan Zhang | 2020 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,4: | 9
Hepatopancreatoduodenectomy for advanced biliary malignancies显示文摘Background:Hepatopancreatoduodenectomy(HPD)has been considered the only curative treatment for metastatic cholangiocarcinoma and some locally advanced gallbladder cancers(GBCs).However,HPD has not yet been included in treatment guidelines as a standard surgical procedure in consideration of its morbidity and mortality rates. The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of HPD in treating biliary malignancies. Methods:The medical records of 57 patients with advanced biliary cancer undergoing HPD from January 2009 to December 2019 were retrospectively retrieved.A case-control analysis was conducted at our department.Patients with advanced GBC who underwent HPD(HPD-GBC group)were compared with a control group(None-HPD-GBC group).Baseline characteristics, preoperative treatments, tumor pathologic features, operative results, and prognosis were assessed. Results:Thirteen patients with cholangiocarcinoma and 44 patients with GBC underwent HPD at our department.Significant postoperative complications(grade III or greater)and postoperative pancreatic fistula were observed in 24(42.1%)and 15(26.3%)patients,respectively.One postoperative death occurred in the present study.Overall survival(OS)was longer in patients with advanced cholangiocarcinoma than in those with GBC(median survival time[MST],31 months vs.11 months;P<0.001).In the subgroup analysis of patients with advanced GBC,multivariate analysis demonstrated that T4 stage tumors(P=0.012),N2 tumors(P=0.001),and positive margin status(P=0.004)were independently associated with poorer OS.Patients with either one or more prognostic factors exhibited a shorter MST than patients without those prognostic factors(P<0.001).Conclusion:HPD could be performed with a relatively low mortality rate and an acceptable morbidity rate in an experienced highvolume center. For patients with advanced GBC without an N2 or T4 tumor,HPD can be a preferable treatment option. | Xiangsong Wu Maolan Li Wenguang Wu Xu’an Wang Huaifeng Li Runfa Bao Yijun Shu Jun Shen Jun Gu Xuefeng Wang Wei Gong Shuyou Peng Yingbin Liu | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,23: | 3

Science with the 2.5-meter Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST)显示文摘The Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST) is a dedicated photometric surveying facility being built jointly by University of Science and Technology of China(USTC) and the Purple Mountain Observatory(PMO). It is equipped with a 2.5-meter diameter primary mirror, an active optics system, and a mosaic CCD camera with 0.73 gigapixels on the primary focal plane for highquality image capture over a 6.5-square-degree field of view. The installation of WFST near the summit of Saishiteng mountain in the Lenghu region is scheduled in summer of 2023, and the operation is planned to start three months later. WFST will scan the northern sky in four optical bands(u, g, r and i) at cadences from hourly/daily in the deep high-cadence survey(DHS) program, to semi-weekly in the wide field survey(WFS) program. During a photometric night, a nominal 30 s exposure in the WFS program will reach a depth of 22.27, 23.32, 22.84, and 22.31(AB magnitudes) in these four bands, respectively, allowing for the detection of a tremendous amount of transients in the low-z universe and a systematic investigation of the variability of Galactic and extragalactic objects. In the DHS program, intranight 90 s exposures as deep as 23(u) and 24 mag(g), in combination with target of opportunity follow-ups, will provide a unique opportunity to explore energetic transients in demand for high sensitivities, including the electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave events, supernovae within a few hours of their explosions, tidal disruption events and fast, luminous optical transients even beyond redshift of unity. In addition, the final 6-year co-added images, anticipated to reach g■25.8 mag in WFS or 1.5 mags deeper in DHS, will be of fundamental importance to general Galactic and extragalactic science. The highly uniform legacy surveys of WFST will serve as an indispensable complement to those of the Vera C. Rubin Observatory's Legacy Survey of Space and Time(LSST) that monitors the southern sky. | Tinggui Wang Guilin Liu Zhenyi Cai Jinjun Geng Min Fang Haoning He Ji-an Jiang Ning Jiang Xu Kong Bin Li Ye Li Wentao Luo Zhizheng Pan Xuefeng Wu Ji Yang Jiming Yu Xianzhong Zheng Qingfeng Zhu Yi-Fu Cai Yuanyuan Chen Zhiwei Chen Zigao Dai Lulu Fan Yizhong Fan Wenjuan Fang Zhicheng He Lei Hu Maokai Hu Zhiping Jin Zhibo Jiang Guoliang Li Fan Li Xuzhi Li Runduo Liang Zheyu Lin Qingzhong Liu Wenhao Liu Zhengyan Liu Wei Liu Yao Liu Zheng Lou Han Qu Zhenfeng Sheng Jianchun Shi Yiping Shu Zhenbo Su Tianrui Sun Hongchi Wang Huiyuan Wang Jian Wang Junxian Wang Daming Wei Junjie Wei Yongquan Xue Jingzhi Yan Chao Yang Ye Yuan Yefei Yuan Hongxin Zhang Miaomiao Zhang Haibin Zhao Wen Zhao | 2023 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,10: | 1

Correlation and Pathway Analysis of the Carbon,Nitrogen, and Phosphorus in Soil-Microorganism-Plant with Main Quality Components of Tea(Camellia sinensis)显示文摘The contents of carbon(C),nitrogen(N),and phosphorus(P)in soil-microorganisms-plant significantly affect tea quality by altering the main quality components of tea, such as tea polyphenols, amino acids, and caffeine. However, few studies have quantified the effects of these factors on the main quality components of tea.The study aimed to explore the interactions of C,N,and P in soil-microorganisms-plants and the effects of these factors on the main quality components of tea by using the path analysis method. The results indicated that(1)The contents of C,N,and P in soil, microorganisms, and tea plants were highly correlated and collinear, and showed significant correlations with the main quality components of tea.(2)Optimal regression equations were established to esti-mate tea polyphenol, amino acid, catechin, caffeine, and water extract content based on C,N,and P contents in soil, microorganisms, and tea plants(R^(2)=0.923,0.726,0.954,0.848,and 0.883,respectively).(3)Pathway analysis showed that microbial biomass phosphorus(MBP),root phosphorus, branch nitrogen, and microbial biomass carbon(MBC)were the largest direct impact factors on tea polyphenol, catechin, water extracts, amino acid, and caffeine content, respectively.Leaf carbon, root phosphorus, and leaf nitrogen were the largest indirect impact factors on tea polyphenol, catechin, and water extract content, respectively.Leaf carbon indirectly affected tea polyphenol content mainly by altering MBP content.Root phosphorus indirectly affected catechin content mainly by altering soil organic carbon content.Leaf nitrogen indirectly affected water extract content mainly by altering branch nitrogen content. The research results provide the scientific basis for reasonable fertilization in tea gardens and tea quality improvement. | Chun Mao Ji He Xuefeng Wen Yangzhou Xiang Jihong Feng Yingge Shu | 2024 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2024,93,3: | 0
Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 13 | Popcorning-type cracking failure in thermohyperelastic packaging materials in the presence of “wet” and “dry” cavities显示文摘Thermal cracking occurs in the plastic packaging materials due to the presence of moisturized micro-cavities in the material. The moisture resident in the micro-cavities gives rise to the internal vapor pressure that drives the thermal expansion of micro-cavities as temperature rises. The plastic packaging materials are considered a class of thermo-hyperelastic materials, thus allowing the micro-cavities to thermally expand to the substantial extent before the cracking failure. The micro-cavities can be moisture-abundant(i.e.,wet) or substantially dry when cracking occurs.Cracking appears to be almost certain in the presence of wet cavities. The possibility of cracking in dry cavities turns to be two-sided:when the initial volume fraction of the micro-cavities is relatively small, cracking cannot occur in the dry cavities regardless of the phase transition temperature;when the initial cavity volume fraction is relatively large, cracking tends to occur in the dry cavities especially when the phase transition temperature is large.Because of the two-sided cracking possibility, the dry-cavity cracking mode presents a scenario that might reveal the mechanism of popcorning-type cracking failure in plastic packaging materials. | LI ZhiGang SHU XueFeng | 2013 | Science China Chemistry2013,56,3: | 0
Observatory science with eXTP显示文摘In this White Paper we present the potential of the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for studies related to Observatory Science targets. These include flaring stars, supernova remnants, accreting white dwarfs, low and high mass X-ray binaries, radio quiet and radio loud active galactic nuclei, tidal disruption events, and gamma-ray bursts. eXTP will be excellently suited to study one common aspect of these objects: their often transient nature. Developed by an international Consortium led by the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Science, the eXTP mission is expected to be launched in the mid 2020s. | Jean J.M.in 't Zand Enrico Bozzo JinLu Qu Xiang-Dong Li Lorenzo Amati Yang Chen Immacolata Donnarumma Victor Doroshenko Stephen A.Drake Margarita Hernanz Peter A.Jenke Thomas J.Maccarone Simin Mahmoodifar Domitilla de Martino Alessandra De Rosa Elena M.Rossi Antonia Rowlinson Gloria Sala Giulia Stratta Thomas M.Tauris Joern Wilms XueFeng Wu Ping Zhou Iván Agudo Diego Altamirano Jean-Luc Atteia Nils A.andersson M.Cristina Baglio David R.Ballantyne Altan Baykal Ehud Behar Tomaso Belloni Sudip Bhattacharyya Stefano Bianchi Anna Bilous Pere Blay Joao Braga Sφren Brandt Edward F.Brown Niccolo Bucciantini Luciano Burderi Edward M.Cackett Riccardo Campana Sergio Campana Piergiorgio Casella Yuri Cavecchi Frank Chambers Liang Chen Yu-Peng Chen Jér?me Chenevez Maria Chernyakova ChiChuan Jin Riccardo Ciolfi Elisa Costantini Andrew Cumming Antonino D'Aì Zi-Gao Dai Filippo D'Ammando Massimiliano De Pasquale Nathalie Degenaar Melania Del Santo Valerio D'Elia Tiziana Di Salvo Gerry Doyle Maurizio Falanga XiLong Fan Robert D.Ferdman Marco Feroci Federico Fraschetti Duncan K.Galloway Angelo F.Gambino Poshak Gandhi MingYu Ge Bruce Gendre Ramandeep Gill Diego G?tz Christian Gouiffès Paola Grandi Jonathan Granot Manuel Güdel Alexander Heger Craig O.Heinke Jeroen Homan Rosario Iaria Kazushi Iwasawa Luca Izzo Long Ji Peter G.Jonker Jordi José Jelle S.Kaastra Emrah Kalemci Oleg Kargaltsev Nobuyuki Kawai Laurens Keek Stefanie Komossa Ingo Kreykenbohm Lucien Kuiper Devaky Kunneriath Gang Li En-Wei Liang Manuel Linares Francesco Longo FangJun Lu Alexander A.Lutovinov Denys Malyshev Julien Malzac Antonios Manousakis Ian McHardy Missagh Mehdipour YunPeng Men Mariano Méndez Roberto P.Mignani Romana Mikusincova M.Coleman Miller Giovanni Miniutti Christian Motch Joonas Nättilä Emanuele Nardini Torsten Neubert Paul T.O'Brien Mauro Orlandini Julian P.Osborne Luigi Pacciani Stéphane Paltani Maurizio Paolillo Iossif E.Papadakis Biswajit Paul Alberto Pellizzoni Uria Peretz Miguel A.Pérez Torres Emanuele Perinati Chanda Prescod-Weinstein Pablo Reig Alessandro Riggio Jerome Rodriguez Pablo Rodríguez-Gil Patrizia Romano Agata Rózańska Takanori Sakamoto Tuomo Salmi Ruben Salvaterra andrea Sanna andrea Santangelo Tuomas Savolainen Stéphane Schanne Hendrik Schatz LiJing Shao andy Shearer Steven N.Shore Ben W.Stappers Tod E.Strohmayer Valery F.Suleimanov Jirí Svoboda F.-K.Thielemann Francesco Tombesi Diego F.Torres Eleonora Torresi Sara Turriziani andrea Vacchi Stefano Vercellone Jacco Vink Jian-Min Wang JunFeng Wang Anna L.Watts ShanShan Weng Nevin N.Weinberg Peter J.Wheatley Rudy Wijnands Tyrone E.Woods Stan E.Woosley ShaoLin Xiong YuPeng Xu Zhen Yan George Younes WenFei Yu Feng Yuan Luca Zampieri Silvia Zane andrzej A.Zdziarski Shuang-Nan Zhang Shu Zhang Shuo Zhang Xiao Zhang Michael Zingale | 2019 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,2: | 0
A Novel Soft-start Method for SVG Based on D-axis Orientation显示文摘In this paper,a novel method for shock-free soft-start is proposed. The novel method can realize the aim of no-overshoot and inrush of current during the entire soft-start process, thus the start process is safe, stable, and reliable. When the uncontrolled rectification stage ends,a sinusoidal signal synchronized with the grid voltage is generated through dq coordinate transformation and D-axis orientation, then the signal is transmitted to the three-phase inverter bridge. The AC voltage output of the inverter bridge is superimposed on both ends of the soft-start resistor along with the grid. The open-loop control method is adopted to gradually reduce the modulation ratio of the sinusoidal PWM wave until the capacitor voltage on the DC side reaches the rated voltage value, then the soft-start resistor is removed, which means the shock-free soft-start process is completed.Experimental results prove the effectiveness and feasibility of the control strategy proposed in this paper. | Shicheng Zheng Ying Shu Mengmeng Qi Jiahong Lang Xuefeng Hu | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2021,7,1: | 0
