Biotransfer of heavy metals along a soil-plant-insect-chicken food chain:Field study显示文摘The accumulation and transfer of Pb,Zn,Cu,and Cd along a soil-plant-insect-chicken food chain at contaminated sites were investigated. The study site nearing the Pb/Zn mine had been contaminated by heavy metals severely.Cadmium and Pb concentrations steadily declined with increasing trophic level(p < 0.01),but concentrations of Zn and Cu slightly increased from plant to insect larva(p > 0.05).The concentrations of heavy metals were the highest in chicken muscle, with lower values in liver and blood. The bioaccumulation of Pb was observed in chicken livers. The eliminations of Pb,Zn,Cu,and Cd via insect and chicken feces avoid metal bioaccumulation in insect and chicken body. These results suggest that the accumulation of heavy metals in specific animal organ of tissues could not be neglected, although transfer of metals to chicken from plant and insect was limited. | ZHUANG Ping ZOU Huiling SHU Wensheng | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,6: | 31
A pH-sensitive supramolecular nanosystem with chlorin e6 and triptolide co-delivery for chemo-photodynamic combination therapy显示文摘The combination of Ce6,an acknowledged photosensitizer, and TPL,a natural anticancer agent, has been demonstrated as a useful strategy to reinforce the tumor growth suppression,as well as decrease the systemic side effects compared with their monotherapy. However,in view of the optimal chemo-photodynamic combination efficiency, there is still short of the feasible nanovehicle to steadily co-deliver Ce6 and TPL,and stimuli-responsively burst release drugs in tumor site.Herein,we described the synergistic antitumor performance of a pH-sensitive supramolecular nanosystem, mediated by the host–guest complexing betweenβ-CD and acid pH-responsive amphiphilic co-polymer mPEG-PBAE-mPEG,showing the shell–core structural micelles with the tightβ-CD layer coating. Both Ce6 and TPLwere facilely co-loaded into the spherical supramolecular NPs(TPL+Ce6/NPs)by one-step nanoprecipitation method, with an ideal particle size(156.0 nm),acid pH-responsive drug release profile, and enhanced cellular internalization capacity. In view of the combination benefit of photodynamic therapy and chemotherapy,as well as co-encapsulation in the fabricated pH-sensitive supramolecular NPs,TPL+Ce6/NPs exhibited significant efficacy to suppress cellular proliferation, boost ROS level, lower MMP,and promote cellular apoptosis in vitro.Particularly, fluorescence imaging revealed that TPL+Ce6/NPs preferentially accumulated in the tumor tissue area, with higher intensity than that of free Ce6.As expected, upon 650-nm laser irradiation,TPL+Ce6/NPs exhibited a cascade of amplified synergistic chemo-photodynamic therapeutic benefits to suppress tumor progression in both hepatoma H22 tumor-bearingmice and B16 tumor-bearingmice.More importantly, lower systemic toxicitywas found in the tumor-bearingmice treated with TPL+Ce6/NPs.Overall,the designed supramolecular TPL+Ce6/NPs provided a promising alternative approach for chemo-photodynamic therapy in tumor treatment. | Yihan Wu Jingjing Li Xuemei Zhong Jinfeng Shi Yanfen Cheng Chenglin He Jiaxin Li Liang Zou Chaomei Fu Meiwan Chen Jinming Zhang Huile Gao | 2022 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2022,17,2: | 4
Effect of aging treatment on microstructure and corrosion behavior of a Fe-18Cr-15Mn-0.66N stainless steel显示文摘The effect of aging treatment on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of a Fe-18Cr-15Mn-0.66N high-nitrogen stainless steel(HNSS) in 3.5 wt.% Na Cl solution was investigated using a series of electrochemical tests, scanning electronic microscopy(SEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The results showed that the aging treatment led to the precipitation of CrN particles along the grain boundaries and their morphologies changed from dispersive particles to continuous network as the aging time increased up to 60 min. Aging time had minor effects on the corrosion potential and corrosion current density, but resulted in the sharp decrease in the pitting corrosion potential. The passive film behaved as a n-type semiconductor, and the donor density of the passive film increased with the aging time. Meanwhile, the fraction of stable oxide(CrO) in the passive film decreased with the aging time. It demonstrates that the aging treatment deteriorated the protectiveness of the passive film, hence weakened the corrosion resistance of HNSS. | Yanxin Qiao Xinyi Wang Lanlan Yang Xiaojing Wang Jian Chen Zhengbin Wang Huiling Zhou Jiasheng Zou Fuhui Wang | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,12: | 3
LIM domain proteins Pinch1/2 regulate chondrogenesis and bone mass in mice显示文摘The LIM domain-containing proteins Pinch1/2 regulate integrin activation and cell–extracellular matrix interaction and adhesion. Here,we report that deleting Pinch1 in limb mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)and Pinch2 globally(double knockout;dKO)in mice causes severe chondrodysplasia, while single mutant mice do not display marked defects.Pinch deletion decreases chondrocyte proliferation, accelerates cell differentiation and disrupts column formation.Pinch loss drastically reduces Smad2/3 protein expression in proliferative zone(PZ)chondrocytes and increases Runx2 and Col10a1 expression in both PZ and hypertrophic zone(HZ)chondrocytes.Pinch loss increases sclerostin and Rankl expression in HZ chondrocytes, reduces bone formation, and increases bone resorption, leading to low bone mass.In vitro studies revealed that Pinch1 and Smad2/3 colocalize in the nuclei of chondrocytes.Through its C-terminal region,Pinch1 interacts with Smad2/3 proteins.Pinch loss increases Smad2/3 ubiquitination and degradation in primary bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs).Pinch loss reduces TGF-β-induced Smad2/3 phosphorylation and nuclear localization in primary BMSCs.Interestingly, compared to those from single mutant mice,BMSCs from dKO mice express dramatically lower protein levels ofβ-catenin and Yap1/Taz and display reduced osteogenic but increased adipogenic differentiation capacity. Finally, ablating Pinch1 in chondrocytes and Pinch2 globally causes severe osteopenia with subtle limb shortening.Collectively, our findings demonstrate critical roles for Pinch1/2 and a functional redundancy of both factors in the control of chondrogenesis and bone mass through distinct mechanisms. | Yiming Lei Xuekun Fu Pengyu Li Sixiong Lin Qinnan Yan Yumei Lai Xin Liu Yishu Wang Xiaochun Bai Chuanju Liu Di Chen Xuenong Zou Xu Cao Huiling Cao Guozhi Xiao | 2020 | Bone Research2020,8,4: | 2
H3K36 methyltransferase NSD1 regulates chondrocyte differentiation for skeletal development and fracture repair显示文摘Chondrocyte differentiation is a critical process for endochondral ossification, which is responsible for long bone development and fracture repair.Considerable progress has been made in understanding the transcriptional control of chondrocyte differentiation;however, epigenetic regulation of chondrocyte differentiation remains to be further studied.NSD1 is a H3K36(histone H3 at lysine 36)methyltransferase.Here,we showed that mice with Nsd1 deficiency in Prx1+mesenchymal progenitors but not in Col2+chondrocytes showed impaired skeletal growth and fracture healing accompanied by decreased chondrogenic differentiation.Via combined RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)and chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing(ChIP-seq)analysis,we identified sex determining region Y box 9(Sox9),the key transcription factor of chondrogenic differentiation,as a functional target gene of NSD1.Mechanistically,NSD1 regulates Sox9 expression by modulating H3K36me1 and H3K36me2 levels in the Sox9 promoter region, constituting a novel epigenetic regulatory mechanism of chondrogenesis. Moreover,we found that NSD1 can directly activate the expression of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF1α),which plays a vital role in chondrogenic differentiation through its regulation of Sox9 expression.Collectively, the results of our study reveal crucial roles of NSD1 in regulating chondrogenic differentiation, skeletal growth, and fracture repair and expand our understanding of the function of epigenetic regulation in chondrogenesis and skeletal biology. | Rui Shao Zhong Zhang Zhan Xu Huiling Ouyang Lijun Wang Hongwei Ouyang Matthew Greenblatt Xi Chen Weiguo Zou | 2021 | Bone Research2021,9,3: | 2

Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition, approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected. This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter, which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle. Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better, depending on the central value, and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 12 | Kindlin-2 regulates skeletal homeostasis by modulating PTH1R in mice显示文摘In vertebrates, the type 1 parathyroid hormone receptor(PTH1R)is a critical regulator of skeletal development and homeostasis;however, how it is modulated is incompletely understood. Here we report that deleting Kindlin-2 in osteoblastic cells using the mouse 10-kb Dmp1-Cre largely neutralizes the intermittent PTH-stimulated increasing of bone volume fraction and bone mineral density by impairing both osteoblast and osteoclast formation in murine adult bone.Single-cell profiling reveals that Kindlin-2 loss increases the proportion of osteoblasts, but not mesenchymal stem cells, chondrocytes and fibroblasts,in non-hematopoietic bone marrow cells, with concomitant depletion of osteoblasts on the bone surfaces, especially those stimulated by PTH.Furthermore, haploinsufficiency of Kindlin-2 and Pth1r genes, but not that of either gene,in mice significantly decreases basal and,to a larger extent,PTH-stimulated bone mass, supporting the notion that both factors function in the same genetic pathway.Mechanistically,Kindlin-2 interacts with the C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of PTH1R via aa 474–475 and Gsα.Kindlin-2 loss suppresses PTH induction of cAMP production and CREB phosphorylation in cultured osteoblasts and in bone.Interestingly,PTH promotes Kindlin-2 expression in vitro and in vivo, thus creating a positive feedback regulatory loop. Finally, estrogen deficiency induced by ovariectomy drastically decreases expression of Kindlin-2 protein in osteocytes embedded in the bone matrix and Kindlin-2 loss essentially abolishes the PTH anabolic activity in bone in ovariectomized mice. Thus,we demonstrate that Kindlin-2 functions as an intrinsic component of the PTH1R signaling pathway in osteoblastic cells to regulate bone mass accrual and homeostasis. | Xuekun Fu Bo Zhou Qinnan Yan Chu Tao Lei Qin Xiaohao Wu Sixiong Lin Sheng Chen Yumei Lai Xuenong Zou Zengwu Shao Meiqing Wang Di Chen Wenfei Jin Youqiang Song Huiling Cao Ge Zhang Guozhi Xiao | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 0
Electron-distribution control via Pt/NC and MoC/NC dual junction:Boosted hydrogen electro-oxidation and theoretical study显示文摘The scarcity, high cost and susceptibility to CO of Platinum severely restrict its application in alkaline hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR).Hybridizing Pt with other transition metals provides an effective strategy to modulate its catalytic HOR performance, but at the cost of mass activity due to the coverage of modifiers on Pt surface.Herein,we constructed dual junctions'Pt/nitrogen-doped carbon(Pt/NC)andδ-MoC/NC to modify electronic structure of Pt via interfacial electron transfer to acquire Pt-MoC@NC catalyst with electron-deficient Pt nanoparticles, simultaneously endowing it with high mass activity and durability of alkaline HOR.Moreover, the unique structure of Pt-MoC@NC endows Pt with a high COtolerance at 1,000 ppm CO/H_(2),a quality that commercial Pt-C catalyst lacks. The theoretical calculations not only confirm the diffusion of electrons from Pt/NC to Mo C/NC could occur, but also demonstrate the negative shift of Pt d-band center for the optimized binding energies of*H,*OH and CO. | Feng Zhou Xiaofeng Ke Yihuang Chen Mei Zhao Yun Yang Youqing Dong Chao Zou Xi’an Chen Huile Jin Lijie Zhang Shun Wang | 2024 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2024,88,1: | 0

Duality of 2-D singular systems of Roesser models显示文摘In this paper, the properties and concepts of dual systems of the two-dimensional singular Roesser models (2-D SRM) are studied. Two different concepts of the dual systems are proposed for the 2-D SRM. One is derived from the duality defined for two-dimensional singular general models (2-D SGM)-called the S-dual systems; the other one is defined based on 2-D SRM in a traditional sense-called the T-dual systems. It is shown that if a 2-D SRM is jump-mode free or jump-mode reachable, then it can be equivalently transformed into a canonical form of a 2-D SRM, for which the T-duality and the S-duality are equivalent. This will be of some perspective applications in the robust control of 2-D SRM. | Yun ZOU Huiling XU | 2007 | 控制理论与应用(英文版)2007,5,1: | 0
