| 1 | Direct Effects of Activin A on the Activation of Mouse Macrophage RAW264.7 Cells显示文摘Macrophages play critical roles in innate immune and acquired immune via secreting pro-inflammatory mediators, phagocytosing microorganisms and presenting antigens. Activin A, a member of transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) superfamily, is produced by macrophages and microglia cells. In this study, we reported a direct effect of activin A as a pro-inflammatory factor on mouse macrophage cell line RAW264.7 cells. Our data revealed that activin A could not only increase IL-1β and IL-6 production from RAW264.7 cells, but also promote pinocytic and phagocytic activities of RAW264.7 cells. In addition, activin A obviously up-regulated MHC II expression on the surface of RAW264.7 cells, whereas did not influence MHC I expression. Activin A also enhanced CD80 expression, which is a marker of activated macrophages, but did not influence RAW264.7 cell proliferation. | 5 | Combination therapy of thiamine,vitamin C and hydrocortisone in treating patients with sepsis and septic shock:a meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis显示文摘Background:The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of thiamine and vitamin C with or without hydrocortisone coadministration on the treatment of sepsis and septic shock.Methods:MEDLINE,EMBASE and CENTRAL databases were searched for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that made a comparative study between the combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine with or without hydrocortisone and the administration of placebo in patients with sepsis or septic shock.Two reviewers independently performed study selection,data extraction and quality assessment.Both short-term mortality and change in the sequential organ failure assessment(SOFA)score from baseline(delta SOFA)were set as the primary outcomes.Secondary endpoints included intensive care unit(ICU)mortality,new onset of acute kidney injury,total adverse events,ICU and hospital length of stay,duration of vasopressor usage and ventilator-free days.Meanwhile,trial sequential analysis was conducted for primary outcomes.Results:Eight RCTs with 1428 patients were included in the current study.The results showed no significant reduction of short-term mortality in sepsis and septic shock patients who received combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine with or without hydrocortisone compared to those with placebo{risk ratio(RR),1.02[95%confidence interval(CI),0.87 to 1.20],p=0.81,I2=0%;risk difference(RD),0[95%CI,−0.04 to 0.05]}.Nevertheless,the combination therapy was associated with significant reduction in SOFA score[mean difference(MD),−0.63,(95%CI,−0.96 to−0.29,p<0.001,I^(2)=0%]and vasopressors duration(MD,−22.11[95%CI,−30.46 to−13.77],p<0.001,I2=6%).Additionally,there were no statistical differences in the pooled estimate for other outcomes.Conclusions:In the current meta-analysis,the combination therapy of vitamin C and thiamine,with or without hydrocortisone had no impact on short-term mortality when compared with placebo,but was associated with significant reduction in SOFA score among patients with sepsis and septic shock. | Renqi Yao Yibing Zhu Yue Yu Zhixuan Li Lixue Wang Liyu Zheng Jingyan Li Huibin Huang Guosheng Wu Feng Zhu Zhaofan Xia Chao Ren Yongming Yao | 2021 | Burns & Trauma2021,9,1: | 2 |
| 6 | Zircon U-Pb Age,Geochemical,and Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf Isotopic Constraints on the Time Frame and Origin of Early Cretaceous Mafic Dykes in the Wuling Mountain Gravity Lineament,South China显示文摘In view of the importance of mafic dyke swarms and their contribution to current scientific problems relating to South China,herein,we present the findings of studies on twenty–five representative mafic dykes cropping out in Hunan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,within the southern Wuling Mountain gravity lineament,China.These results include new zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb age,whole rock geochemical,Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic,and zircon Hf isotopic data for these dykes.The dykes formed between 131.5±1.2 and 121.6±1.1 Ma,and have typical doleritic textures.They fall into the alkaline and shoshonitic series,are enriched in light rare earth elements(LREE),some large ion lithophile elements(LILE;e.g.,Rb,Ba,and Sr),Th,U,and Pb,and are depleted in Nb,Ta,Hf,and Ti.Moreover,the dolerites have high initial 87 Sr/86 Sr ratios(0.7055–0.7057),negativeεNd(t)and zirconεHf(t)values(-14.8 to-11.9,-30.4 to-14.9),and relatively constant initial Pb isotopic ratios(that are EM1-like,16.77–16.94,15.43–15.47,and 36.84–36.92 for 206 Pb/204 Pb,207 Pb/204 Pb,and 208 Pb/204 Pb,respectively).These results indicate that the dykes were likely derived from magma generated through low-degree partial melting(1.0%–10%)of an EM1-like garnet–lherzolite mantle source.The parental magmas fractionated olivine,clinopyroxene,plagioclase,and Ti-bearing phases with negligible crustal contamination,during ascent and dyke emplacement.Several possible models have been proposed to explain the origin of Mesozoic magmatism along the Wuling Mountain gravity lineament.Herein we propose a reasonable model for the origin of these mafic dykes,involving the collision between the paleo-Pacific Plate and South China,which led to subsequent lithospheric extension and asthenosphere upwelling,resulting in partial melting the underlying mantle lithosphere in the Early Cretaceous,to form the parental magmas to the WMGL mafic dykes,as studied. | CHEN Xiaoqing LIU Shen FENG Caixia XU Jingyan ZHAO Huibo FENG Guangying Ian M.COULSON SUN Jinggui FAN Yan | 2021 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2021,95,2: | 1 |

| 9 | Feasibility and physics potential of detecting ^(8)B solar neutrinos at JUNO显示文摘The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory(JUNO)features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector.Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for^8B solar neutrino measurements,such as its low-energy threshold,high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors,and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors.In this paper,we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting^8B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process.A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable,assuming that the intrinsic radioactive background^(238)U and^(232)Th in the liquid scintillator can be controlled to 10^(-17)g/g.With ten years of data acquisition,approximately 60,000 signal and 30,000 background events are expected.This large sample will enable an examination of the distortion of the recoil electron spectrum that is dominated by the neutrino flavor transformation in the dense solar matter,which will shed new light on the inconsistency between the measured electron spectra and the predictions of the standard three-flavor neutrino oscillation framework.IfDelta m^(2)_(21)=4.8times10^(-5);(7.5times10^(-5))eV^(2),JUNO can provide evidence of neutrino oscillation in the Earth at approximately the 3sigma(2sigma)level by measuring the non-zero signal rate variation with respect to the solar zenith angle.Moreover,JUNO can simultaneously measureDelta m^2_(21)using^8B solar neutrinos to a precision of 20% or better,depending on the central value,and to sub-percent precision using reactor antineutrinos.A comparison of these two measurements from the same detector will help understand the current mild inconsistency between the value of Delta m^2_(21)reported by solar neutrino experiments and the KamLAND experiment. | 12 | Sedimentary characteristics and depositional evolution of carbonate platform during the Cambrian and Ordovician in eastern Tarim Basin,NW China显示文摘The eastern Tarim Basin(Tadong Area)has gained wide attentions on large-scale marine carbonate reservoirs in Cambrian-Ordovician due to significant hydrocarbon discoveries.A systematic analysis combining thin sections,cores,wireline logs,and seismic data is conducted on Cambrian-Ordovician carbonate platform in the whole eastern Tarim Basin,including Gucheng area,Majiaer area,and western Luobopo rise(Luoxi area).The results show that 8 sub-facies and more than 10 microfacies are developed including open platform,restricted/semi-restricted platform,reef-shoal around platform margin,drowned platform,foreslope,neritic platform,and deep-water basin.As both key areas for hosting petroleum reserves during the Cambrian and Ordovician,the Luoxi area is dominated by deep-water basin facies,while the Gucheng area is dominated by neritic platform facies and deep-water basin facies during the Lower Cambrian.The deposition evolution during the whole Cambrian is dominated by slope facies and deep-water facies,platform margin facies,and platform facies.In contrast,it is dominated by open platform facies during the whole Ordovician.The depositional evolution of carbonate platform is mainly controlled by paleo-geomorphology and sea-level changes.The distribution of paleo-geomorphologic units plays an important role in controlling types and distributions of carbonate platform facies.The transgression assists in growth of reef-shoal complex and lime mud mound in the Early Ordovician.However,with neritic platform and slope being to disappeared,in the Middle Ordovician,platform margin facies are well developed in Gucheng Area.Platform facies and deepwater basin facies are widely distributed.Finally,carbonate platform is drowned due to sea level rising in the Late Ordovician.The depositional evolution of carbonate platform coinciding falling and rising of sea-level changes can be beneficial for appropriate carbonate reservoirs identification and petroleum exploration. | Jingyan LIU Shiqiang XIA Junlong ZHANG Feng HE Yuhan CHENG Yi ZHU Zhaoqin CHEN Huoxiang DONG | 2023 | Frontiers of Earth Science2023,17,2: | 0 |
